About this property
Charming, Antique 2 Brm Cape in the village of Morgan Bay nr Acadia/Blue Hill
Come home to a quiet, country farmhouse hosted by 10th generation Mainer, who has returned home to Maine after traveling to near and distant lands. Nancy is passionate about living on the Blue Hill Peninsula and is happy to share special coastal Maine with you.
Dark Skies, the Milky Way while sitting around an outdoor fire is here for you.
The whole second floor is yours with two bedrooms (King and Full, Swedish cot or futon on floor can be added; also, futon couch in library can be turned into a bed) and private bath. Between the bedrooms is a library with microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle). The backyard has a fire-to that can be used when Nancy is in residence.
Walk five minutes to Morgan Bay. Sit on the rocks or hike on trails.
Bike to Newbury Neck, on the way stop and take a swim on the small beach overlooking the mountains of Acadia National Park, eat lobster on the pier of the small local Lobster Shack almost next door, continue biking down a narrow country road with views of Acadia, bring a picnic and eat in a field overlooking the bay and mountains.
Meditate at the Meditation Center across the road on Sundays 9-11am; Wednesdays 7-8pm; or Monday mornings 9:30-11am.
Also across the road is Tuesdays Farmer's Market and the Surry Concert Barn.
Paddle your kayak in Morgan Bay by renting one from The Activity Shop in Blue Hill.
Drive to Acadia - 40 minutes away or 15. minutes to Blue Hill for a Flash in the Pan Monday night dance with steel drums under the night sky, visit art galleries, events, outdoor wood-fired oven pizza, theater in the Bagaduce barn on the other side of the peninsula. So much to do -boatrides, hikes, swimming, concerts, theater, Acadia.
Night sky is some of the darkest east of the Mississippi River.
Don't forget popovers at the Asticou

Why they chose this property
This property is special. I came to the area in the late 70s to study Zen and then left to marry and raise a family returning when my youngest graduated from high school. The house is a charming cape built in 1832. The old posts and beams are exposed. I love that it is close to the ocean, Acadia, and the community is filled with artists, musicians, and writers.
What makes this property unique
1832 traditional New England farmhouse with antiques collected over many decades. It is close to Morgan Bay, forest meditation center, Surry Arts Barn, Little Gallery, small beach and Lobster Shack overlooking the mountains of Acadia.
