Our bright, modern well equipped suite has walk-out access to the beach and an expansive ocean view from every window. Bring your kayaks, bikes, or a good pair of walking shoes - or just curl up by the fireplace for a quiet weekend relaxing to the sound of waves.

Note: This property is compliant with the principal residence requirement of the BC Short Term Rental Accommodation Act that came into effect May 1, 2024. Our registration number is H616204493.

The space

Our suite has a full well-equipped kitchen, a cozy gas fireplace and a luxurious bathroom with heated floors, large walk-in shower and locally made soaps and shampoo etc. It’s equipped with in-suite washer and dryer and more closet space than you’ll need even for longer stays.

The suite has its own private entrance with keycode lock, so you can come and go as you wish. We live on the property but we respect your privacy and you may not even see us during your stay - unless you want to, in which case we'll be happy to help out with recommendations, directions, or other arrangements.

We're renting the unit as a studio for one party of guests, with a sleeping area separated by sliding screens. An adjoining bedroom may be available for guests with family or for those wishing a fully separate sleeping space; please contact us for rates.

Guest access

Feel free to relax and dine on the patio, in the yard, in the big red chairs beachside, or of course on the beach itself. Let us know if you want to borrow the rowboat for a beautiful excursion along the shoreline if you are experienced on the water.

Interaction with guests

We live on the property and are available if you need assistance, but we will respect your privacy. With key-code entry you might not even see us - unless you want to, in which case we'd be happy to recommend local restaurants and attractions, good hikes, etc.

Other things to note

While the beach is eminently walkable, you'll need to walk down three steps and hop across a few logs to get there. Watch your step!

We don't have cable but you're welcome to use our Netflix account, stream wirelessly to the AppleTV or connect your phone or tablet directly to the TV.

There is no phone in the suite so if you don’t have one, just knock on our front door if you need to make a call.

Amazing location in the ocean

This was a fantastic unit! It had everything you would want for a comfortable stay. The ocean view and sound of the waves was a highlight. Seals swam by, sea birds floated in the waves. It was a comfortable walk to town along the waterfront road. The hosts were helpful, friendly and responsive. Would definitely stay again!

Tranquility just steps from the ocean

We absolutely loved John and Sarah’s oceanside unit. It was amazingly peaceful to sit and watch the tide come and go while seeing herons, eagles, hummingbirds and many songbirds we tried to identify with the field book they have in the unit. We can’t wait to visit again.

We love the outdoors. We are travellers, hikers, kayakers and adventurers. We feel very lucky to live in this amazing part of the world and on this beautiful land. When we can tear ourselves away from the beach we like to go exploring with our camper van (named Morrison.)

Why they chose this property

We were perfectly happy in our home in downtown Victoria, until one fateful day in the fall of 2016 when we happened to notice a For Sale sign in front of this place. We walked in, looked out the window, and fell in love with the location (right on the ocean) and the incredible views from the big picture windows. We made an offer the same day, and have never looked back! We spent the first year planning this vacation rental suite and having it built - we designed it so that we would be happy living in it ourselves, and we're confident you'll love it too!

What makes this property unique

There's lots to love about our place, but the stars of the show are really the ocean views, the location and the beach access.
