This wonderful woodland cottage sits secluded on acres of ancient rhododendron, laurel, and majestic trees. The Stoney Brook Cottage is VRBO's largest rental on a stream in Brevard.

The cottage sits next to a brisk stream that tumbles down the mountainside where it has cut its path for centuries. View the mountain fauna along the stream from the covered deck as you picnic in the forest canopy. You can also retreat to the screened porch out back to sip coffee as the song birds enjoy the first rays of sunshine. Cottage does have stairs and is not recommended for the elderly.

The Stoney Brook Cottage is located only six miles from DuPont State Forest with it's incredible waterfalls and over 80 miles of hiking and mountain bike trails and also only six miles from the Pisgah National Forest where you will find the Davidson River which boast more trophy trout per mile than any other stream in the country as well as tubing and Sliding Rock!

Oh yes, the cottage has WiFi high speed internet. There is also a hot tub overlooking the stream, a gas fireplace, a den/2nd living room with foosball, board games, and smart TVs in both living rooms. Over 1600 square feet of heated living space provides you with a king bedroom with walk-in closet and another queen bedroom, two full baths, living room, fully-equipped kitchen, couch, loveseat, rollaway bed, and full laundry.

When the day is through and you have hiked the National Forests and its waterfalls, you can retreat to your private cottage and still be in the middle of nature's beauty. It is everything you are looking for... Entrance to the cottage is on the lower level which has a bedroom, full bath, den/2nd living room, laundry room and covered deck with the hot tub. Upstairs is the living room, master bedroom, another full bath, kitchen, covered deck and a screened porch. We're sure you will enjoy this cottage for generations to come!

The quiet location was a perfect place to come to at the end of the day. I was in town for work and wanted to stay away from the traffic and noise close to the AVL airport. Penrose was a nice and quiet and not for from Brevard for food and groceries.

Location is great - close to Brevard and all the outdoor things we wanted to do. This cabin was very clean and charming. There are some updates that could be made to flooring and cabinets but the furniture/beds were very comfortable. We chose this cabin because it was pet friendly and we had our 60# dog with us. He loved hanging out on the porch but there is no yard due to the steepness of the lot. Walks had to be on a leash on the street, where there isn't much shoulder either. We enjoyed the hot tub but the neighbors could see us so it wasn't very private.

Super cute cabin. You come in on the bottom floor with the extra family room,queen bedroom and a full bath, small in size but perfect to rinse off before and after the hot tub. Head up the stairs to a roomy living/dining area, kitchen is fully stocked, the view is so pretty and the creek next to the cabin can be heard from both decks. Cabin is close to shopping & restaurants. Will definitely come back.

A very nice place convenient to cities, sites (waterfalls, etc.), shopping, while still out in the woods. Appreciated that all roads to the place were paved. The host was extremely quick in responding to my inquiries. The calm setting on the porch was perfect for morning coffee, and all day long. Will definitely be going back again.

Location, location, location. The cottage is right next to a stream. During the summer you can sleep with the windows open hearing the sound of the falling water and have breakfast on the large porch. During the winter curl up in the living room with the fireplace.
