About the host
Hosted by Stanley and Bryanna Cole Glod Ocitti
We are originally from Massachusetts but moved to North Carolina to follow our careers. We love to travel and use it as a means to explore and experience sustainable building designs. From earthships in Taos, NM to extremely compact but functional hotels in Tokyo, Japan to the Tiny Home movement across the country, we are keen enthusiasts of the minimalist low carbon footprint lifestyle. We hope to share this with you.
Why they chose this property
The Tiny Geopod was designed and built with the vision for simple yet comfortable living that supports a deep connection with nature and a smaller footprint on the planet. The meticulously designed 130 square foot Tiny Geopod makes use of every inch and lacks for nothing.
With the small interior footprint, the majority of the space is dedicated to three truly magical outdoor areas. The outdoor main deck is equipped with a breakfast bar area, gas fire pit, and seating area to relax and enjoy nature in. The second outdoor space brings you even further among the trees, accentuating the winter views of the mountains. Read a good book, take a nap, or enjoy the view of the trees while relaxing on the outdoor patio furniture or relax in the hot tub after a nice day of hiking. The third space is a unique outdoor kitchen and bathroom space. Cook delicious meals on the cute small gas stove top or grill to your heart's content on the stainless 3 burner gas grill. You can expect to see birds, deer, and other wildlife about while you enjoy the outdoors.
The Tiny Geopod itself was built with all the essentials and packaged into a cozy, comfortable, and retreat-like space. With an emphasis on sustainability, the Geo-Pod is powered from the nearby community solar garden and guests can reduce waste by recycling and composting on the property. A well equipped kitchen, unique high end bathroom, convertible working/dining area, and a comfy sleeping space with cotton sheets are a few of the features. Log in to your video streaming accounts on the provided tablet and enjoy a movie while relaxing after a day of exploring. A coffee and tea bar, along with luxury shampoos/soaps are just a few of the other amenities provided.
