We had a wonderful stay at the Belknap House. Everything is even more beautiful than the photos depict. The instructions were easy to follow and the owners were super responsive to any questions or minor issues that arose during our stay. I would highly recommend this property for a visit to McKenzie Bridge.
Lovely setting, well-equipped kitchen and living areas. We were very comfortable. Only a few minor recommendations: matches and paper for fire-starting in wood stove; Kleenex; more transparency about available sleeping areas - there were no mattresses on the sleeping porch beds. Otherwise it was perfect for our memorial gathering.
Memorial day weekend with friends at the Belknap House
We enjoyed our stay at the Belknap house. Jonathan was quick with answering all the questions we had before our trip, the house was clean, well maintained and is situated right on the river side with exceptional views.
I would definitely like to come back and stay here again in the future.

Very comfortable home right on the lovely waters of the Mackenzie River. Everything was as advertised or better. Comfortable beds, livingroom chairs, and well equipped kitchen which sometimes presented a "can you find me" challenge!" Both open deck and screened porch were great options to enjoy the river while reading, chatting, or playing a board game. Great active outdoor options too (e.g., hiking) nearby (be sure to hike the falls portion of the Mackenzie River Trail, about 30 minutes away). Very responsive home manager too. The only thing that was not 5-stars was the internet, which was sometimes slow and sometimes dropped the server, but that may be more related to the provider than the home owner.

Thanks again!
They were working on the line that week.
We would’ve loved to have the hot tub available. It overlooks the river in such a neat setting and every time we looked out tear the back deck, the hot tube was a constant reminder.
We also wish there was a bathroom to use without invading someone’s bedroom.
Location was exactly what we wanted - right on the river. It’s gorgeous here and very conveniently located. McKenzie Bridge is a special place and this property was fabulous. We visited the area to experience the nature, and we were not disappointed. We’ll be back

Stayed for the weekend with my wife and father. It is a great launching point for all your adventures and activities up the McKenzie. Everything was as expected, clean bedding, clean towels.
Absolutely beautiful property, no doubt! Was disappointed that the hot tub was locked, although it was in the pictures.
Couldn’t figure out where the seventh and eighth person would sleep. And did not love the single ply…

We're all on septic up here in the forest, so we do use the appropriate tp. We've actually grown to appreciate it because at least it doesn't crumble.
People learn of the existence of the hot-tub when they arrive.
There are no pictures or mention of the owner only hot-tub area because of the potential liability of people being "on vacation" mentally, and hurting themselves or the property during its use. It's never been available to guests either, so confusion on this issue is hard to understand.
Of course, it's locked.
If you read the description to the property, it also states that the base rate covers the first 4 guests and that additional areas of the home can be made available by adding guests and paying a small fee per extra guest. That way, smaller groups can achieve smaller rates by using smaller portions of the home. Larger groups can appropriately arrange the space they need to sleep upto 8 (upto 6 in the coldest of months).
People who only tell us they have 2 to 4 guests and then think they'll just bring 8 people up here anyway, soon discover the error of that attempt.
All of these stated "issues" are known by all renting guests prior to their booking and definitely included again in our check in information. When those descriptions are ignored during the booking process - misunderstandings can occur.
Please feel free to call Jonathan prior to booking if these concepts appear to be unclear - we're always available.
This is quite possibly, the nicest riverfront home in the area. Enjoy it.
This is a great home for enjoying the river and for access to the McKenzie Forest. I would highly recommend springing the extra cash for washer/dryer use, which also grants access to the very nice screened porch with its table and two twin beds. Also, you may consider bringing house slippers or some socks, as the owners do not want shoes worn in the house. Overall, a great stay and would definitely return.

Perfect setting for a quiet and restful few days. Appreciated the variety of board games, sound of river, comfort of beds, and ability to have individual space. Community offered nearby grocery store, restaurants, golf course. Johnathan recommended Sahalie Falls. Beautiful. Thank you.

This property was even lovelier than described, inside and out. My friends and I enjoyed reading and drinking our morning coffee out on the deck overlooking the river. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was sparkling clean. The king bed was a tad hard for my preferences but that could be my aging joints.
Wifi was great, cell service was sparse, but we were there to vacation anyway.
It was a short drive to beautiful hikes (Blue Pool, Sahale & Koosah Falls), hot springs, and delicious food at the MacKenzie Bridge Station Pub.
We'd like to come back some day.

House was listed as 4 bedrooms and three bath. We purposely searched for a house with enough space for separate rooms. As we were only 3 people the additional rooms were locked and the host decided we didn’t need the extra bed and bathrooms. This resulted in adults having to share rooms and bathrooms. We looked for a house with enough space for all to allow for separate spaces. When contacted we were told that we would need to pay extra if we wanted the space. VRBO needs to update their policy for listing. Only the renter should determined what space can be used. This property should be listed as two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

First of all - Were so sorry about the confusion. This beautiful home is larger than most of our clients need, so instead of asking everyone to pay for the entire home, we offer it in portions- according to how many you need to sleep. Our description states this clearly.
There are three separate beds available in two bedrooms and two full baths - for the base rate. We base opening up more portions of the home for our clients who need the extra space on their number of guests, because thats the only automated way to set up the self serve option to add the additional space. Its more normal for a group of three to be satisfied entirely with just the two bedrooms, but weve had guests who chose to claim 5 guests anyway, just to get the extra third bedroom and bath. Stating you have 6 guests adds on another small fee to allow the beds on the porch...all just as our description states.
I offered this group the opportunity to correct the sleeping issue they personally had, but she refused. Reading the description is important. This is a $400 per night property that you can use 70% of for only $249. If you really need the rest of the space for any reason, then add it on. Im always available for questions. Jonathan

Absolutely gorgeous location on the river - with fantastic patio. A few issues that kept it from 5 stars.1. "Gotcha Pricing". Booked a year ago - and thought I had rented the house. The day before we arrived - we get a message, "do you want to rent the 2 optional rooms?" No communication about this for a year... and then the day before we arrive, the price essentially goes up 50%. I had missed it in the fine print... but it felt like "gotcha".2. Horrible water pressure for all 6 days. No communication until I reached out. The response was, "Yes, we know - we are getting it fixed after you leave."

First of all, we are so sorry you had to experience our sudden water problem! Thats not what we planned for you and we really are sorry. We were told it would be resolved that day, but it wasn't anything easy or normal that happened....we had a leak on the water main from the well to the pressure tank and filter. That turned it into a longer time period to correct it. At least there was still water pressure available and we were grateful for that. Its all correct now.
As for the pricing concern...the beginning of our description spells it out very specifically. However, we are sorry about the misunderstanding.
We continue to offer the nicest property here known for it's cleanliness and quick service from the manager.
