About this property

Lake Michigan Sunset View Cottage, Tunnel of Trees, Good Hart. Easement to Lake.

Secluded four-bedroom cottage for rent on 4 acres. We are 12 miles north of Harbor Springs on scenic M-119, the nationally-renowned "Tunnel of Trees" in Good Hart, Michigan. The location is a favorite for cyclists (e.g., the last leg of the DALMAC bike tour). It is also a favorite for fall color tours. It has spectacular Lake Michigan views, with numerous deciduous hardwood and softwood trees and evergreens.

Nearly 2,000 sq. ft., the house features beautiful sunset-facing Lake Michigan views from most rooms. Our setting also features a nice sunset-viewing deck with a fire pit. Given three living spaces, the cottage layout is excellent for multi-generational or multi-family use.

There are four bedrooms and three full baths. Two have bidets. The main bedroom has a king-sized, luxurious pillowtop bed, high-quality towels and bed linens, a walk-in closet, and an adjoining full bath. There are three queen-sized pillowtop beds in the remaining three bedrooms—a contemporary finished basement that includes a game room with a hide-a-bed and roll-a-way bed, and 3rd bathroom with a shower. The home can be used as a remote and secluded home office. High-speed internet, a printer, and some office supplies are provided. Have Lake Michigan as your view!

The kitchen has a refrigerator, gas oven/range, dishwasher, microwave, and a tight table that seats six. Additional seating is available in the spacious living room (up to eight). We also provide a portable table and chairs. However, please keep in mind that our desired maximum rental capacity is eight persons. The main floor has a washer and dryer. There are 4 HDTVs throughout the house (including a 62-inch TV with a surround sound stereo system in the basement). There is one TV equipped with Apple TV and three with Roku (available to stream Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, etc., plus local TV channels) and Blu-Ray DVD players, four stereo systems, and a basement gaming area with a ping pong table and a card table - offering all the creature comforts of home. The cottage owner supplies bed linen, bath towels, cooking, and eating utensils.

The house is 400 feet from the Tunnel of Trees (M119) on a heavily wooded lot offering secluded privacy. The private beach easement is located below the property. Two township beaches are within one mile of the cottage. These access points allow for nice beachcombing—plenty of public and semi-private golf courses within easy driving distance. Recreational inland lakes (Burt Lake, Crooked Lake, Pickerel Lake, Larks Lake, Douglas Lake, and others) are nearby. Renting a boat and floating on the Inland Waterway is an excellent summer adventure.

There are lovely, unique shops and a General Store within walking distance.

The cottage is 20 minutes from Boyne Highlands golf and skiing (weather permitting). It is a mere seven miles south of the famed Legs Inn, Cross Village, and eight miles north of Pond Hill Farm and Harbor Springs Winery. Enjoy glass blowing at Good Hart Glass Works or crafting at Three Pines Studio.

This property has a game camera located away from the house. The game camera picks up plenty of deer and driveway traffic.
