Beautiful Private Sandy Lake Michigan Beach Cottage -WiFi

Our cottage is located in the middle of the beautiful sandy beach of Trails End Bay, on Lake Michigan.

Trails End Bay is really one of the most beautiful beaches on this part of Lake Michigan. Trails End Bay is located just West of Mackinaw City at the Straits of Mackinac. The sandy beach and clear water is perfect for swimming and water sports.

We have WiFi internet with 100 Mbps download/upload speeds! To go with that we have a Roku digital media player that offers access to streaming media content from various online services

Our two-bedroom, 1 bath cottage, includes an open floor plan with a large living room and kitchen with an eating area. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds to accommodate four comfortably. The kitchen features a refrigerator, electric range, built-in microwave, garbage disposal, and dishwasher. The cottage faces West which opens it up to the gorgeous views and spectacular sunsets of this part of Lake Michigan.


The Mackinac Straits Area is the home of several National Historic sites including Mackinac Island. Mackinaw City attractions include, the Mackinaw Crossings outdoor mall, the Odawa Casino, numerous shops and gift stores. Not far is a live evening lumberjack show. Mackinaw City is also the gateway to Michigan's Upper Peninsula via the 'Mighty Mac' Mackinac Bridge and ferries to Mackinac Island. While in Mackinaw city you can tour the Ice Breaker Mackinac, Colonial Fort Michlimackinac, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse and other attractions.

The Headlands International Dark Sky park is located less than a mile and a half from our cottage. From our beach we share the same view of the night sky offered at that park.

Moose cabin was spectacular!

The beach was amazing, this location is just wonderful. The owners were so responsive and helpful. The welcome gift was so cute. 10/10 around the board on this one!

Excellent stay

Moose lodge - absolutely! Great stay, informative book, super communication and relaxing. Close to Mackinaw city and bridge. Be sure to bring bug spray or bug tent as it is near the woods. Lake Water is cold - as expected. House has hot water. Clean, provided towels, sheets and garbage bags. Games and a few movies too. Even provided a welcome gift - unexpected and appreciated. Will definitely keep this place on my list.

Peaceful, relaxing, beautiful

We enjoyed this comfortable, well-appointed cottage with a lovely view across the yard to Lake Michigan. The sun sets right in the middle of that view in August. The beach is nice for walking and the water was nice for plunging. We appreciated how very quiet it was. The queen bed was comfortable and cozy. Bring beach towels and maybe an extra blanket for chilly nights, though there is a good heater. We did not need to use the air conditioner. The kitchen is well-equipped, but there aren't any spices, coffee, condiments, etc., so bring what you need. The charcoal grill worked well. Communication with Dick & Sue was easy & prompt. They are very good hosts. This is one of the nicer VRBOs among the many we have rented.

Dream cottage

We rented this cottage to stay with the grandchildren ages 6, 3 and 5 months while their parents moved to Cheboygan. It is immaculate and well stocked with quality appliances, bedding, towels and many extras like cleaning supplies, paper towel, trash bags.... It is clear the owners take very good care of this property. There was even a welcome bag with some delicious Michigan treats waiting for us. The décor is a whimsical Moose theme to include children's books and DVDs. We cooked almost every meal and we had everything we needed. The beach side has a sliding door and 2 large windows which provide a perfect view of the water and beautiful sunsets. Windows and window treatments are also clean and high quality. We came to just enjoy the beach and it felt like home. The outside was just as well kept. Paul, the grounds keeper, had everything perfect for our arrival down to raking the beach, setting up and wiping down the chairs and picnic tables. He was very friendly, helpful and checked in with us periodically to see if we needed anything. It is clear he also takes care of this property as if it were his own. Hose next to the beach side entrance for spraying off sand was very handy and up on a holder so it could be easily accessed. The beach was perfect for our grandchildren - shallow, smooth, no rocks or weeds. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and will likely return since our kids now live in Cheboygan. It is close to everything Mac City has to offer.

This is a great getaway spot. Super clean, easy to find, and exactly as described. Awesome sand beach, clean water to swim in, and I probably have 10 different sunset pictures on my phone! Great communication with the owners. 5 stars across the board.

Great Little Cottage

We absolutely loved the Bull Moose Cottage. It fit our family of four perfectly. The cottage had a great sandy beach and the swimming was perfect. We spent a lot of time at the beach and can't wait to come back. Great location to base day trips to the U.P. and surrounding areas.

Sunsets at the Moose

What a gem this was! We were so impressed and happy as soon as we walked in the door to Moose Cottage! It was very clean and the the open floor plan is perfect for families. The furnishings are comfortable yet easy to care for which is very important with young children coming in and out all day. My boys, ages 5 and 10, had such a fun time playing on the beach and swimming- they were very sad to leave! The cottage was also very well equipped with puzzles, games, movies and books to entertain the kids at night and on rainy days. For the adults the sunsets were the most beautiful you could ask for and the peaceful sounds of the waves on the beach made it a truly relaxing place to stay. We would not hesitate to stay here again and look forward to doing so one day :)

Wonderful cottage!

We very much loved our stay at Moose Cottage. The photos in the listing don’t do it justice. It is lovely and peaceful and comfortable. Plenty of space for our party of three to spread out. Great communication, perfectly clean and gorgeous sunsets. What more could you ask for?

Wonderful property right on the beach. Beautiful sunsets and walks along the lakeshore. The kitchen has everything you need for meals on site if you like - the fire pit is wonderful under the stars. Comfy all around.

Perfect Lakeside Cottage

My husband and I stayed here during August for our Babymoon! The cottage was just what we were looking for- right on the lake, small private beach, secluded, and near Mackinac City! The cottage was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. I have already recommended this stay to some friends. We will be back! :)

A lovely home with Lake Michigan in your backyard

It's a very clean home with well stocked kitchen. We loved having the lake in our backyard! We enjoyed having dinner outside, making smores at the fire pit, looking for stars, and the kids swam in the lake. It was also a very short easy drive to Mackinac Bridge. We were able to head to the UP on a few different days and visit Soo Locks, we did a Pictured Rocks cruise and checked out St. Ignace. We also spent a day at Mackinac Island, went to Petoskey beach and stayed in town one day. It was always relaxing to come home and make dinner and sit near the lake in the evening. My kids also loved the collection of board games and movies. A very relaxing place to stay, a home away from home. :)

Hidden Gem

We had a wonderful week swimming and relaxing. The sunsets were amazing and the home was so comfortable. It was immaculate when we arrived and the kitchen had most everything you could think of. You are very close to the ferries for Mackinac Island and of course close to the bridge to get to the UP, making day trips very easy. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Very clean, very comfy, all the amenities of home with a beautiful sandy beach to walk on plus lovely sunsets. We would highly recommend this rental and would consider renting it again.

Fantastic place!

Great place to stay

A very clean and comfortable cottage. Great sunset views, quiet and a great place to relax. The owners were great in their communication & willingness to help. Short drive into Mackinaw City & it's entertainments & places of interest. Then at night you can see a great display of the night sky. A real gem in the tip of the mitt!
