Our family had a wonderful spring gathering at the mountain retreat for my husband's 70th birthday! There were things to do for ALL ages. Everyone had a great time. Teresa has obviously put some thought and effort into providing whatever you might need. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend there to check out the area more.
This was a beautiful home with more than enough room for a big group. The basement had an entire second living space that could accommodate the whole family. We appreciated all of the little things that were provided like the condiments, recycling services, and gaming area. The kids loved the playroom and the hot tub was clean and well maintained. The host was so accomodating and welcoming and quick to respond to messages. All the little touches in the home made it a very special place to stay. Thank you for sharing such a lovely space with us!
Well stocked home with everything you could imagine available. The playroom was a huge hit with my daughter and nephew, and the property had plenty to keep us entertained for a low key Christmas with family. Theresa is an amazing host, very responsive and helpful. The trip was great and everyone agreed the house was a beautiful place to stay!
Great place to stay! Had everything we needed to stay including high chairs and baby gates for stairs! The kids enjoyed the toy room and had a blast. Host was super nice and always answered questions very quickly. Would definitely stay again.
This is an excellent property! It is up in the mountains, it is a peaceful and quiet setting. I enjoyed listening to the wind chimes and drinking my coffee from the deck in the morning. This house had everything you would need and more for a family with small children, older children and pets. Theresa thought of everything. She checked on us a couple times and the check-in and check-out process was easy. The hot tub was clean and hot when we arrived. There were all kinds of activities inside and outside to keep entertained, including foosball, air hockey, a toy room for younger kids, cornhole, horse shoes, and volleyball outside to name a few. The property was as described. The kitchen also was very well stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals. Linens and towels were provided. The beds were comfortable. There is a Walmart about 15 minutes away and about 25 minutes to Chattanooga. We enjoyed our trip and I would love to come back again sometime.
From the moment I walked through the front door until the moment I closed it behind me on the day of check-out, I felt like I was HOME but without all the responsibilities. The house was well-stocked, and the host didn't miss a beat on any of the personal touches. We needn't bring anything but our own clothes, toothbrush, and a smile. The stay was comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely return! In fact, one of my fellow guests suggested we make it an annual vacation.
Our stay was so enjoyable. The home was ample enough for our party of 7. The home was well stocked from trash bags, napkins and cookware. The home is not too far from local attractions. We had a great getaway. Everyone wished we could have stayed longer.

This is our top VRBO. The host was amazing from her welcome note, to the thoughtful amenities, and beautiful home. Everyone was outside playing horseshoes, swinging in the tree swing, playing Frisbee golf, walking the nearby trails. There was so much to do outside. The inside was clean and was the best stocked kitchen in any place we have stayed in staying in VRBO for over 10 years. The table sat 10 people, and we played family games for hours. My grandsons were so excited to have a campfire. The host had even set up the fire pit ready to go. Everyone agreed we need to stay here again. Thanks, Theresa for making our stay so wonderful!

Loved public & private areas of house
Enjoyed big expansive deck overlooking the woods
The proximity to walking and hiking trails was great
Host very welcoming.
We had such a great time at this place. Theresa was an amazing host and was very easy to communicate with. The place was plenty spacious and the amenities were perfect for a bigger group! We will definitely be back.
Theresa is a wonderful, welcoming host. The house was clean and full of natural light. The view from the back deck was beautiful: a perfect place to be lazy and enjoy the quiet and sights of nature. We loved every minute we spent here. If you want to walk the neighborhood (the roads make for nice paths), wear good shoes so the gravel doesn't hurt your feet.
Best place I've stayed regarding preparation and stocking of anything a person might need. Very clean and well appointed. If you forgot to bring something, there is a good chance it is already there!
Perfect setting for our stay near Chattanooga. House was beautiful and our family of eight was very comfortable. When we are in the area we will definitely stay there again. The host was very helpful with all of our needs.
We enjoyed the space this property provides along with its private setting outside of the main city. The host was very flexible with check in and out times and it would’ve been very easy to spend even more time here. Beds were also very comfortable. All around a wonderful experience!
Theresa was helpful and responsive from the beginning, before during and after our stay. The house was amazing. There was plenty to do there without ever leaving! The home was beautiful, accessible for an 85 y/o in a wheelchair and her daughter with MS that uses a walker. Perfect place for families!
We had a great time in Theresa’s home. The trip exceeded expectations and was relaxing and great for families. The home is extremely organized and had everything you would need! Proximity to Chattanooga was perfect. We hope to return for another trip!
This was the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Mgmt was great and very communicative. They really had everything we needed and the house was clean and organized. Perfect place for families that have someone with mobility issues. 25 minute ride to Chattanooga was super easy. We cannot recommend this place enough.

About the host
Hosted by Theresa A Averbeck
This 40-acre private subdivision was created by a vision of my son, Cody, after discovering it from climbing and developing the Deep Creek climbing access and sharing interest with the connection of the Cumberland Trail through out Tennessee. There are currently 4 homes in our neighborhood with 3-5 acres separating each, thus a back to nature experience sharing the land with deer, turkey, an occasional bear and mountain cat. I am an outdoor enthusiast and want to pay it forward sharing my home with families that want to reconnect, relax, and experience nature.

What makes this property unique
Walkable outdoor activity from the back door of this cabin including: rock climbing, hiking, trail running, fishing and swimming about 4 miles away. The area is associated with all the fun times that the town of Chattanooga has to offer. For the adventurist, look into white water rafting on the Ocoee, Nantahala, or Hiawasee Rivers. Caving at Ruby Falls and Hand Gliding at Lookout Mountain. Bouldering on top of Mowbry Mountain, sport climbing at Deep Creek and Lower and Upper Leda also on Mowbry. Guide books at the cabin to use as well as clip stick and crash pad. When the rainfall is adequate, the Big Soddy creates fun family hiking and swimming along the creeks. The Tennessee River offers swimming, fishing, at Chester Frost Park and Irwin Marina. My parking area is suitable for boat parking, and can park 15 cars.
