About this property
Beautiful 6 BD/3BA Private Historic Home in Pastoral Setting
Beautiful classic Cape Cod country home with gardens and screened-in porch.
Perfect for large families or groups. The L-shaped house has two wings with a large kitchen and a screened-in porch in the center. It is surrounded by a large yard with beautiful gardens, fire pit, and many corners to discover. A five minute walk to a small beach and landing with access to Wellfleet Harbor, and a five minute drive to Atlantic beaches and Town center. A nearby wildlife area has numerous walking trails.
The space
The house is L-shaped, with the kitchen at the heart. The north wing is the original house, built in the 1850s, with a dining room, living room, bathroom, and bedroom (1 queen) on the first floor. Through the living room and up the original spiral staircase you'll find two more bedrooms (1 queen and one with two XL twin beds), a bathroom with shower, and a sitting area. The west wing contains a bedroom (1 queen) and bathroom on the first floor, and two bedrooms (1 queen and one with two XL twin beds) on the second floor. The upper floors of the two wings are not connected. The large kitchen has high-end appliances, a breakfast island, and a laundry nook. The spacious and airy screened-in porch is off the kitchen and features a dining table and lounge area. There is an outdoor shower near the screened-in porch. The house is cooled with mini-split units and a few window units, and heated with radiant heat.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire house and most of the grounds, including parking for at least three cars off the main road. A separate groundskeeper cottage and garden shed and the area around them are for the owner's use.
Other things to note
Summer rentals are Saturday to Saturday.
The house was built at a time when people were shorter, stairwells were steeper, and railings were low, so please be careful.

About the host
Hosted by Yanko Sheiretov
I love spending summers on Cape Cod and have been hosting guests at my cottage in Provincetown since 2013. I recently bought this amazing property in Wellfleet and am excited to share it with others!
Why they chose this property
Paine Hollow in South Wellfleet is a quiet rural neighborhood full of large lots and many historic homes like this one. The neighborhood is convenient to Route 6 but just remote enough that you can forget where you are. The wonderful French bakery PB Boulangerie Bistro is less than a mile away and downtown Wellfleet is a five minute drive.
What makes this property unique
This house is one of several comprising the Paine Hollow Road South Historic District. The house was built circa 1850 and is known as the Ebenezer and Catherine Snow Paine house. The previous owners devoted 25 years to developing lush gardens on nearly an acre of land with many corners to explore and plants to discover.
