About this property

The Playful Pelican

Playful Pelican. Ideally located 3 bedroom, 2 Bathroom pool house w. direct access canal in SW Cape Coral. Close to everything - fast river/gulf access, great parks and riding trails and near best dining in Cape Coral. Pool is without screen enclosure, so your view of the canal is unobstructed! We keep the pool at 85 degrees, but can heat it more if you help us with the electric bill. Bring your boat if you like - ample space to put (trailer parking is available).

The house has an open floor plan, so there is a good amount of space in the living room that opens to the pool and canal. The master bedroom is on one side of the house and the guest bedrooms are on the other side.
Note: we have high speed internet, but no cable. Guests will need to use their own login to access Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and other streaming services. We do have an antenna for some local channels in the living room.

Guests can use the entire home, except the garage. We are using it as storage. We will keep it locked from the garage. It is unlikely that we will need to access the garage during your stay, but it is possible. If so, we will provide notice that we need to enter and will let you know when we are gone.

We love happy guests, so let us know if anything needs to be changed/updated/added. For non urgent requests/comments, email communication is preferred. We will provide our phone numbers in the guest packet for any urgent requests.

Very nice home! It was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Perfect accommodations for myself and husband, teenagers and in-laws. The boat dock made it easy to bring our boat and head out for a quick cruise any time of day. The pool was heated to a perfectly comfy temperature for a winter trip. The homeowner was very responsive and thoughtful in assuring we had a pleasant stay. I highly recommend the Playful Pelican.

Perfect and Restful!

This home is beautiful, clean, and restful from the moment you step inside the door! There is a lot of natural light, and the view is beautiful over the canal and pool in the back yard. It is spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The owner is very quick to respond if there are any questions, and checkout procedure is very simple. We really enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing Vacation

Playful Pelican is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to all the amenities SW Florida has to offer. We appreciated the simple traffic near us, the abundance of walking paths, the heated pool, and the restaurants nearby (not walking distance by close car rides). Corey responded within minutes to any texts we sent and was very accomodating with any requests. I would highly recommend Playful Pelican!

All the amenities and then some….

The owner was very accommodating and let us check in earlier than the normal check-in time. The house is beautiful and very clean. It had a fully stocked kitchen and had extras like pool towels, beach towels, and pool noodles/floats and life jackets for the kids. The neighborhood is amazing and the neighbors were really friendly and even cheering on the kids for catching fish in the canal (in the backyard of the house). This house has something for everyone. The guys loved fishing out in the backyard and us ladies loved the in ground pool.

Great Stay!

We had a great time at the Playful Pelican. The kitchen is well-stocked and made cooking for Thanksgiving easy. There were a few blown lightbulbs that need to be replaced, and there didn’t seem to be a way to turn on the pool light. Other than this few inconveniences, our stay was fabulous.

What a great vacation house

We loved this house and the neighborhood. Very close to walking trails, playground for the kids. We took a family hike and had a great time. There is a butterfly sanctuary close as well as a Rose Garden. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate for the pool but beautiful pool and very clean. What a great place if you are looking for something relaxing with lots of things close by if you’re interested.

A great week

To start the weather was fabulous which led us into the pool w/out the heater. The solar cover did the job. We had easy access to all the major highways which led us to visit Naples & Marco Island. There are great waterfront restaurants in the area also.

We had a nice stay but I didn’t like the cameras by the pool and we got bit up real bad from the noseeums. We used spray and yard guard. Not sure what else we could have done to prevent it. Overall very nice house and very clean. Which i appreciate.

Not as advertised but still beautiful

The house itself was nice inside. Nothing above average. The house stays pretty cool. The pool isn't protected from sun or bugs so that was a big big disappointment. Owner also advertised as having boats and bikes available which were however at an extra cost that wasn't listed on the original ad. Had I not quickly picked last moment i definitely wouldve chosen something else but I guess it wasn't terrible.

Perfect Getaway

This property is more than it says. It’s beautiful, up to date, everything inside and out is perfect. The house was very clean, had everything we needed. The pool was perfect! We saw two dolphins swim by, and we were able to catch several fish. The teens were able to enjoy the kayaks which aren’t stated, nice surprise for us. We are considering this exact house yearly. It’s very peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. We can’t say enough good about the house.

Don't look any further, this is the home you want to reserve...

This home was perfect for our family. The house was very clean and included many extra amenities. Plenty of space with a great patio, deck area and pool. It’s in a great location with easy access to shopping and plenty of restaurants. The hosts are great and had great communication. We won’t consider staying anywhere else when we visit in the future.

All the comforts of home

The house was great! The house had everything to be very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Paper products, bath tissue and several spices were a pleasant welcome. The pool was great as was the location. The home had great walking paths, parks and shopping within a very short distance. We totally enjoyed our stay!

We are originally from Illinois and moved to SWFL 13 years ago. We LOVE it when guests enjoy our home. We lived in the house as we recovered from Hurricane Ian, so we believe we have everything in it that our guests need to enjoy their stay, but we are eager to hear additional suggestions. PLEASE let us know if there is something that we can add/move/change to make future guests have an even better experience.

Why they chose this property

We live in the neighborhood and believe it is one of the nicest in Cape Coral. It offers scenic walking paths (check out the nature walks in Rotary Park) and is close to everything. The bike/walking path connects the house to Rotary Park and Tarpon Point Marina (restaurants, shops and the Westin). The neighborhood is very active, so you will see your neighbors out for walks/rides on a daily basis. The water access is excellent and we can accommodate most sizes of boat.

What makes this property unique

Our location is probably our most unique and beneficial characteristic. We are tucked away from the main roads, but are still close to the main attractions of Cape Coral and the rest of SWFL.
