Whether you're seeking adventure or relaxation, our home is ideally located for enjoying the area's top attractions: In the winter there is skiing and tubing at nearby Mohawk Mountain and scenic cross country skiing and snowshoeing. In the warmer months enjoy lake activities, hiking on the Appalachian Trail or various other trails, horseback riding at nearby stables, tennis at the town courts, berry picking, e-bike rentals, rafting, kayaking, wineries, and shopping at the many local farms and farmers markets. Or take a short drive into one of several nearby towns for artisan coffee, fresh-baked goods, delicious dining, and charming local shops and antique stores.
Our house is in Litchfield Hills just 30 minuets south of MA Berkshires. It overlooks the Housatonic River and across the river is the historic Appalachian Trail, where you can walk to Sharon or Kent. It is completely secluded on 13 acres which are in conservancy, but conveniently located off route 7 and only 9 miles from Kent & Sharon.
It's a 2 hour drive from NYC or accessible from NYC on Metro North's Harlem Valley Line. You can park at the Wassaic, Dover Plains or Harlem-Wingdale train stations and also rent-a-car at the Southeast station.
Cornwall has been named the greenest town in the Northeast by the EPA. It's three separate hamlets, Cornwall, Cornwall Bridge, & West Cornwall. There's a package store, library, general store, covered bridge, bookstore, shops & restaurants.
