This property was very bare bones. It is listed as a cabin, so possibly I expected more than I should have. We also had a lot of difficulty figuring out which unit was the correct one. I may have missed it, but I could not find a unit number in the information supplied, and all of these units look the same. I had to call the host, and did get a very quick response.
We’ll kind of a city. Great place fun fishing on the dock. Easy to rent a boat or get a guide. Thanks we will stay longer next time when fish are biting!
Small space but perfect for 2 or 3. The location nice, on a canal where we saw multiple different species of birds. The night sky was nice for star gazing. We love the little town of Everglades City which is perfect for getting to Big Cypress Park, Loop Road (highly recommend taking) and for a day trip to Marco and Snapple. We will be back!
quiet dead end street with fishing on own private dock steps from home, everything appeared to be newly redone and well thought out, walk to restaurant & bar

Overpriced as compared to other properties stayed in the area

Response from VrboOwner on 27 Mar, 2025
From the owner: "Hi Kathleen, Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you felt the property was overpriced. We regularly check local rates to make sure we’re offering good value—our pricing is typically 20–25% lower than nearby motels during peak season, and guests get a full home with a kitchen and private outdoor space. While we haven’t received similar concerns in the past, we understand that value can be subjective, and we’ll keep your perspective in mind as we continue to evaluate our pricing."
Comfortable, relaxing place to rest up between our Everglades adventures. It was challenging to locate the property, as we arrived after sundown. The house number is not obvious, and the lockbox for the key is smaller than I was expecting. Once we figured it out, all was well.

Great for exploring the wildlife
This location was great for my son, who loves to fish. We were able to walk to a nearby shop and buy a fishing pole and all of the supplies he needed to fish for days. He caught a good amount of Red Snapper. We were very close to a good selection of airboat rides. Plan ahead when it comes to meals; it was difficult to find a restaurant open past 7pm. Groceries were very limited.
The ajor concern was deadbolt not operational due to a door jam which appeared to be a past break-in. Also the outdoor screened room had splits.

Hi Tammy, we want our guests to feel safe and secure during their stay, so we take your concerns seriously. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to clarify the following:– We checked the deadbolt after your stay, and it's fully operational. Please rest assured, there’s never been a break-in at the property.– The screened-in area sustained damage from a recent hurricane, and all screens have now been repaired. We appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve for future guests.
We had a great time on our visit. We live in Florida, so it was a tiny getaway. We enjoyed the property. There were 2 chairs and a sleeper sofa that were added to the cabin. It was very comfortable and had everything that was needed. The lanai was wonderful to be able to relax in. Being on the water was an additional treat. I was surprised one morning when I saw 3 dolphins swimming by. There are several restaurants with fresh seafood. We did a local airboat tour and saw many gators. It was fun. The one thing I will warn people about is the mosquitos. They are brutal. Have your spray ready. Thank you to the hosts for providing very nice accomodations.
This place is perfect for an Everglades getaway...right on the water and close to all restaurants. My husband and I go to this area every year for my birthday and we would certainly stay here again!

Cozy Cabin in the perfect location!
This cabin was newly updated and in great shape, had everything needed for our stay. Large TV’s in all rooms, full size refrigerator and kitchen. Nice outdoor sitting area, and dockage. Great location, less than 5 min drive to anywhere in Everglades City, and a restaurant and bar within walking distance. Highly recommend this little piece of paradise, we will definitely be back!!
