Family Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we originally booked our vacation, we specifically chose a condo next door to our family’s two units—one for my in-laws and another for my sisters-in-law. Because we have two young children who nap and go to bed early, being close to our family was extremely important. It would have allowed us to spend time together while the kids slept.Unfortunately, when we checked in, we learned that our reserved condo was unavailable and that we had been moved to a unit on the top floor, away from the rest of our family. This was extremely disappointing and caused us to miss out on valuable family time during our vacation. To make matters worse, construction was taking place on the roof directly above our unit, and the noise disrupted our children’s naps.We understand that unexpected issues can arise, but the location of our condo was a major reason we made this reservation. Overall, the room change and construction noise had a significant negative impact on our stay.We did however really enjoy the beach and the pool.

Lovely property

Clean and well maintained property. Beach was easily accessible and pool was wonderful! It was very easy to check in and out.

What a view!

FANTASTIC View of the water, Location and Amenitites! Check-in / Check-out was very easy. They don't miss a beat. The beach is very close and they have chairs/umberella ready for you to use. Front desk staff (Alex/Betsy) were so very helpful. Great property, can't wait to go back. The condo is 4 stars for cleanliness (could have been cleaner) the propery is 5 stars, they were constantly cleaning public areas.

Fun for the family

Perfect for our family getaway!

We had an amazing time! The condo was fully equipped with everything we needed! The bed wasnt too comfortable, but beyond that we had a great time! We even found a little hermit crab in the condo. Looks like the family before us must've bought it and it got out. Well it re-emerged and now we have a new pet named Pete.

The fact that twoChairs were included was also nice, but you had to wake up early to ensure you got them especially ones that weren’t four rows back. The kitchen was outdated. The master bathroom had a sliding door to close to get in the shower, that was very difficult to move as well as the pantry closet being difficult to open. The beach view was nice and front desk staff was friendly.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the kitchen and sliding doors. Please note that you stayed in one of our Bronze-Level units, which is our basic, non-upgraded option. These units are priced accordingly for guests looking for value over luxury, but we’re always working to ensure they are clean, functional, and comfortable. Destin Family Vacation

The Islander resort was very clean, quiet and had a lot of great accommodations; specifically the linen exchanges, along with 2 beach chairs and an umbrella set up for you daily at the beach. The condo was clean and it's a very short walk to the beach. The kitchen is a little dated but it had everything we needed to cook with for the week. The only complaint we had is that both toilets would continuously run. We had to constantly fix the handle/stopper to make them stop running. They both should be fixed before the unit is rented again. Overall, we would recommend this condo and the Islander resort.

Reviewer Comments: this property could use some real updates, the tile used as baseboard was falling off, there were 3 roaches in the bedroom by the kitchen, needed more lights everywhere, some lighter paint would have helped, it was just too dark, in general needed some TLC.

Resort is nice - room needs updated and maintenance

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort grounds are nice and it has some great amenities. Many of the rooms are nice - however my room (703) needs some TLC. Wallpaper is peeling off the walls in the bathrooms, closet door was off the track, furniture and kitchen are dated and the kitchen pans are poor quality. I will stay here again - but next time a different room.

Great but could have been cleaner

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love the islander and have always stayed in beautiful condos, we love the 7th floor on the east side. This condo however has a rug that is so dirty, the white parts/patterns are grey. You can tell it’s from filth because the parts under the couch are still white, also the cushions on the dining room chairs are filthy. For that much money for a weeks vacation, the owners should be able to afford a new rug & dining chairs.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in this unit before and have had a good experience. On this trip we noticed the furniture is showing wear and couch cushions do not sit well. We also discovered 4 dead long roach like bugs two under under our bed. The second bath is showing wear with the sliding shower door rusted. The one plus was the tv with HBO.

Great place. It’s always clean , but this stay we had issues

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was very clean. Staff was very nice. When we got there the air conditioning was not working. We stayed 1 night no AC. They tried to fix it then they forgot to reset the circuit breaker. They only comped us for 1 night. We were without AC for 2 nights and 1 day. It’s was 80 degrees in the room.
