JazzFest is a citywide favorite in New Orleans, even with the understanding that it just isn't JazzFest without some rain and mud "festing" mixed in there, too. The Picayune Building is the perfect location for all there is to do, see and eat in New Orleans, a few blocks away and very walkable to any location. Streetcars are not more than one to 3 blocks away to help get you around to other neighborhoods of the Greater New Orleans areas either. If you are here for work conferences, the Morial Convention Center is less than a mile and the Superdome, Smoothie King Center Arena is about 8 blocks away for concerts, events and of course our beloved Saints "Dome" Games. Yes, this location is close to just about everything visitors want to see, hear and eat when in our area. My best friend lives in Collierville and took the train down last year. Marked two things off her bucket list and had a great time. Think about that for your next "adventure" and stay in our newspaper section themed condo "Outdoors and Adventures" again. That week between Christmas and New Years is one of the most magical times of year to experience; the beautiful decorations around town, Christmas in the Oaks, strolling through all of the hotel lobbies all decorated, experiencing our wild weather extremes from 20's one day and using the heat to 70's and air conditioning a few days later and getting a glimpse of how we love to party here with the Sugar Bowl Parade, the fun and excitement that surrounds a Bowl Game in the host city and being able to watch the Fleur-de-Lis Drop on New Year's Eve and fireworks along the mighty Mississippi River ( through the fog makes it even more interesting ). Oh my gosh, never expected the elevator to stop working, on the second floor, They didn't hit that promise of a 4 hour call time, but glad it all worked out, 2 hours later, and you didn't have to carry your luggage down the stairs when it was time to depart for your journey home.
