Exceptional condo in great location

The Aaby condo is large, beautifully decorated, and immaculately maintained - one of the best we have rented in many years visiting Puerto Vallarta and the only one that is even nicer in person than the description. Sue, our host, responded immediately to every message, and Carmen and Saul, our local contacts, were just as helpful. The Icon Vallarta’s employees were also great. Special thanks to Wendy, our breakfast server, who we got to know best. And there was always an available chaise, lounge, or chair around the pools or on the beach, due to the strict rules, which was a first for us - thanks Icon! This will be our first choice on future Puerto Vallarta trips.

Icon is beautiful but may stay in another unit next time!

We have traveled to Vallarta each year for nearly 12 years and have stayed in several different condos and hotels, not having experienced much difficulty in the process as we are respectful families looking for a relaxing time with each other. I recently booked 5 condos at Icon over the holidays for my extended family to stay. All were great in their own ways. Icon is a beautiful property and you feel safe there. Even during the holiday rush, it wasn’t packed with people which was refreshing! With that being said, my family staying in Sue’s condo had trouble meeting her strict requests and to be contacted during our stay more than once was bothersome as you look to disconnect on vacations- especially when it was about such small issues. Sue has her condo set up for families to stay but isn’t very welcoming of them. My advice is if you have kids, stay elsewhere. And to Sue, I would consider only renting to adult parties who do not like going near the beach. Last, I will share that there was an earthquake in Vallarta this September and since then the elevators in this specific condo building (there are 3 total) are failing. My family got stuck in the elevator almost daily and it was scary, especially for the children. We also saw several other panicked families getting out of the elevator throughout the week- just a consideration as this is something that needs to be corrected and doesn’t seem to be a priority at Icon.

Great property and location.

This is a very nice property - close enough to the tourist areas to come and go by taxi affordably and far enough that we felt separated from the hyper-touristy bars and restaurants of El Malecon and Zona Romantica. We loved being able to walk to the local grocery store for supplies. The pool was great and Icon staff were very nice and accommodating. Sue (owner) was helpful and responsive to my text messages and has a nice folder with instructions and recommendations. She recommended that we cancel our rental car, which was the best advice because taxis are so plentiful and easy. Her property manager showed us around the unit and how to use the various electronics, etc. Everything was wonderful. On the "picky" side of the ledger, the need to pay 10 pesos per person for a visitor wrist band seemed a bit petty and like something that should have been included as part of the weekly rental. The room safe didn't work and had a big sign on it saying that it didn't work - so management clearly knows and we didn't report it. Ultimately, we didn't feel that it was necessary, but listing that as an amenity in the advertisement is a bit misleading. Also, this is the first rental we have visited where we were told that we would have to having to pay extra for electricity usage due to air conditioning use in the middle of summer. I'm not sure yet what that ends up adding to our stay but hope that it isn't too much. It kind of left us wondering how much electricity usage is included in the per night price listed on site and charged upfront for our stay. Lastly, unfortunately, we had an 11:00 check out and a 4:00 return flight and the property had no way of holding our luggage so that we could walk to a local restaurant and grab a bite before heading to the airport. Therefore, we just went to the airport early and ate and shopped duty free - not the worst thing we've ever had to deal with. All in all - we would go back and do recommend this place to anyone looking for a place in PV.

Nice Place @ Icon Vallarta

We rented several units throughout the Icon Vallarta for a family reunion and this was one that we had both our friends one week and our family members a different week it’s a nice clean unit directly facing the pool on the third level it was in good shape it didn’t have a ton of upgrades but served our group well the one thing to note is that there are four single beds in the units and one king and if you’re looking for an extra queen bed this unit does not have one

Icon stay

Our stay was a long one! 17 days in beautiful PV. We come every year to a property next door to the Icon where we are owners, but have always wanted to experience a stay at the Icon. Sue and Pats place was clean and communicating with Sue was easy. The ice wasn’t working for our stay so that was something we had to bring in everyday. Other than that the unit was “as described”, nicely furnished with plenty of towels and bedding. The Icon itself was not as expected. Rude security around the pool. Strict pool rules (no pool floats allowed and don’t think about tossing a ball back and forth with your child or anyone else in the pool) and very little choice and bar/restaurant availability. We are used to warm and welcoming and that was not how the Icon and the owners there made us feel. Disappointing, but not enough to let it ruin our vacation. Just info that would have been nice to know before we booked.

This is a beautiful and secure property right on the water. Perfect sunset views and great amenities. We loved the quiet of the hotel zone with a quick taxi ride into town and the Malecon when we ventured out. The condo has a great layout and is very comfortable. The concierge is extremely helpful and overall we had a wonderful stay !

Beautiful Home at the Icon Vallarta

This was my second stay on the Icon property and first at this unit. Sue was really great to work with, very responsive during planning as I had to make a couple of changes to my original plans. The condo was just as advertised, spacious and comfortable. I enjoyed the unit and the Icon Vallarta very much.

Perfect spot for a good vacation

We enjoyed staying at Sue's place. The location of the condo is perfect to lay by the pool, go to the beach for a walk along the sea or even a stroll to the city. Many restaurants are accessible walking distance and the entire facility is super clean with an excellent service all around. We love the idea of having the flexibility of the restaurant so you can go downstairs and have breakfast and lunch at a very reasonable price, or prepare something at the equipped kitchen the condo has. Kids and teens can easily have a good time here and be safe around the property; we booked the cinema for them and enjoyed it. The condo is spacious, perfect for a larger group with 3 bedrooms, great view to the pool and direct access through the elevator. A nice terrace (very few units have this) on the back with a good amount of shade so it's a pleasant place to sit and play board games, etc. It is nicely decorated with a good set of amenities. Definitely a repeat! both property manager and owner (Sue) were really good with any questions or concerns we had. Thank you Sue!!

Lovely spot in Puerto Vallarta

we enjoyed our stay at Sue's place in Puerto Vallarta. Everything worked out well and they were very easy to deal with and responsive. We didn't need to use the AC, but for the short time we did, the ones in the bedroom are quite noisy, so we preferred to use the overhead fan. That is our only complainti.

Excellent accommodation

We were so happy once we arrived at Sue and Pat's beautiful residence as it was perfect for us ( myself, wife, daughter and family friend we call aunty) The first thing we saw once we entered was the outstanding view of the pool and ocean. Carmen the property manager was there on our arrival to fill us in on the areas in and around the property and to answer any questions we had. We enjoyed the beautiful pool and private beach area and appreciated the affordable food and drinks at the Icon. Food was delicious and service was great. We used the gym which was nicely equipped and had a view of the ocean. The location is very central with a short cab ride to downtown or the marina area. Everything exceeded our expectations. We were sad to leave and will definitely be returning ! Thank you again Sue and Pat.

Location: Great - Walking distance to grocery store - 5 mins - Walking distance to town - 30 mins - Walking distance to Marina - 30 mins - Cost of all direction for Taxi - 85 Pesos Unit: Great - Clean - 9/10 - Spacious - 10/10 - Comfort/layout - 10/10 Property: Good - Gym - 7/10 -Spa - 8/10 -Pool - 8/10 - no deep end, although good for kids -Beach access - 10/10 -Staff - 10/10 Our Stay included grandma, mom, dad, 2 kids (5+2). This unit fit perfect for our needs, and the location on the 3rd floor provided a safe deck that over looked the pool area, which provided sun in the afternoon, while kids were napping. It has a private deck in the back of the rooms for afternoon shade as well. Owner, and property manager were fast in responding, and helpful for our needs of late baggage holding, and questions. staff are above helpful at the property.

Perfect!

My wife, 2 adult kids, and I stayed in this beautiful home in March of 2019. Our day started by waking up in the morning and opening up the movable wall to hear, see, and feel the ocean. Since we got groceries from the local store, we could have a leisurely breakfast. Usually exercised alittle before lying on provided beach chairs by pool or ocean while being served by wonderful staff (decent prices). The place is big enough, so all can get ready to go to a fabulous dinner downtown, which is a short cab away. We tried to hit all the places Carmen suggested. This place met all our needs, and we had a wonderful experience!

Everything was perfect,even the property manager!This was our third time staying at the Icon,we absolutely love it there.We will definitely be renting this condo again.We love the fact that you are a short walk to the grocery store and many restaurants,cab rides downtown are also very affordable.Dealing with the homeowners was a breeze they answered our questions right away.If you are truly looking for a great couple or family get away this is the place to stay,you won’t be disappointed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice property

We enjoyed our stay. The stove was not fixed, but that was not a major problem for us. Some of the lights were out. Glad to hear that you are putting in new furniture. The beds could use a foam topper! Nice location, great view. Staff was very helpful.

My husband and I have been coming to PV for years. We just couldn't decide on purchasing a condo in the Romantic Zone or the hotel zone. We found that our property was quiet, no construction and close to everything, especially Costco and Walmart. The malls are easy to travel to on bus or taxi. The friendly staff and top notch amenities sold us.
