Perfect cottage for a quiet getaway with fire pit

The very best things in life are the people we love, the places we go, and the memories we make along the way. Welcome to Celtic Cottage in South Haven.

INSIDE THE HOME

You will feel right at home the moment you walk into this 1950's cottage with all the charm and quirks. Enjoy coffee in the morning, a cocktail in the evening, or just wrap up in a book all day on the three-season front porch enclosed in sunny windows and with bright hardwood floors that extend throughout the home. Whether on the porch, in the comfy living room or in the dining room, there's plenty of room to spread out for space, or gather together for game night.


The kitchen is fully equipped with a range, oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, pots and pans, dishes, linens, and utensils.

The Celtic Cottage comfortably sleeps 7 people with three bedrooms and one full bath. Two bedrooms each offer queen beds and a 3rd bedroom has twin bunk beds and a pull-out trundle.

OUTDOOR SPACE

Outside, park your beach toys in privacy in the fenced back yard complete with a deck, grill, fire pit and plenty of seating for the whole crew to end the day together.

Also, there is a Tiki bar onsite. Enjoy a nice beverage while watching the game or trying your skills as a mixologist. Either way, the Sneaki Tiki Bar is the ideal hangout for a group pf friends or family.

LOCATION

Celtic Cottage is only two blocks from Van Buren trail, a quick 10 minute walk to South Beach and Kid's Corner Park and less than a half a mile to downtown South Haven, where there are unique boutiques and great restaurants.

Great location

The house was very cute with a great front porch and back yard area! The location to downtown and everything South Haven was fantastic! Never had to drive for anything.

Girls Trip

This was a great location for our recent stay in South Haven. The house was even cuter in person, and it was only about a 10-15 minute walk to downtown South Haven. It was clean, although a couple pretty subtle stains were noted on the towels and the sheets. Overall, it was an incredible stay for our group. Would recommend.

Property was very clean. Had some difficulty getting entry code to work and had to call to work thru issue. Turning shower on was different and had to call to figure that out. A full length mirror somewhere in the house would be nice.Overall, it’s a very clean, comfortable house. My dog enjoyed having the fenced in yard to run around in. Would stay there again

Location is close to town, the lake and bike paths. House is clean and well appointed. Only issue is the house next door. Dogs left out 24x7. They bark at all hours. Stressed my dog out. Couldn’t use the yard without constant barking. Also there was a couple who would sleep in their car in the driveway each night. It was rather creepy.

Great place in a great location!

This property was just as described. Very clean. Very well equipped with everything we needed. It was especially nice to have beach chairs and a beach wagon. It is about a 12 minute walk to the beach and about 15 minutes to Phoenix street in South Haven.

Beautiful little home

We had a wonderful stay at the Celtic Cottage, with our kids and grandkids! The cottage was just the right size for all of us! The walk to town and the beach were about 15 minute walks which were just fine! The biggest disadvantage was the dogs next door barked well into the night 3 of our 4 nights.

Perfect for a fun family getaway

I stayed at Celtic Cottage for 4 nights with my kids (6 and 10) and my mom - and it was the perfect location for the 4 of us. The house itself had enough room to spread out but still felt cozy. My kids loved the outdoor tiki hut and the yard games provided, as well as the wide variety of games and puzzles in the house. I was worried the location would be a bit far from the beach / town - but it wasn't at all. We walked to downtown South Haven almost every day and split our beach days between walking / driving. Great stay overall!

Nice cozy home. Loved the big round table for cards and games with friends. Enjoyed doing a puzzle and comfy couch. Beds a little firm for our taste. A little far for us to walk to town and beach (I have arthritis and recovering from cancer). Overall nice experience.

All in all, I would say this property is fine. It is not amazing, but it is not terrible. Location wise, very easy to get to the beach or town. Both are walkable if you like to walk, there are sidewalks and it is easy to navigate. If you have younger children with you, this property could pose a challenge as one of the advertised rooms has a sliding glass door to the deck, which leads right to the driveway, and the door to the basement/back door to the home. It has bunkbeds, which are pictured, but it was unclear (to me at least) that there were multiple points of access from the space, and it is quite isolated from the other two bedrooms. I would also recommend to bring extension cords, it is a charming older home without a lot of outlets and some of the outlets were hard to access as they were behind furniture. Lastly, there was a dog next door to the home that barks all of the time, the first night all night long and then anytime you are in the backyard. If you plan to spend any time in the yard, be advised there will be a lot of barking. The home itself was spotless, very cute and all of the information needed (wifi, etc.) was readily available. I do not think I would stay at this specific property again, but not for any egregious reasons.

The house was ideal for my friend and I as she took the upstairs bedroom and bath while I had the first floor. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. The fenced in yard was absolutely wonderful for my dog! I am already considering staying here again in November. Thank you!

Clean and good location

We enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean and well Decorated. The property was a good location. I would have liked being warned about all the road construction because I have an infant so jackhammering isn’t ideal, though I have to say, the house has great sound proofing.

Home away from home

My family and I had the most amazing experience staying at the Celtic Cottage. The property was extremely clean, and the beds were very comfortable. So comfortable, I just purchased the same mattress! Thank you for your impeccable hospitality, we truly felt at home. I can't wait to return to the Celtic Cottage!
