Underwhelming and unenjoyable

Although communication with the property owner was always easy and quick, the photos from the listing show a much nicer property than what you get. The walls were dirty and the hard floors sticky. The carpets need more than just a vacuuming. Hair and soap was left in the shower from the previous renters. The big hole in the backyard was also not a plus. Needles and used condom wrappers in the parking lot added to the issues. I’m sure the area which is located is great for a group of adults, but not family friendly. Instead of being a nice place to return to once tired from the day, it was an extra stress due to the lack of cleanliness.

Summer Family Visit

This property was pleasant, with plenty of sleeping space for our family. It is located just off of The Grove's main drag, on a quiet street. Dan was great to work with, and prompt in responding to questions.

Not as expected

First of all the host makes you use a third party service that requires a picture of your photo ID and this is not in the listing at all. As a previous victim of identity theft this requirement, if known in advance, would have made me keep looking. Since it was sprung on me at check in I kinda had no choice since I would have been out my entire fee. The single parking spot is surrounded by trash and overgrown brush making the area hazardous. The backyard has a sinkhole right next to the walkway that is a huge safety hazard and the gate to the back yard is missing. The deck to the back door is coming away from the house. The nail in the floor that was mentioned in the June 7 review was still sticking out of the floor as I found out when it cut my foot. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes because it was broken. The bottom rack was missing both front end support wheels and resting on the water jets at the bottom. Food crumbs on the back of the sofa. The second floor toilet seat is round when the bowl is elongated. The bathroom door handle was about to fall off. The TV and Internet were basically useless, TV worked for an hour the third day after constantly messaging the owner and finally getting some results. I just got tried of trying to make things work when the owner showed no interest in helping. Maintenance guy came by to get into for dishwasher, remove nail from floor and fix bathroom door handle but that was the one and only time there was any useful assistance.

It was close to downtown but in a nice neighborhood.there were plenty of beds for all of us to be comfortable.

Great place to stay

Very clean and updated. Easy to communicate with. Loved the space. Beds were super comfortable. Shady backyard was nice. Only darwbacks were there were only 4 plates so bring paperware! And no big pot to cook in.

Talmage Home

The home was plently big for our group of 10, we did not even use one room. It was close to everything we had planned, within 15 mins. We felt safe and it was quiet. We would like to have had access to a broom because kids makes messes and there is one nail on the floor by the bar that needs to be fixed bit otherwise it was great.

Weekend stay

Overall good experience, pretty quiet neighborhood and the house was clean and tidy. Only complaint we had was parking. There’s only one parking spot and other vehicles have to park at various streets a block or two away if you can get an open spot. Other than that everything was great!

Grove Neighborhood

Our stay was quiet and near The Grove. So much in walking distance. Easy to access. Simple accommodations for making our headquarters for the weekend.

The description was right on. The only thing they could improve would be to have two parking spaces since they are large units. Dan was easy to talk to and always got back to me promptly.

The location was great and close to everything we wanted to do. The neighborhood was very safe. The house was very clean and well stocked. No issues, would stay again.

Cozy but spacious

The property had ample space for having private time but also space to gather together. The place needed kitchen essentials espescially if it sleeps 12. One would need to grocery shop and bring pots, pans, and other essentials to cook meals. We enjoyed our stay. The management was very receptive and prompt with concerns and communication. We would stay again. The location was close to numerous places to eat and window shop.

Great place to stay!

Easy check in process, and parking. Location was convenient and easy driving to all must do locations. Very clean and had everything you needed. Dan was a great host and responded quickly to all our questions, we had severe weather while we were there and Dan allowed us to use the basement during a tornado warning. We would definitely stay again.

We had a great time at this property. It worked well for two families. It was an easy drive to different places in St. Louis. We would happily stay here again.

Historic townhouse with modern touches

The house itself was very charming. It is an older townhouse that has been remodeled with modern fixtures and features. WiFi was provided. Kitchen had most items needed. Location to venues was excellent. We were about 10 mins or less from everything that we wanted to see. Beds were a little on the hard side. Also, bunk bed in laundry room had ladder broken. We ended up not using it because there was no window covering on outside door located in that room. When we arrived house was kind of dusty. We made due with quick clean up. I got the impression that some details were still being taken care of in remodeling. Overall, townhouse was very nice, in great location, with great value. Definitely worth booking!
