The views from the first floor are unmatched. The bathroom to bedroom ratio was great for multiple families. We also enjoyed having the game room. Agree with other reviews that some areas of the house are dated but it would not deter me from recommending this house. Would definitely rent here again.

Can't beat the location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were pleasantly surprised that we could rent this property for the long weekend since the peak season hasn't yet started. Our appreciation for this property and management company continued upon our arrival when we were able to check-in a couple hours early and the pictures proved to be accurate reflections of the house. The location could not be better, right on the beach with great views, decks, and beach access right next door! This was the perfect property for our girls getaway with an open kitchen/living/dinning room concept. Everything was wonderful, with our only minor being the slightly outdated bathrooms and furniture. We still think this property was phenomal and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful view, lots of room

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved staying here. The view is fantastic and you can’t get any closer to the beach. Just a few steps out the back and you’re at the dunes. Five bedrooms and the master BR is gigantic with lots of windows. There were nine of us staying there, including three teenagers, and we had plenty of space for each other. Other reviews will say the furniture is outdated and the house needs some repair let me tell you this was a non-issue. The furniture was comfortable, and the repairs that are needed are cosmetic. I would gladly be this close to the beach at this price instead of being concerned about those issues. We’ve been to Wild Dunes several times and stayed at different places. We’re coming back here next time. You can’t beat the space, view and location at this price.

Lovely family vacation home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family loved our time in this home! The location is perfect- incredibly easy access to the beach. The house is lovely. The air conditioning kept up great with the size of the house. The main level living room would get pretty warm in the heat of the day, but would cool down quickly. We had several hiccups with the property (refrigerator issue and stove issues- both completely fixed) and were impressed by the property management's quick and kind responses. The rooms had great spaces. They upgraded all the televisions and installed a brand new grill the week before we arrived, so that was nice. The downstairs bedroom behind the kitchen got a little warm during the day, as well, but cooled off fine at night. The bonus room upstairs was a cozy retreat for our kids. The kitchen appliances were great. No complaints at all about our stay. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

Rough nugget beautiful location

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house needs attention and updating. The pots and pans are inadequate. There are plenty of dishes, which is good because many of them are cracked. A broken bedroom mirror had to be removed. The The grill was not operating and filthy. The dryer broke and the repair resulted in a operating dryer for 10 minutes. The beds are uncomfortable. The pillows are flat and old. The house is in the very best location, the last on the end of a row and the views are spectacular. We'd stayed in the house a few years ago and I remembered the beautiful beach but had forgotten about the interior. It would be a gem if it was spiffed up.

Island Realty was nice and professional from the time I got the text to come by to pick up the keys and packet for check-in to the checkout. The process was so easy. The house was perfect for our NYE gathering. The only issue I say that people should know is that if you have problems with lots of stairs this may not be the type of setup especially if you have members that are elderly or have disabilities. The house has an elevator but not for use. The furniture on the top floor is dated, but it's enough seating for sure up there, but beautiful views. The refrigerator I read people had issues with it. What I don't think people realize is that the freezer is down at the bottom and the refrigerator part is up top. Found that out the next day when my veggies were frozen along with some drinks... LOL

House Review

This property not only has a magnificent view of the beach but also has easy access to the beach. However, when we arrived, the garage door was up with a large metal beam attached on one end to the garage door and the other end fallen from the door across the entrance to the garage. Therefore, the first thing we had to do was call maintenance to reattach the metal beam back onto the garage door. We could not move it ourselves.In addition, while there is an elevator in the house, guests do not have access to the elevator. The steps up to the main floor were covered with a thin layer of sand. One of us swept the steps and found an extra key under the front door mat. There were lights out in the bathroom on the main level; one forty watt bulb sufficed in that bathroom that had no windows. There was no ladder tall enough and no bulbs for us to change. We had to call maintenance four times during our stay, twice for the garage door, once to remove sand from the clothes dryer, and once because water from an afternoon thunderstorm began steadily dripping into the main living area from the wall around a window. Luckily for the homeowners, we were there to mop up the water. The maintenance man said that it would be a long term, complicated project to fix. The maintenance man came quickly each time we called. Although he cleaned the sand from the front dryer filter area, the dryer still took 90-120 minutes to dry any washed load of laundry. What complicated the time we spent trying to obtain adequate maintenance was the fact that cell phone coverage for the three major carriers is poor at this location at the beach. Mold was bad in the Jack and Jill bathroom on the 2nd floor, and we did not feel comfortable using it. There were significant stains on the carpeting in the pool table area on the top floor. Lighting was poor for reading and playing games. However, if you don't mind spending time each day on maintenance issues, it is a large home with several bedrooms and outstanding views with easy beach access.

Thank you for contacting us immediately and allowing us the opportunity to address the issues you have so kindly reported to us. We understand your frustration regarding the elevator that is located in the house, but the owners of the property do not allow access to the elevator, which is why it is not advertised and why there is a note in the property stating this. As for the sand on the steps coming up to the front door, we hope that you understand that having a property this close to the ocean, combined with the constant breeze, makes it extremely difficult to control the sand. We apologize for your issue with the garage door and have since placed remotes in the check in packet with specific notes on the operation of the garage door. This has been a tremendous help with this issue and we greatly appreciate you pointing this out to allow us to seek a solution to this problem. The salt air has caused some corrosion issues to the windows and doors at the property. We have since brought this to the owners attention and have scheduled the repairs this fall. This is not an easy task due to the height of the 3 story house. It will involve using a lift for access to the area to be repaired. The owners are proactive in the upkeep which is why they will be dedicating time this fall to take care of this. Thank you for making us aware that the dryer not heating. We sent someone out to clean out the dryer vents which resolved the issue immediately. Cell phone service for the three major carriers is poor at this area of the island. This is unfortunately an issue in certain areas of the island therefore the owners have equipped the house with 5 hand held remote control phones for your convenience. We feel that these are certainly issues that needed to be addressed and are taking the steps to remedy all issues. We thank you for taking the time to advise us of your concerns.

Very dated and sparsely furnished the entire first floor had no blinds. Had to sit at breakfast with sunglasses on. Everyone complained about their beds and lack of blinds in the rooms. The four story home has an elevator, but the owner won’t let you use it. Had two women in their mid 70s recently with knee replacement they never saw the top floor. Wouldn’t stay here if it was free.

We do want to note that the photos in the listing accurately reflect the home’s furnishings and layout so guests can make an informed decision prior to booking. Additionally, the elevator is clearly noted in the listing as not being available for guest use. For clarity, all bedrooms in the home are equipped with either plantation shutters or blinds. The large living room windows are intentionally left open to showcase the beautiful views, which many guests—and the owner—greatly appreciate. The owner has chosen to preserve that open, bright feel rather than obstruct it. We understand how important comfort and privacy are—especially in a multi-level home—and we appreciate your comments regarding the beds and overall experience. Spacious Beachfront Home with Stunning Views, but Needs Update.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family recently stayed at 9 Summer Dunes Ln., which was large and roomy, accommodating all eleven family members. The access and view to the beach were phenomenal, and the sunrise over the ocean was breathtaking, guaranteed to wake you up in the morning. The nearby city of Charleston provided excellent shopping and touring opportunities.The kitchen was spacious, featuring a high-capacity refrigerator and freezer, and we found the Viking stove/oven delightful to use. However, be aware that there are no cleaning supplies or spices provided, so you'll need to bring or purchase those. The grill was of good quality and very clean, perfect for our couple of meals. Cooking and dining in the house were enjoyable, with plenty of space to accommodate everyone. Everyone enjoyed using the pool table upstairs during downtime.Overall, the place was clean, but there were some issues. The bathroom drains and jacuzzi tub needed a thorough cleaning, the air vents were extremely dusty, and the artificial plants in the kitchen were also quite dusty. Despite this, all the linens were very clean. We encountered a few maintenance issues during our stay, but the staff at Island Realty were responsive and did their best to resolve them.The house features four full bathrooms, with towels limited to about three sets per bathroom. Extra towels are available for a fee from the management company. Located in the Wild Dunes resort, the house offers access to chair/umbrella and bike rentals. All the bedrooms were comfortable, though the furniture in the living areas was very worn and in need of replacement. The shower in the master bedroom was extremely small and outdated.The Wi-Fi was weak and inconsistent, making it challenging to do any work from the house. The TVs were antiquated, with the master bathroom being a tube TV. Given the many other options available at a similar price point, we would likely look elsewhere for a more updated and and well-maintained property.

Thanksgiving in Isles of Palms

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Views, Location and access to the beach was exceptional and house size was great! However, there was mold on the shower curtains and around the master shower base. Also, stove and freezer were not operating properly.Finally, the furniture in living room and third floor need updating. and freezer did not function well. Finally, furniture needs upgrading.

Beautiful views from everywhere in the house

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house has gorgeous views, right on the beach. The location was great, like something from a movie, but further from restaurants and stores. The house is very big, but dated and in need of some care. Beautiful porches to sit on but very uncomfortable chairs. Light bulbs burnt out. Cranks removed from windows so you couldn’t open them. Dead insects in windows, sand under throw rugs not cleaned up. The garage door spring fell apart trapping our car and the door was so bad panels started to fall apart when maintenance tried to lift it. Had to get garage door company to remove the door the next day. The rental company was very responsive to my calls for help.
