The Neighborhood:
This home is nestled between the thriving artistic enclave of Woodstock and the charming town of Saugerties, creating a captivating destination. Woodstock, a thriving artistic enclave, boasts a rich history of counterculture movements, eclectic art galleries, and craft shops. Cozy cafes and unique boutiques line its Main Street. Nearby, the Catskill Mountains offer hiking trails, and the Esopus Creek beckons kayakers and fishing enthusiasts.
Saugerties continues the enchantment with its Main Street, boutique shops, and cafes. Nature lovers can explore the serene Esopus Creek or venture into the Catskill Mountains. The Opus 40 Sculpture Park melds art and nature, and the Saugerties Lighthouse stands as a historic riverside landmark. Equestrian enthusiasts can enjoy HITS-on-the-Hudson's skillful horse shows.
Beyond, Rhinebeck boasts historic sites, while Kingston offers a vibrant arts scene. Both Saugerties and Woodstock nurture a creative spirit with annual festivals and cultural events. For a blend of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and tranquil reprieve, this Hudson Valley gem is unforgettable.
Getting Around:
Rock 'n' House is about two hours from New York City, and you'll definitely want a car to get there and around the area. In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.
Other Things to Note:
Heating & Cooling: The home is powered by solar energy and uses geothermal systems for heating and cooling. Please note that due to the nature of geothermal systems, it may take some time for the home to fully cool down or warm up during periods of fluctuating outdoor temperatures.
For safety reasons, it's important to note that our home is not child-proof–we do not supply cribs, highchairs, changing tables, and similar items. We do not advise the accommodation for children below the age of 12. If you intend to bring infants or children, please notify us at the time of booking.
PLEASE NOTE: Guest agrees that the rental property is to be used solely for personal, residential, and vacation purposes. Any commercial use of the property—including but not limited to photoshoots, film productions, events, or any activity involving third-party vendors or paid services—is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of Red Cottage.
