Esta majestuosa casa cuenta con 4 habitaciones, de las cuales 3 son suites principales con vista al mar y las del Wright Brothers Memorial. La gran sala, y el techo de su catedral, es espaciosa y acogedora, y el nivel superior cubierto en el porche lo convierte en un gran refugio para disfrutar de la brisa de la playa de Kill Devil Hills.
¡PLAYA DEL RAY es un resort en sí mismo! Con una piscina privada de 50 pies de largo y una meta de baloncesto, ¡la diversión familiar nunca se detiene! Cuando el sol se pone, recuéstate y disfruta de las millones de estrellas que iluminan el cielo nocturno desde una de las muchas cubiertas espaciosas. Nice place with large top floor great room and fenced in pool. This was nearing end of season and it’s definitely showing wear and tear of the many rentals it had. The rugs and furnishings had some stains. The bottom level that had a pool table, bedroom, bath and laundry was very musty smelling. After 24 hrs of running air it improved. We had to clean the bedspreads before use, they were dirty. Mattresses were okay with a separate topper but likely nearing end of life. Ample kitchen supplies (pots/pans/cups/dishes). Place met our needs, pool area with tiki bar was nice.

We woke up to beautiful weather, drinking a cup of coffee on the balcony looking out at the Ocean.We had everything in the kitchen in order to cook breakfast and any other meals. We went to the beach in the early afternoon and then came back for lunch. We would use the pool afterwards and could have a **** tail at the bar by the pool while watching the kids swim. There were a lot of stores within a few miles so that was a convenience!!

I really loved how each bedroom had its own bathroom. Its very convenient. The house really is a gem. The only complaint I have is that the frying pans really needed replaced. We ended up buying one because the Teflon was missing in spots and that's dangerous. Also a few large knives would be nice.

Great property close to the beach

We had a great stay, with plenty of space for our family of 9. Plenty of room to eat and socialize together. We enjoyed the pool and beach is a short walk away.

Nice Home

This home was very well laid out and in general, very nice. It needs some TLC though... The pool is in very poor condition and needs resurfaced. There isn't adequate deck furniture to just sit outside and relax. The location is apx a 5 minute walk to the closest beach access. The view of the Wright Brothers Memorial is nice. With a little sprucing up, I think this house would be beautiful!

Great home worth the stay

I left a raving review on the listing properties website. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH VRBO!!!! We paid over $xxxx more, booking through vrbo rather than going through the listing agency!!!!!! CROSS CHECK YOUR COSTS BEFORE USING VRBO!!!

Great Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family enjoyed our week at Playa del Ray. My 13 yr old and 10 yr were excited to sleep in the bunk bed room on the lower level. My father and husband and I took two rooms on the second level. We were all very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were very clean and a great activity after a day at the beach. The walk to the beach access was not too long. However, we opted to drive and park because we had so many umbrellas and chairs. We never had a problem with parking. The staff at Carolina Shores was very friendly and even went to great lengths to return an iPad that we had mistakenly left. I would recommend this property.

The grill was beyond cleaning so we didn't get a chance to grill out. My initial booking experience with Alexandria was great. When I checked in I assumed everything I asked for was included. Towels were not at the house when we got to the property; had to call the office and ask "where are the towels"? I specifically requested bath towels along with the pet reservation-which were listed side-by-side in the Contract. The pets were picked up in my total but it was explained to me that towels were not. Whomever "entered" my Contract and add-on options did not pick up on towels. Needless to say, I was charged extra for towels AND a second set "mysteriously" appeared. Overall the experience was good... the house was great, the pool was great.

Our stay at Play Del Ray

And the bunk bed room had a full bathroom on their floor. There were a few issues though. It states it’s a block from the beach which is true...a block to a beach access, but then it’s another block walk to get on the beach. The dryer did not work well...it took 3 to 4 cycles to get clothes dry. The pool was nice but there were no lights so at night it wasn’t well lit. Also we had to add water to the pool in arrival because it was low and the jets weren’t working properly. All in all though we had a good week.

Nice house and a 10 min walk to the beach

We rented this for our family vacation with our 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. The house is slightly dated but it was clean. It had all the amenities we like. Every house we’ve rented had board games and cards, this one didn’t. It was no big deal. We just bought a deck. The entrance to the pool from inside was through one of the bedrooms but that was ok be cause we had a 3 year old with us. Otherwise, you got to the pool from the bottom level through the gate. Beach access is about a 10 minute walk. We learned after our first walk, to use the road that runs parallel to beach road. It’s a lot safer. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the house.

Great Stay

We had a great time at this property. I was concerned due to the amount of folks reporting the home was dirty. It was not dirty but be aware you are renting a pet friendly home. The carpets were not great and not something you would want to walk barefoot on but worth it to bring my dog child. Everything else was fantastic, clearn, great location. We had a blast.

Week of Sept 7 review

Check-in was a little disappointing. Showed up about 3:15 pm and was told we could not get the key and had to go back to realty office at 4 pm. At 4 pm there was longer wait, which was ok. However, got to the house and house cleaners knocked on the door about 45 minutes later. They were very kind and nice so we had them come in to do quick cleaning. Question why we could not have gotten the key at 3:30 when we arrived, and told to hang by the pool until cleaners arrived. Also, the ceramic beach dishes are LOVELY, but not microwave friendly. I burnt my finger taking coffee cup out of the microwave - it’s healing now. We had 2.5 days of rain - but allowed time to shop (me and my daughter) and golf (husband and my 2 sons). Overall, we had fun, relaxing week. I would like to return again as the house was lovely and well equipped.

Highly outdated and dirty

We arrived at the house to find dirty dishes, counters that weren’t wiped down, no hot tub, and barely usable WiFi. We spent a day trying to get a internet/WiFi connection fixed - calling the property mgmt multiple times to get a solution. The appliances, TV, decor, etc is at least 15 years old. The place is mostly all carpet which clearly hasn’t been cleaned in years. It felt gross staying there - to the point I wore flip flops while inside and had to wipe down the entire house before settling in.

Ok experience

The house is great! Large bedrooms and great common area space. However, the house was not clean- bathrooms were gross, dirty dishes left behind. No hot tub. Pets allowed but wouldn’t say “pet friendly” because the property is not well kept and not suitable for any dog to walk on.

Great place but for the money....

While traveling during a pandemic we spent more time at the house in the evenings than we normally would. For the price I paid the lack of quality TVs and cable channels was a major disappointment. But we still had a great time swimming in the pool and shooting pool. You should probably take the hot tube references off the listing too.

Lots of space for our family

We enjoyed our stay at this property. There is definitely not a hot tub there and it should not have been in the pictures or description. It was one feature we were looking for in a rental due to health concerns. The Carolina Shores management was very helpful during our stay. I had read other reviews about cleanliness, but the house was very clean. Having a bathroom for every bedroom was very helpful during our stay. The beach is further than it seems because the house is between 2 public access points. It’s about a 10 minute walk. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property.
