Audrey, thank you for your wonderful review! They really do mean a lot to us. I actually get all *wipe eyes* “ No I’m not tearing up, you are” -like when I read good review from our wonderful guests. The no see ums get bad around dusk and def attack people all around the island, it’s crazy how something so small can pack a punch. I was at my home down the road from St. Somewhere the other day and I got bit on the bum by a well endowed mosquito through my board shorts and boxers! Though we do have the roll down shutters we are installing some new doors in the near future when they arrive, we have a few weeks blocked off to have them installed but they will not take away from the view and will still allow the open air concept as well as 3 additional AC units will be installed! You guys have my number so please feel free to give me a shout at anytime, whether it’s about St. John or you’re just bored! Hope to see you in the future, and thanks again. James “JP”

This review is formally disputed and is under active review with Vrbo due to timing violations, factual inaccuracies, and material misrepresentation. This reservation concluded on September 23, 2025. The review was posted on January 1, 2026, more than three months after departure. Vrbo policy requires reviews to be submitted within a defined post-stay window. Any claims presented outside that window, particularly after no unresolved issues were documented at checkout, materially undermine the reliability of the allegations. At the time of booking, the property was clearly advertised and accepted as an open air Caribbean living residence with enclosed bedrooms and open common areas. This design was fully disclosed, intentional, and consistent with island construction standards. Claims related to airflow, heat, or open living conditions reflect a misunderstanding of the listing, not a defect in the property. All concerns raised during the stay were addressed through proper channels and in a timely manner. A maintenance team member was dispatched to assist with reported issues, including damage to personal property belonging to the guests that occurred as a result of negligence. The guests refused assistance, asserted they were the professionals, and prevented authorized maintenance from completing necessary work. Guests are expressly prohibited under the rental agreement and Vrbo terms from repairing, modifying, or interfering with electrical, mechanical, or structural systems, regardless of claimed expertise. The guests also accessed restricted areas of the property, including mechanical spaces, for the purpose of taking photographs. These areas are not part of the guest accommodation and are restricted for safety, operational, and liability reasons. Images taken in those areas are misleading and presented without proper context. There was no monetary settlement agreement related to the claims in this review. Under the booking agreement, the reservation was paid for one to two registered guests. Additional occupancy occurred beyond what was booked and paid for. That discrepancy was knowingly waived at the time in good faith, prior to the allegations now being made, and is currently being addressed through appropriate channels due to the content and timing of this review. Documentation including message history, photographs, service records, and timelines has been preserved and submitted through proper channels. Several statements made in this review directly contradict contemporaneous communications and the documented condition and operation of the property during the stay. Villa St. Somewhere has a long-standing record of positive, verified guest experiences before and after this reservation. We appreciate and thank the many guests who communicate promptly, follow property guidelines, and allow our team to address any concerns professionally during their stay. Their experiences accurately reflect the standards under which this property is operated. This matter is being handled through Vrbo Trust and Safety and Partner Support. The documented facts and policy review are expected to resolve it appropriately.

Hey Jeff! First off, thanks so much for staying with us at St. Somewhere and for your kind words about the villa. I’m really happy to hear you enjoyed your stay! You and your group were fantastic guests, and I’d absolutely welcome you all back anytime. I do want to clear up a little mix-up regarding renting out rooms separately—just to reassure future guests. We’ve been in this business for 22 years, managing over 40 villas, and we’ve never rented a property to multiple groups at once. Whether it’s one guest or six, the entire villa is always 100% private to the booking party. No shared spaces, no surprise roommates—just you and your crew soaking up the island life. I’m guessing the confusion might have come from seeing the owner’s vehicle parked on-site for when he visits with family or friends. As for the cameras, I totally get how it might have seemed like more than usual, and I appreciate you bringing it up. We have three in total, with two solely covering the entry points and one pointed at the sunset view (because let’s be honest, that’s a show worth capturing!). They’re never monitored unless a guest requests it, and all footage auto-deletes after 30 days. Absolutely nothing inside the villa, at the pool, or anywhere private is in view—just a little extra peace of mind for our guests. But hey, the sock cover technique—classic! I gotta give you points for creativity there. That said, I really appreciate your feedback, and I’m glad that overall, you had a great stay. I truly enjoyed keeping in touch during your trip—those pictures and texts were great, and I loved the laughs we shared.
