Lagoon Views

Nice property and it was accurate to the listing. The animals in the lagoon make a lot of noise so pack your sound machines. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable stay. The beach and pool were easy to access and we enjoyed seeing all the different wildlife.

Not The Best Experience

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo itself was just okay. Carpet was stained and smelled strongly of cleaning solution when we arrived. Bed configuration was especially good for our family. Master bed was comfortable. Guest room bed mattress was worn out and uncomfortable. The sofa in LR was hard and worn out to sit on. View was nice - big trees. The pool was dirty looking when we arrived on Saturday. We did not get in it and let the front desk at Palmetto Dunes know our concern. The pool company closed it Monday due to broken pump and it was closed all week. AND we came to find out from the regional director of the pool company the pool was closed when we got there on Saturday but people had moved the signs. Palmetto Dunes front desk said, “It’s open.” Regional director of pool company would say, “It’s closed until Saturday.” And the pool company would put up a sign saying Closed, but people would move the sign and swim anyway. So weird! Why would people let their children swim in a filthy swimming pool? When I asked front desk at Palmetto Dunes for some sort of compensation for the pool being closed they said, “We are not responsible for the pool.” Renters beware! The beach at Hilton Head is not pretty. The sand is black and the water is brown. It is terribly humid there and the mosquitoes will carry you off! We will not return to HHI. We much prefer the Atlantic beaches in Florida.

Week at the beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a nice stay, the unit was clean, in a good location, etc. The main issue was that on our last day, the pool was closed due to an issue with the chlorinator. When we spoke to maintenance and we asked if we could go to another property pool with our kids, they told us our only option was the beach. That seemed unreasonable to us and very disappointing for the kids.

Wonderful stay in Palmetto Dunes

The condo has great views of the pool area and the beach even though we were on the first floor. Parking is convenient. The condo was very clean and the bathrooms were newly remodeled and nice. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at 110 Barrington Court was very nice. Great location and the unit was very nice. I want to point out that the outside entrance light was out as well as the recessed lights over the kitchen counter. Also, upon arrival there was no coffee pot for the coffee maker and a very slow drain in the master bath sink. Looking at the increased prices for 2023 in my opinion are much too high. One other thing I called to request a parking pass for a friend for 2 days. I asked what the charge was and was told no charge since it was only 2 days. Went to pick up the pass and it was not there. Had to go into the office and was told I would be charged $35 for the two day pass.

Nice location - Some Issues

The property was nice. The may problem was that the ice maker and water dispenser on the fridge did not work. Management sent people to fix the problem, but they were not able to fix it while we were there. We had to buy ice and water at the grocery store. There were no trash bags for the garbage can.

Great Oceanfront Condo and Stay

Reviewer Comments: We traveled as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) at the end of June. 110 Barrington Court is a great condo!Location: The balcony faces the pool and dunes/beach and we had easy walking access to both. The first floor unit allowed us to go in and out without having to use the elevator (just a set of stairs). The unit itself was clean and according to our 13yo "so aesthetic". The in-unit washer and dryer were compact-sized but suited our needs in terms of washing beach towels every few days. The living room was comfortable and on our one day of bad weather we were happy chilling inside. Note that the master bedroom mattress was very hard in my opinion. The second bedroom, the kids had no complaints.Barrington Court is near the "end" of the plantation which made biking to Shelter Cove longer but we had a rental car and went all over the island including Shelter Cove and Sea Pines for horseback riding.Activities: We rented bikes and went off plantation along with out to eat (Alexander's which was excellent - they had a Young Adult menu for our older daughter in addition to a Children's menu for our younger daughter!) and many trips to the General Store for candy, ice cream, treats, etc. Tips:1. If you are planning on renting bikes and want to bike at night, bring a few headlamps or lights. The pathways are dark, particularly down by Barrington Court.2. We wouldn't rent an umbrella again - the wind at the beach was steady each day making it tough to use it on a consistent basis.3. Bike to the Dune House restaurant via the beach which is a nice ride (particularly when you aren't fighting the wind) - we went during off-hours like mid-afternoon for early apps/dinner to avoid waiting4. Groceries and essentials - we stopped first at Dollar Tree and picked up staples and things like laundry detergent - then headed to Kroger and Whole Foods to round out the shopping.We would definitely travel to HHI again and wo

We usually stay at Windsor Court but needed to change based on availability for our desired dates. This Barrington unit had the most comfortable beds of any condo we've rented so far. Bathrooms were updated and functioned well. Kitchen was tiny but well stocked. The lower dishwasher rack kept hanging up on something I could not identify, and the stackable W/D unit was very small - issues which were mildly aggravating. Probably biggest change I wished for was a ramp at either end of the beach boardwalk. View very nice (both grounds and ocean), no noise issues, able to see sunrise from the balcony and both bedrooms. Balcony access from main BR. Sun gets off the balcony by lunchtime so you can enjoy eating out there with less heat. Furnishings and bedding were in good shape. Very convenient not having to rely on elevator, with unit being first floor.
