We are glad you enjoyed the amazing location, found the condo clean upon arrival, appreciated the beach amenities provided by the owners, found the primary bed very comfortable, and found our management team consistently quick and responsive. We do want to clarify an important point regarding the front door lock, as the review gives the impression that guests were expected to operate a broken lock. **The lock was not broken.** The instructions provided simply explain the proper way to operate the door and keypad to help prevent an accidental lockout. If those instructions are not followed and a guest becomes locked out, a locksmith or after-hours service may be required, and the associated cost may be the guest's responsibility. Providing this information in advance is intended to prevent that situation: not to threaten guests with additional fees. Similarly, our checkout instructions and potential charges are communicated transparently so guests know what is expected before departure. Guests are absolutely not expected to "do half the work." Professional housekeepers perform the full departure cleaning. Basic requirements such as properly handling dishes, securing the property, and following checkout procedures help our team prepare the home for the next arriving guests. Additional charges would only apply when circumstances create work or expenses beyond a normal departure. Regarding the comments about rust and hardware, oceanfront properties in Hawaiʻi are exposed to an extremely corrosive salt-air environment, which can cause metal fixtures, tracks, and hardware to deteriorate much faster than they would in other climates. We appreciate those observations and will continue addressing maintenance items with the property owner as needed. We understand that our policies may not be the right fit for every traveler. However, they are not arbitrary fees; they are clearly communicated guidelines intended to protect the property.

Thank you so much for your overall great review! We apologize sincerely about the AC troubles you had during your stay. The repair has since been made and it's working great again. We did offer a financial concession for the inconvenience, so truly sorry again about that!
