Sublime was an amazing house. Perfect location right next to the beach. Quiet neighborhood and plenty of room for our family of 5. I fell in love with the house!! We cannot wait to come back to Jeckyll!! Such an amazing vacation for all ages!! Our first trip of many more to come!! Thank you Jeckyll Realty!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great place enjoyed stay, the only negative was the garbage problem. Upon arrival recycle can almost full. Regular garbage picked up on Monday, recycle did not pick up the week I stayed. This caused all trash to be deposited in empty can could not recycle. There was more trash than the one can could hold. Two recycle cans may solve the problem.

Lovely Property & Great Location

The property is absolutely perfect for a family stay! We had 3 generations with us and everyone found the space to be great. Some aspects that were excellent were the close proximity to beach access, easy parking and area to store bikes and beach gear outside, but covered. Inside the home had great space for sitting together for eating, visiting, playing board games, etc as well as a very large and screened in back patio area. The bathrooms were well located by both sets of bedrooms and the rooms themselves were spacious and easy to move around, even for older family members. The kitchen layout worked well for multiple people working together and still being able to chat with others. The only challenges we faced were arriving on a Sunday and being somewhat unclear as to how to access the property. The communication was extremely vague and more clarity ahead of our arrival would have been helpful. Additionally, upon arrival we found one of the toilets not in full working order and one of the beds had used/dirty sheets on it having not been made up/cleaned properly. We stripped the bed and used our own detergent we brought (thankfully) to immediately wash and remake the bed for my daughter. When I reported the problem, the managing company just said they'd let the cleaners know. That was it, so a bit disappointed by the response. Overall however, the home, location and stay was truly wonderful and the owners have done a beautiful job with the home.

Can't go wrong with Sublime

Reviewer Comments: We stayed for 39 days here and although we had cooler than normal weather we had a blast.Everything you will need is already there.the staff at Jekyll Realty was outstanding. We had a problem with the outdoor grill, they promptly came ny and checked it out. By the end of the day they had promised to provide a new one. We thought OK maybe within a few days. By the time we returned from the mainland there was a brand new grill waiting for us. When the weather turned bad and we had bored grandkids, the game closet came thru. Great owners, great management. Ya can't go wrong with this property.

We are always very satisfied with the island and have wonderful memories. However, we most likely will not rent Sublime next trip. The layout was good. But, in need of a deep cleaning and outdoor repairs (shower, hose) Too many knick knacks, dark furniture,inadequate cleaning supplies (old broom). It was very nice to have linens included, welcome bag (with TP!) from JI Realty very nice also.

September 2022 Stay

We had a great time at Jekyll Island. It is one of our favorite places. The house was the perfect size for our growing family with adult children. The kitchen was well stocked. And we enjoyed the screened patio. It was just a short walk to the beach. We will definitely return.

I contacted Jekyll Realty and the power was soon restored. We loved the enclosed porch for eating outside or playing games with Grandkids. Great location close to the beach, too.

Hoping for Better Next Year

Reviewer Comments: We had some significant issues with the property and we stayed for 4 months. It had to do with mold and we suspect it was the problems with the HVAC system and possibly with a new king sized bed we asked for as someone bought it second hane and the mold expert said it had "root mold". We were only able to enjoy full use of the whole house for the last 6 weeks. We were disappointed that response from Jekyll Realty as the representtives they sent seemed not to understand that mold is or could be an issue on an island next to the Atlantic. We have rented it for next year for 4 months again, but will be on the door step of the realtor if we smell the mold. Pl make yourself aware of the smell of mold if you are going to book any house on Jekyll. The problem is not unique to this house.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have overcome the mold problem and the last 4-5 weeks we have been able to use the whole house. I would encourage the owner to replace the single pane windows with double pane, but also replace or at least paint the sad looking front doors. I appreciate historic, but these doors are not historic. Unless you consider a wriggly painted front door with rust oozing out of every crack historic. The house is pretty good overall but, wish they would do something to decrease the echo. The house has a high vaulted ceiling and the echo in the house is awful. Some dampening material in mid-air or on the angled walls would help. Of course, that is only if you actually want to hear what your wife is saying. Maybe that is why there is no sound damping on the vaulted ceiling? This place could be so much better with some improvements, but then perhaps it would be too expensive?

Just want to rent a house that does not have mold.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we first arrived in Dec/21 at Sublime we had not experienced mold in close quarters & didn't know what it smelled like except musty. We also thought mildew was the lesser of mold, but discovered they are the same thing. We complained to Jekyll Realty (JR) of mold & cleaning company subsequently verified it. JR agreed to clean up the mold in only 1/3 of the house. Also, only after a circuit breaker tripped 3 times over two weeks, which shut off the HVAC system in half of the house did JR agree that a circuit breaker (actually two as recommended by an electrician) needed to be replaced so the HVAC system wouldn't periodically shut down (could that lead to mold?). JR also agreed, after we complained that the company hired to remove the mold needed to return to finish the job as the original cleaning did not remove all the mold in the master bedroom. As mentioned earlier, JR only agreed to clean 1/3 of the house for mold & I had to remove it from the rest, but thankfully the staff of the cleaning company were kind enough to leave me some of the cleaning compound. Since I am still a spry 73-year-old I was able to clean the mold in the rest of the house over 2 1/2 days as I was concerned for our health as my wife has respiratory issues.JR also agreed to remove/replace the plywood that formed the support for the mattress as it had according to their expert "root mold" which could come back at any time. It has been an unhappy experience, but now know what a lot of mold smells like, and I would encourage anyone who rents a house on Jekyll to inform themselves as it is a real issue that seems to be swept under the rug by owners/agents (why?). We like the house & have applied to rent it next year (for 4 months), but next season if we smell mold, we will be demanding that JR either refute the claim or clean up any/all mold before we move in. I suspect that overall mold is considered a "third rail" for owners/realty companies. They should be leaning into this problem.

The house had mold when we moved in and apparently everyone before us including the cleaning staff missed it. I believe I have a reason why the mold developed, and it is that there is an easily tripped relay on the eastern HVAC system that must have failed as it has now failed three times since we have been here and that is currently 7 weeks. Anyway, not impressed by response from the owners as they only wanted to have 1/3 of the house cleared of mold and it was up to us to either do the rest or clear out. I am just shy of 73 years old and I have spent many hours and effort wiping down the furniture in this house to reduce the mold. I say, reduce because I do not seem to be able to eliminate it. Finally, the section of the house that was supposed to have been cleared of mold has in fact not been as some of the heavier furniture in the main bedroom was not moved and there is still old on it. I showed this to a Jekyll Island rep 4 days ago, but have yet to hear back. There seems t be deep denial on the part of Jekyll Realty and the owners to acknowledge the existence of mold in the house. I am assuming they are afraid of liability, but all we want is to rent a house that we are paying $3,000 per month to be free of mold. That appears to be too much to ask for based on the reaction so far. Yikes!

We decided on SE Georgia, so that some could drive from Orlando and my wife and I could fly into Jax. When we got into town, we got an early call from Jekyll Realty telling us the house was ready. That was great! When we went to pick up the keys, the entire team were super friendly and helpful.The house itself is on a quiet street. Each couple had their own bedroom, and two couples had to share a bathroom. The rooms were all plenty big and the beds were comfortable. The living room is huge and has two sitting areas. There is also a dining table that sat 10 and one that sat 4. The kitchen was quite big and had everything we needed to cook some meals at the house. And the house had a great outdoor space as well, although in September it was too hot and humid to be outside!The location is great - you are right off the main road and a block from the beach. However, we ended up hanging out more at the Days Inn, where you have privileges at the pool and their beach. All in all, this is a wonderful property!

The Review of all Reviews

I use reviews a lot so let me help. If you are looking for something within walking distance to the beach, this is IT. But note, it is a narrow beach and the tide comes in and makes the beach inaccessible. We went out at 10am and could just walk the beach and had to be gone from the beach by 6pm to avoid crashing into the rocks. The home is pretty. Has plenty of space and beds. BUT when it says bring your own linens they were not joking. I rent lots of home rentals and I've NEVER had to bring or rent bedding. The rental bedding was $42 and they didn't fit the bed AND they were cheapo sheets. For $42 I expected something soft and fresh smelling. They were like sheets you get from the dollar store. Jekyll Island does not have a nearby general store that sells linens for a reasonable price so be prepared to pack linens or rent. Bringing your own sheets doesn't sound so bad EXCEPT that this rental supplies ZERO beach gear. The best beach rentals includes chairs, beach toys, and plenty of beach towels (not to mention bath towels.) But if you have to arrive with all of your own beach goods, it makes driving down the highway with king size, queen sized, and full sized sheets --- because all the beds are different sizes -- less appealing. We booked on a last minute excursion for labor day and Jekyll did not disappoint. The street is beautiful and quiet. But something about those linens made me rate this a 6 out of 10.

Jekyll Forever

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve been coming to Jekyll for for 45 years-with kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Our whole family loves our week there and can see many visits into the future

Great House -

Very nice house. Spacious living areas and lots of beds. We enjoyed our stay!

spacious, updated cottage with a couple of drawbacks

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this cottage for three months. The cottage is spacious,updated,hardwood floors throughout, modern appliances, good supply of dishes,utensils,etc. Layout is very good with two bedrooms on each side of the house.A couple of drawbacks : all the windows are painted shut, this may not be an issue in the summer, but it would be nice to be able to open up the windows on cooler days for some free air and listen to the sound of the ocean and birds. Also, no view of the back yard from inside the house. Unfortunately for those last two issues we are not renting this unit again.
