Yes, I'm sorry that you caught a bad time on the island for the mosquitos. This was due to storms that happened during this period. Early September is one of the nicest times to visit the island, with it being a bit quieter but with the water still warm, but the mosquitos can come out then, when even us locals load up with spray around this time All the best, Craig

Hi, thank you for the review. We're pleased you had a good stay and appreciate the feedback. Just to be clear, the pool area is indeed 100% private, and the land beyond the shrubbery which encloses the pool also belongs to the villa. The relating issue mentioned in this review refers to a day our gardener decided to finish off a job in two consecutive days without notifying us. This has now been addressed with the gardener, Diego, and he now knows to only come to the villa on Wednesday mornings. The details of this time are on the booking confirmation email to clients and also on the house iPad. To the reviewer, I'm sorry that in your case it took longer than you were hoping to walk to the seafront. Details of the exact distance to the beach are written in the property description. Although the path is safe, with it being way off the road, and wide and flat as you mentioned, taking the house torch with you is definitely recommended. We appreciate you highlighting that. Thank you for the review and choosing to stay at the villa. I'm pleased to hear you found the house lovely. Regarding your other comments I feel it's important for me to clarify a few things : The issue with the television set was due to an HDMI cable that had become faulty. This was solved by replacing the cable, which I did immediately upon you notifying me of the problem. The On demand television service relies on an internet connection which may at times take a bit longer to load a programme than what people in the UK could be used to, however, we have installed the fastest available connection at the villa, (14Mbs) which exceeds the recommended minimum speed for using the BBC iPlayer. As faster speeds become available the villa will have them. Regarding your comment on the change of linen, I can only apologise for what must have been a misunderstanding. We offer every client that stays for longer that 7 days a change of towels and bedlinen and also a full house clean. This is included in the rental price. With most rentals being in weekly blocks, this is made on the 7th day (as noted in the info document on the house iPad) however due to your stay being 11 days I thought that you may wish it to be on an earlier day. When I called round to fix the TV issue I asked you which day you would like the clean and linen change, to which, I was under the impression, your response was that you did not need it. I am very sorry for what must have been a misunderstanding on my part. Regarding your comment that you felt the property "slightly difficult to access with other than a small car". I think it best to mention that the private parking space at the villa measures 5 x 6.5 metres and the drive leading to the house measures just over 3 metres wide at its narrowest part. This access and parking space has been used for years by clients with vehicles ranging from vans and SUVs to minis, and also twice weekly by the gardener, who accesses the villa in a long wheelbase Ford transit. I'm sorry that you had difficultly getting in and appreciate you mentioning it. I have added these measurements to the property info page on Owners Direct. Hopefully they will be a help to prospective clients. Thank you once again for choosing to stay at the villa and for your comments. Hi Jan, thanks for taking the time out to write your review . It is really appreciated. It was lovely to meet you all. I'm glad to hear that you had a good holiday despite some inconveniences. I'm sorry that your stay happened to coincide with a time in which the mosquitos were particularly fervent in the area of Pollensa. As I mentioned, even we, the locals, were being bitten during this warm and wet late September, which never usually happens. The issue appears to be a new strain of tiger mosquitos. Not a concern for health issues, but a nuisance nonetheless. I recommend anyone concerned about this does a google search on the subject, which has been reported in the press, both in Spain and the UK. Yes, it is true that any villa in the area which has a garden rather than stone terracing does consequently make the land more inviting to wildlife, the good and the bad, and this should certainly be considered when choosing a rental villa here. For the benefit of any misunderstanding, this issue was not particular to our villa. We had a similar abundance at our house and I know many other locals who had the same issue. I'm sorry to hear that you had to create a makeshift door mat. We did have one at the house but this must have been misplaced. Apologies for this oversight, and thank you for letting me know. Regarding your suggestion on a patio area, thank you for that. We'll look into it this in the winter.
