An additional lower patio sits down further. RELAX in the bay window with a book or by the fire while watching the dolphins, surfers, occasional whales and playing games! Take a stroll down the newly paved oceanfront promenade on East Cliff and grab a bite & coffee at the "Pleasure Point Cafe" around the bend, in a casual beach atmosphere. This area is home to the surf film "Chasing Mavericks"!

The main kitchen, dining area, living room, 2 bedrooms w/ King beds and 2 bathrooms are on first level. The UPSTAIRS has SEPARATE ENTRY, kitchenette, 1 large OCEANFRONT bedroom w/ King bed & OCEANFRONT patio, 1 small room w/ set of bunks (curtain as a door), 1 full bed (w/ curtain for privacy) & deck. Upper deck has out door lounge Set and ocean view as well. Smart TV’s in Family Room, Lower Master and Oceanfront Upper Bedroom,WIFI throughout.

Most delightful family gathering

We wanted a place where we could all stay as a family for my niece’s wedding. This exceeded our expectations, as it was not just accommodations for the group, but the most delightful retreat for us all, and we made the most wonderful memories in this beautiful spot

Fantastic! Just as advertised

My family and I had a perfect week in mid-September at this beach house. Roomy, clean, perfect location and well stocked with linens and paper products. Right on the water… if we had been closer to the ocean, we’d have been in a submarine! Highly recommend this beach house!

Family Vacation

Our stay at Pleasure Point was amazing! The waves crashing below the balcony was a bonus. The walk to the beach was just a few houses down from the driveway. The house was very accommodating and fully stocked. We loved it!

Amazing Home Away From Home

We booked this place for my mother’s 60th birthday and it was great. The location was ideal for all the activities we had planned during our stay. The house was very well cleaned and supplied everything you needed to enjoy a home away from your own. The layout was nice a supplied addition privacy and plenty of space for multiple people including kids! But the overall best part is the view, it’s private and we saw everything from whales and dolphins to surfers and boats, you could see the pier and board walk day or night as long as it was clear. This house is definitely a place our family would book again.

Chillin' at Pleasure Point.

Plenty of room for grandma and grandpa, 2 moms, 2 dads, 3 grandchildren. Easy walk to the beach, lots to do in Santa Cruz.

Beautiful ocean view

Older home but nice. Two units (one downstairs and a separate unit upstairs.) Patio area was PERFECT - couldn’t get a closer ocean view. Saw seals, otters, Borland even a whale! One item we requested to be added for safety was a lock on the back gate The caregiver said she would talk with the owner. Really though, an excellent place. .

Amazing ocean views

This was a great home and a great location. We would absolutely stay here again. The pictures of the ocean view, as beautiful as they are, dont come close to how spectacular the view and sunsets are. We saw whales breach and sea lions and beautiful birds from the back deck. And the sounds of the waves were so relaxing and wonderful to fall asleep too. Communication was wonderful when we had difficulty with the lock box (it could use updating to a key code lock). There was a musty smell when we first entered…but this was not a concern..this had more to do with the location right on the water. I am sensitive to this and opening the windows and airing it out got rid of this quickly. There were 10 of us staying and we had plenty of room.

Amazing gathering place with beautiful views (mother nature showing off all that is colorful on, on the ocean). The heat is space heaters, not central, which worked well as directed by labels.

Just What We Were Looking For

This is a great beach house, it's not fancy, but it's clean, very comfortable, has plenty of off street parking, and it was the perfect location for our family. Not shown in the pictures, there is a brand new cooktop, oven and microwave. Our favorite part of the house was definitely the back deck off of the kitchen. Each morning we had coffee, watched the otters, sealions and an occasional pod of dolphins right off the shore, followed by wine and cheese each evening while watching the sun set. Great location between Seabright and Capitola, where there are many great restaurants and plenty of shops.

Great place for our Family!

We hosted our family at this Santa Cruz gem right after Christmas. The weather was very blustery with high tides and rough water but we had a great time in this cozy home with a fireplace in the living room, lots of fun family games, and a nice spacious and well-equipped kitchen for family meals. The location of this property was so good, especially with the deck right on the ocean. It's a short walk to a little beach, called Moran Lake Beach and to Pleasure Point in the opposite direction. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. We thought the separate units might make it difficult to feel "together" for our family, but it was nice to have the part of the family with little ones be able to get up early and not disturb those who needed to sleep in. Everything was fantastic!

Spectacular views and many amenities.

We have now been at this house twice over the winter holidays, and we absolutely love it. It is spacious, good for big family groups, but provides plenty of private nooks and patios as well. The location could not be better: along East Cliff drive within walking distance of Pleasure Point, beaches, coffee shops, and other areas of interest. And the view facing the ocean is truly gorgeous--we love to watch seals and otters swim right in front of the house. Tara is very responsive and the house is well equipped with plenty of dishes, pots and plans, and kitchen space. The fireplace in the morning was perfect for warming us up until the sun took over. We will definitely be back!

Amazing views and comfortable beds!

You are right on the ocean. Location is perfect. Beds are very comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked, plenty of towels for bathrooms. Layout is a little awkward, but doable. The master bedroom overlooking the ocean is in the back apartment, separate from the main house. Perfect for privacy. The main house furniture could be updated (couch was mushy and recliner did not work). The house was clean, but could use a deep cleaning, in my opinion. New throw pillows and blankets would be fantastic. Great communication with property owner.

Santa Cruz beach house

Nice house with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Everything was clean except that there was a decoration left from the previous guest. Note that while the listing said there is parking space for 5 cars, it is actually 3 for standard sized cars like an accord. The garage would probably only fit smart cars or something that are relatively short in length. Also, the shower upstairs did not work at all, but I suppose there are 2 downstairs that work. Would be nice to have them all working though.

We just had a lovely 8 night stay at this property. The location right on the water can not be beat. It's a cozy house--not super fancy but comfortable and relaxing. We went with our daughter/husband and 11 month baby, who used the mini in-law apartment upstairs, which gave them some privacy and us a break from any middle of the night crying. The only thing to be aware of is that the gas fireplace downstairs is the central heat for that unit downstairs, other than space heaters in the bedrooms. Being right on the water, it does get chilly. This was plenty of heat for the home, but with an 11 month old walking around, it was a little challenging keeping him away from it and something we didn't really consider in terms of the practicality of the space for a busy baby. But we managed and we would definitely go back. It was a great house for us and no one wanted to leave.

Great view but otherwise a bit disappointing

What you get with this rental is a great view. But I was otherwise slightly disappointed. The dishwasher and refrigerator need to be updated or fixed. The cooking pans -- very old ruined non-stick pans-- need to be replaced. The cooking knives, although plentiful, don't cut anything but warm butter. ( I exaggerate, but you get the gist.) The bunk beds are in a very small closet -- I feel that calling it a room with a curtain door is a misrepresentation. This is really a 3 bedroom unit with other beds curtained off. It is a very funky beach house. I don't mind funky, but for the money, there needs to be some better amenities. The bedroom situation really did put me off. If you don't plan on doing much cooking and you need only 3 bedrooms, this might be a good place for you. It is nice to be able to walk to the beach and to watch the surfers at Pleasure Point.

Great location for our family.

Great location, especially if you don't want to be in a busy spot. It is a quick drive into Capitola and close to Santa Cruz. The weather was warm and mostly sunny. We had 8 people. Ages 21-76, the majority in their 50's. We received clear check-in instructions and had no issues during the stay. The house was clean and comfortable. Bedrooms were nice, with comfortable beds. We didn't need them but there were extra heaters around. I have rented many vacation homes and never had this well stocked of a kitchen. My family cooks and we usually run into problems due to lacking kitchenware. We made big breakfasts and dinners and had everything we needed. There is also a coffee maker upstairs which was convenient. The patio sits above the rocks where the waves crash. A quick walk down the hill and you are on a sandy beach. There are also walking trails. We walked into town daily for coffee. A few blocks from the house is a path along the beach where you can watch surfers. We saw whales. I wish we could have taken our dogs because the outdoor lifestyle there is amazing. Note: The bedroom with the amazing view is upstairs in the apartment and doesn't have its own bathroom. This ended up being fine for us because we are used to traveling together. You have to go outside to the side patio, and into the garage to gain access to the stairwell to the apartment. Usually, I don't stay at the same place twice but I will definitely be back here.

Broken fridge needs new dishwasher

Not totally happy. Cleaning crew was there way after 4:00 checking. They hosed the drive way and walk and that created mud. Fridge door rails missing or broken (patched with duct tape) along with missing one or two shelves and light was out. Dishwasher wheel missing making it almost fall out. Master bath shower needs replacement and the sink clogged up. Some sort of bilge pump runs all night outside the master bedroom. Recliner stopped working when it was 1/2 out, couldn’t make it go in or out. Called initially on the cleanup crew, left a message, never received a return call. For the money, we expected more. Probably would not recommend to family or friends.

Stunning views, but house needs work

The views were amazing, and the short walk to the beach was awesome. The beach toys on site were super nice. That said, we had to wash all of the dishes before using as they were all dirty. We removed our shoes as instructed, but our feet all turned black from walking around the house. The hot water was scalding, so we had to be on high alert with the kids (and the hot and cold water taps were switched upstairs, which made this especially challenging with little kids). We had to buy paper towels, toilet paper and laundry detergent (no way to wash the towels without), but then found the washing machine was broken. The fire place didn't work, and we didn't want to mess with it as it was super dusty, and there was no fire wood for the fire pit outside. The upstairs wall heaters didn't work and had wires hanging out. The microwave was breaking, and dishwasher and fridge were super rusted out. We tried contacting property management, but received no response.

70th Birthday Celebration

The views are spectacular. We could see the surfers, boats, seals and the waves crashing onto the rocks below. Some of the house has been updated but needs more . The kitchen is spacious but it is old. There are two bedrooms in the main part of the house, one with an attached bathroom. The other bedroom uses the bathroom in the hallway. The upstairs area is only accessible by going outside. It is like an apartment with a big bedroom with oceanfront balcony and view. The bathroom is in the hallway. There is a small room with bunk beds, kitchen area with sink, microwave, fridge, table and chairs. There is a double bed off the seating area in the kitchen. There is a slider that goes out to a patio with seating. This apartment is accessed from the garage so it is not very convenient but great for separation. There were lots of games provided. The towels were old and need replacing. There were plenty of dishes, utensils and glassware but quite a hodgepodge which is a personal thing for me. The dishwasher worked well, fridge kept things cold and microwave and oven all worked great Overall, nice place to spend a week.
