Music makers' cottage

Welcome to the Music Maker. All the charm and lots of comfort, plus outdoor furniture too! This cute, comfortable cottage is located on Coast Guard Point (f/k/a Canal Street), the peninsula that forms the northwestern edge of breath taking Grand Marais Harbor. Take a stroll right out the back door to Agate Beach which is a short walk across the small sandy dunes. Cool off in the crisp clear waters of Lake Superior. Later walk or ride your bikes into town for dinner, ice cream or a little shopping. Then head back to your beach retreat and take in one of our famous Lake Superior Sunsets. Verizon phone service is recommended if you want to use data in the area, but the Cottage is now equipped with WiFi.

So pack your summer gear (Don't forget the sun screen!) and head for a relaxing stay at the Music Makers Cottage in beautiful Grand Marais. This cottage is not a winter rental...sorry. Spring, Summer and Fall only.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would love to go back again.

Short walk into town. Lake Superior was just over the dune behind the cottage. Beautiful views.

Cute little cottage

The property is close to Pictured Rocks, and just a short walk from the lake. We enjoyed the fireplace this time of year. Grand Marais is a cute little town. If you plan on cooking, you would want to bring your own food, the grocery store in town is very small. We had a great time!

The Music Maker Cabin

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is equipped with everything you need for a pleasant week in beautiful Grand Marais. The location is great and I would recommend.

Peace and quiet

Great location for all the Grand Marais delights. The house is cozy and we felt right at home. Could hear the surf of Lake Superior at night. Lots of great information shared by the hostess, in a folder, about places to see and things to do.

Peaceful

Very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing cabin. The walk to the water kinda sucked because of the sand and we're lazy but, so worth the walk! Collecting rocks by the shore was awesome!

Beautiful location

This was a great location, although we couldn't see the lake we could definitely hear it. The sky at night was beautiful with the Perseus meteor shower and the Milky Way putting on a good show.

Cozy cottage. Clean and quiet. Close to many points of interest. Microwave and wifi were nice touches

The location is paradise, super sun rising and sunsets.

The cottage is small but nice. One recommendation to get new cooking pans, current choices are very used with little to no teflon left.

We love Grand Marais and Lake Superior. This cottage gave us easy access to both. We were able to walk anywhere we needed to go but enjoyed taking our Jeep on rides in the area. On rainy days there were movies and games to enjoy. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Cozy Cottage!!

This rental was such a beautiful, cozy cottage on such a pretty beach! It was the perfect size for just the two of us and we loved the little wood burning furnace. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! The town nearby is adorable and it was so peaceful and quiet here. We will definitely be back! Susan was wonderful! The check in and check out processes were very easy. She even helped us out of a sticky situation late at night on our last night there! I would highly recommend staying here and checking out the nearby national park!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Music Maker's Cottage! The local up on the point and just over the sand to Lake Superior was amazing. Also withing walking distance to town and other beaches. The property was clean and as described, cozy and welcoming, but with enough room for 4 of us to spread out and have our space. Having a washer and dryer onsite was a big plus during a weeklong vacation. The main bed and mattress was super comfy! This location is within a real short drive of several waterfalls and hiking trails in Pictured Rocks, and not a long drive from Paradise (Tahquamenon Falls), Munising (Pictured Rocks boat tours), and Manistique (Kitch-iti-kipi). No complaints, no problems, and we would stay here again! Thanks, Susan.

Grand time in Grand Marais!

We enjoyed our stay at the Music Makers Cottage. My family was comfortable and slept well. The rolling sand dunes, wild flowers, and sunsets over Lake Superior were candy to our eyes. We thought the prettiest waterfall was right there, Sable Falls, only six minutes away, that leads to an incredible beach. Rent a boat to see the pictured rocks! Came home with awesome pictures and some new rocks to add to my garden. We will be back! The Conover Family

Great cottage, great location

Susan is amazing to deal with. Deposit was returned within 24 hours. Very clean and well appointed cottage. Has everything you could need. Plenty of space and in great condition. Short walk over the dunes to Lake Superior and across the street from the bay. 1/2 mile walk to a very quaint and friendly downtown. Everything you need for an amazing and relaxing family vacation. Thank you Susan for an experience we will always remember. We are already looking to book the cabin for our family vacation next year! This is our new family vacation tradition.

Music Makers Cottage

Very nice area of Grand Marias. They own a nice sized piece of footage along Lake Superior. The dunes in front of the home aren't to difficult to navigate. However, it is a short walk to the lake. Excellent workout for your legs though! There are many board games and movies for rain days. The rock hunting is fantastic! We found many agates and yooperlites along the shore. Also included with the property, was an in depth binder of the area's must do attractions and restaurants. Very helpful for Grand Marias newbies.

October 2023 Stay

This was our second time we stayed at the cottage. Loved sitting outside by a fire in the evening. Walking along the shore of Lake Superior is always breathtaking. Liked that the hand held shower attachment is now available! Thought that the bed was a little hard for sleeping. There are trees growing against the cottage on the sides and also in the front in-between the pine trees. I would recommend taking these out for risks of structural damages to the foundation and in the front, the trees are around the power lines and could lead to power outages due to broken lines during storms.
