The short version: I loved it here! For details, read on.Though I live in CA, I rented this house for two weeks by myself. I was hoping to have some quality "reunion" time with East Coast friends & family. I could not have chosen a better house! Various visitors came now & then for an overnight visit, and I hosted a family reunion dinner as well. Everyone who came here loved it, commenting on the "feel" of the place. The house was clean, large, welcoming, attractive, and super comfortable. Some rentals have a "Pottery Barn" look & feel. This house does not. I was fortunate to meet the owner (Val) and she told me she grew up in this house. Upon inquiry, she gave me a bit of history re the area and certain furnishings in the house—including the fact that her mother painted the lighthouse art in the foyer. Other:AC worked great, bathrooms are modern, backyard is big enough for children to play, and the yard crew keeps the outside looking attractive. I appreciated the Netflix/Prime option for nights I was alone. The beach is a 3-minute walk, and groceries are under 10 min. away. The house has a very spacious feel to it. There are areas and corners where you could always find a private spot to read or have a cup of tea. If you're thinking of a full-on family reunion, this would be a great spot if you combined this rental with the house next door—also owned by Val. That house is even bigger, and it has some lovely pieces.I hated to leave, and am now planning my return trip!
