Perched on a hilltop overlooking mountains, a river and cattle , POP’S COTTAGE is a fully appointed, pet friendly , one bedroom guest cottage offering a location second to none in the heart of central Virginia s wine, brewery, bourbon and cider country. Pop s Cottage is 10 miles from UVA & within 3 miles from Pippin Hill Vineyard.
Wine Enthusiast named Virginia as one of the "Top 10 Best Wine Travel Destinations" in the world, so make your reservation at Pop s Cottage today!

Please note that no visitors and only registered guests are allowed to use this space day and night. The person who reserves the property must be the person checking in and will be responsible for all other guests in the group. Please note that there are 3 outdoor steps without a handrail leading to the entrance. For this reason we do not believe it would be suitable for anyone with mobility limitations. However I can provide a ramp.

There are 2 EXTRA LONG twin beds set up as KING with a 3" memory foam topper. I do have a floor mattress and pack-n-play if you’re traveling with a child. The cottage is 480 sq. ft. There is a $65 cleaning fee.

If traveling with a canine companion there is an additional $75 fee for your FRIENDLY and WELL SOCIALIZED fur baby. My pups visit freely on our property so…No aggressive breeds allowed. Pups with leash aggression not allowed. REMEMBER TO RESERVE A SPOT FOR YOUR CANINE COMPANION WHEN BOOKING. If you are traveling with more than one dog I am happy to discuss the options. Crates welcome. There is a Fenced in 1/3 acre field which also houses our chicken coop and a non fenced yard directly in front of Pop’s Cottage has been used for visiting dogs. Just clean up after your pet. Please clean up paws before your pet enters the cottage and be mindful of the condition of the Cottage upon your arrival.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Pop’s Cottage! The property is beautiful and very accessible to so much of the area. The cottage is small, but very comfortable with nice amenities.

Perfect place to get away!

Everything was exactly how it is described. Wonderful cottage. Minutes from lots of destinations but far enough away to offer privacy. Owners were great to work with, very welcoming and offered fantastic suggestions for dining. Would most definitely stay again!

Lovely stay in the mountains

We had a blast with our dogs at this cottage! Close to the wineries and easy access. Very communicative host as well which made our stay that much better. If you are bringing dogs just beware of the chicken coop within the fenced in area!

The property owners were exceptionally nice and welcoming. They had great suggestions for restaurants and local attractions to explore. The mountain views from their yard are difficult to beat. This is certainly a place we plan to visit again.

Comfortable, Clean, Quiet, and Quaint

We enjoyed our stay with our dog who loved the big yard to run and explore. The king sized bed and family room sofa are very comfortable. The place is nicely designed, clean, with updated amenities. The designer chicken coup was a plus, complete with a wolf statue our dog tried to make friends with. Location is easy to get to and offers a mountain vista.

Great stay!

Cute, adorable, perfectly acquainted little cottage. The view was incredible and seeing the chickens in the coop each morning was a great way to start the day. While on the owners property, we still felt a sense of privacy and seclusion that we badly needed after two full days of babysitting our very young niece and nephew! We will absolutely come back!

Cozy cottage with beautiful mountain views!

Nice modern cottage. The bathroom is lovely with excellent rain shower. The location is out of town in a peaceful area with wonderful views. Both sunrise and sunset were breathtaking! Location has easy access to route 29, so it was a quick car ride into downtown Charlottesville. We would definitely stay here again. Our host was very responsive.

C'ville Escape

Lovely weekend at Pop's Cottage, just outside of Charlottesville. Abode was perfect for our getaway weekend & a great location to access the wineries, parks, local stores and cideries on our agenda. We saw chickens, cows, horses, and even a zebra around town. Wonderful hosts and property - hope to get back again with Teddy when the weather warms and we can explore more!!

Cute, cozy cottage

Pop's Cottage is a cute, cozy cottage with beautiful views. The cottage was clean, bed was comfy, and amenities were great. You get the country feel but are close to Charlottesville and all its amenities. We enjoyed traveling with our dog. If you are a light sleeper like me, I would recommend bringing ear plugs or a noise machine to drown out the early morning chicken/rooster noises.

Wedding Weekend and Anniversary Getaway

The cottage was perfectly located for the wedding we were attending at Pippen Hill. Just as described; my favorite part was the amazing view. I enjoyed morning coffee in the Adirondack chairs taking in the mist lifting to clouds clearing to blue skies over the mountains. The only slight issue was the great outside lights are super bright for sleeping. Good for getting from your car to the door, but they shine brightly through the top window and attract a lot of bugs. Maybe they could be turned off, but we never actually asked. Very easy to get into Charlottesville and Potter’s Craft Cidery was fun Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

The house was located in a great and scenic location, near several really nice wineries. Ideal if you are traveling with a dog. The house was cozy, with a nice, well stocked kitchen, and my wife particularly liked the heated floor in the bathroom.
