Speakeasy Cottage #2

Speakeasy Cottage #2 is a great location! Just a very short walk and you are on Main Street. in Fredericksburg, very close to wineries, breweries, shopping, etc. We made good use of the hot tub. A/C was working in a hot summer week. The only critical thing I have to say about the location is that, when we stayed there, there was the distinct smell of a dead animal around the outside of the cottage. I looked for the source of the smell but was unable to locate it; I suspect it may have been under the deck. Otherwise a very comfortable and centralized location for exploring the surrounding Hill Country.

Perfect location for a Fredericksburg getaway! The cottage had everything we needed and the hot tub was a bonus. Being just off Main Street, we were able to walk to all the shops, restaurants and live music we enjoyed during our stay. We plan to make this an annual getaway and will definitely rebook with Absolute Charm.

This property was in the perfect location. My family has visited Fredericksburg many times and this place was perfect! There was some construction going on nearby that woke my husband and I up early. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend to couples and we will be back.

The location is great, with a super comfy bed and a really nice outdoor area. The bathroom and AC unit could use a little TLC. Having off-street parking was a big plus, and the host was excellent with communication. It’s a great spot for a weekend getaway.

Exactly What We Were Wanted For Our Weekend Getaway

My partner & I were looking for a place that was walkable, cozy, & had at least a small area for food storage & preparation (such as a fridge & microwave), as I have celiac disease & can't eat out often. This cottage checked all of our boxes! It was within a 5–10 minute walk of practically everything, & we loved the location. Anything farther away was an easy drive, with minimal traffic & wide streets. We especially loved being right behind Main Street & so close to shopping, restaurants, bookstores, breweries, coffee shops, & more. The cottage cooled down well during the day, but we found it a bit stuffy at night, even with the temperature turned down & the provided fan running. We also really enjoyed using the hot tub both nights to relax & unwind after long days of walking & hiking (Enchanted Rock)! The cottage was clean & well-kept when we arrived, & we really appreciated how easy check-in & check-out were, thanks to the company's clear communication. Overall, it was perfect for a couple looking to get away from the big city for a bit. Although it was on the smaller side, we didn't need much since we were mostly out exploring & just needed a comfortable place to rest & sleep. There were only two downsides to our stay, but neither would stop me from recommending the cottage or staying here again: 1. Low Water Pressure: The water pressure in both the shower & bathroom sink was extremely low. Showering was difficult, & we were unable to wash our hair the two nights, because anticipated that rinsing out the soap would take so long that the warm water would run out before we could finish.The bathroom sink also had very little pressure, which made brushing our teeth or washing faces a bit more difficult. 2. Odor Outside the Cottage: There was an unpleasant smell outside the cottage whenever we returned or stepped outside to leave. It wasn't quite like a dumpster; it smelled more like a dead animal. Despite these two issues, we had a great time & would absolutely consider coming back. The location, convenience, & hot tub made it a lovely place to stay!

Great getaway!

This house was the cutest and coziest place to stay! It’s a really close to a lot of great places on Main St. the only downside is be aware that if you drive to go to dinner, people going to the bar out back might park in the guest parking.

Lovely, cozy and private place. Close to all nada and restaurants. Walking distance didn’t have to use my truck to get around. Definitely coming back 💙

Cute cottage and perfect location

We were disappointed to see the hot tub was covered when we arrived. This was a search filter when choosing a place to stay. Location was great and inside was clean and pretty. Cottage should have been stocked with enough toilet paper and bath towels for 2 people to stay 2 nights.

LOVE IT

Everything was great, me and my husband had a great time staying at the speakeasy cottage # 2. The only thing I would say needs attention is the shower, water pressure is low and water goes every where, but everything else was great. Would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family. Sorry for the late review. Thank you

Great place to get away!!

Wife and I spent 2 nights in this little one room cabin just a block off Main St. This location was quiet but also provided access to nearly everything in Downtown Fredericksburg. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was just enough room for the two of us. The bed was very comfortable, there was a spacious shower and a hot tub in the fenced in area just outside the cabin. This trip was to celebrate our 10year anniversary. The cabin is great for couples who are just looking to get away but not be far from all the activities that are available in town.

Great Location

The stay was overall great. I was a little surprised at the size of the place, but it ended up being perfect because we were rarely there! It was a great location and only one block off Main Street. We initially booked this over other places because of the hot tub and when we showed up there was no hot tub. We were extremely disappointed because the listing still had it on the pictures and we were never updated about the change. Other than that, it is a great place for a couple that just needs a place to sleep after exploring the town and wineries!
