Beautiful garden and quick walk to the lovely local pebble and coral beach! The location is off the beaten path a bit, which we prefer to crowded, urban areas. The host was very responsive and helpful, check in and out was a breeze, and the house was comfortable. My kids especially enjoyed the game cabinet when we stayed in, and I enjoyed coffee on the lanai while listening to the ocean in the morning. As other reviewers have noted, nighttime can be noisy with the coqui frogs, local roosters, and cats, as the house is Hawaiian style with open, screened in windows, and you need the breeze without AC.Overall, it was a great time!

We had a great stay! We enjoyed the boogie boards and snorkeling gear! The house had everything we needed. Our only issue, was at no fault to the rental, but there was a neighborhood rooster that started crowing between 3 to 4 am and didn’t stop until it got dark. So, there was no sleeping in.

We loved everything about the house! We spent most of our time on the spacious lanai -- beautiful place to relax as the sun came up, enjoying an afternoon break, chilling before bed. Kitchen is well equipped and great for cooking at home. Seems like such a nice community. Very quick walk to the fabulous beach park. Would love to live here!

Location is ideal for snorkeling and exploring Manini beach and Captain Cools Cove. Also closer to Kilauea volcano than Kona. 20-25 min drive to down town Kona. More tropical than the north end (Wiakoloa and Hapuna) with more bird and frog sounds at night.

Great accommodations

Clean and well stocked with necessary items. If you have travelers who have trouble sleeping with outside noises due to the koki frogs and early morning chickens you should plan to have access to a white noise app on your phone. It really helped. Altogether a great place to stay.

Kealakekua retreat

Loved the area and the outdoor space. Living room furniture uncomfortable as were the loft beds. Wendy was very responsive to any problems with the unit and we enjoyed our stay.
