What’s nearby:
Grab a bike and visit Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve, just over a mile away. For a small donation, you can walk or bike through the preserve to enjoy views of the Morris Island Lighthouse. Hop in the car and head just under three miles away to downtown Center Street to enjoy unique shops, restaurants, the pier, and more. During your stay, a visit to Historic Downtown Charleston is a must. Within 14 miles, you can enjoy endless sightseeing, shopping, and southern cuisine.

Beautiful Spot, Disappointing Upkeep

The location of this property is fantastic, and the layout inside was comfortable overall. However, several maintenance issues made our stay less enjoyable than expected. Three out of five sliding doors were inoperable, and the only one that did open didn’t have a working lock for most of our stay. The maintenance technician came out multiple times, and while we were told the doors would be fixed, they remained unusable during our trip. More concerning was the condition of the porch. Several spindles on the lower railing were detached, creating a clear safety hazard — especially for children. Because of this, we couldn’t safely use the porch for about a day and a half. To their credit, the spindles were repaired during our stay, and they told us that the doors are scheduled to be fixed as well. We received a $200 compensation, which was appreciated, but it didn’t quite reflect the level of inconvenience and the safety concerns. The home definitely has potential with its great location, but it needs more consistent upkeep and timely repairs to deliver the kind of experience guests should be able to count on.

Great vacation!

We really enjoyed this house! We loved sitting on the screened in porch. The direct beach access is close to the house and very nice. We rented a golf cart to make cruising around the island easy and fun. House was well equipped. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect spot for a family!

We enjoyed how private the beach felt! Barely anybody else out there; the beach access was great! Beds were comfortable, kitchen and gathering area was nice and big, and not too far from restaurants and fun! (While being far enough from the noise and hubbub) Management was very responsive. (Bath tub jets didn’t work, but was not listed as an amenity.

Great Stay

The location was perfect for us. Short drive from restaurants, but right on the beach. Can’t beat the price. Very quiet part of Folly during the offseason. Fantastic!

Broken Oven

He we recently stayed at this location, which is nice being on the beach but it’s maybe a 3 star hotel level. Needs tons of love and updating. Our big issue was that the oven didn’t work. there had already been a review that it didn’t work but assumed it would have been fixed. they said they would come the next day to fix and never did. They have ants as well.

We visited Charleston in Oct to view the super moon rise over the ocean. The close proximity to the water afforded us splended unobstructed views of not only the moon rise, but also the sun rise

Shore Nuff Quiet

This property is perfectly located on the North side of the beach, away from the main beach and shopping area. We loved the beauty and quietness of the beach whether we were sitting outside on the deck of the house or down at the beach. The house itself has great character to it with plenty of space for four adults. It is in need of some love with some minor repairs, new paint, and in much need of new mattresses for the beds. The deck does provide direct access to the beach, but there is a 2 foot drop off at the end of the decking. This is fine for able-bodied adults but is challenging for older adults and probably small children. We needed to go to get a piece of plywood and two single steps to assist my mother in being able to get out on the beach. The internet is very weak and spotty. Would love to see a little more TLC given to this very sweet home. We had great experiences in working with Vacasa throughout the whole process of booking and being at the house. They were helpful in answering our questions and checked up via text a couple of times to make sure our needs were being met. Overall a wonderful week away! I give the rating 3 stars mostly because at this price I expect comfortable beds and well-kept environment.

Loved the beach view and access

The location can’t be beat when wanting to be on the beach. This house could use a deep cleaning overall for the things we tend not to clean daily or overlook ie vents, fireplace, walls, windows, door knobs and around that area etc. we Loved being able to sit on the back porch listening and watching the waves. Even if we were able to go outside only 1 day out of the 3 due to Hurricane Helene. There were some issues and most were asked if we would like it be taken care of that day. We opted out of as they were minor stuff or something that wouldn’t have a big enough affect on us to waste that time. The one issue we did have was the oven did not work which meant all the food we prepped and brought to cook could not be cooked and didn’t get any response back but they did respond back to everything else very quickly.

Great location

We have been vacationing at folly beach for years now and this home to us is a classic folly beach house. It was perfect for us! Clean, great location, and beautiful views from the front and back deck/seating options.

Beach Access

The best thing about this home was the beach access, and the ability to sit on the deck and watch sunrises, moonrises, dolphins, etc. The home is comfortable, and we really enjoyed our time in Folly Beach.

Do not spend your hard earned money on this house.

Thoroughly disappointed by the state of this house. The washer bleached all our clothes. Flies were everywhere in the house. Ants all over the kitchen. The knobs on the stove were broken-made it very difficult to cook. Most outlets didn’t work. The best thing was the view and had good beach access. Grill absolutely unusable.

Enjoyed our stay!

First off you aren't going to currently find a more private spot on the beach. A beautiful private home on one side and a home that is not currently being rented on the other. At this end of Folly very few beach users so we loved this aspect very much. The home itself is just fine. It's a rental that could use some "elbow grease" here and there but there isn't a rental that couldn't. Not opulent by any stretch but then again we didn't pay for opulence. Home was very clean and all mechanics worked just fine. Kitchen was well equipped, linens, etc. Not a single complaint. Huge deck and a great view of ocean from living room. Would stay here again no problem.

Nightmare stay when the ceiling collapsed

About a month prior to the trip we looked at the house and noticed in the reviews people were mentioning the stairs to the beach were destroyed in a storm. We had to reach out to them about the stairs and it took 2 weeks to get a response confirming we did not have beach access. We looked at renting a different house, but there was nothing available. The house was generally clean, but it had ants everywhere in the kitchen. We put all of our food in the cupboards to avoid the ants, but on day 2 of our stay, when I went to put sugar in my coffee, ants also came pouring out of the sugar container (that had been in the cupboard) into my coffee (yuck!). We had also noticed a crack on the ceiling above the kitchen counter. On Tuesday, this crack was much bigger so I reached out to the Vacasa (property management company) as outlined on the refrigerator. In the one hour it took to contact someone (corporate) and waiting for a reply which Vacasa will only do through text, a large portion of the ceiling came crashing down in the kitchen. It took 4 hours to get a hold of someone. They only communicate via text and I had to complain to get someone to come to the house to address it. They left the hole in the ceiling open overnight with soaking wet insulation. It reeked of mold, but Vacasa told me "mold doesn't grow in South Carolina." They knew there was a problem the week prior and they had still rented it to us. Communication was horrible. We won't stay there again.

April 2024 with a family of 4

House is as advertised. Small refund for lack of direct beach access which was an inconvenience but it is a short walk down the street to a public entrance to the beach. The beach behind the house was not often crowded but note that high tide comes right up to the rocks by where the stairs are currently blocked off.

Great beach front

This was a wonderful and relaxing place. Clean and spacious for a family to have room for entertaining a group. So relaxing and the views are amazing.
