One of Folly's favorite stays, 'Folly's Best Kept Secret' is a completely renovated beach house with all the comforts of home. Centrally located, the home is just a short walk to the beach and the fishing pier, which also happens to be one of the best surf breaks on the island! Center Street with all it's restaurants and shopping is just one block away. Relax and enjoy the casual lifestyle that Folly is famous for, without ever moving your car! Dine at one of the great restaurants, then take a walk on the beach.. Finish the evening with cocktails and conversation on the home's large screened porch. A true four-season home that's cozy and warm, it's also perfect for winter getaways!

You'll really enjoy the new-house comfort this home provides while maintaining it's casual 'Folly-style' attitude. Renovated in a contemporary lay-out, the living room is open to the large kitchen, dining area and the screened porch making it perfect for entertaining both indoors and out. There are two large bedrooms (both are queen beds) and two large baths. There's even a hot and cold outdoor shower. Perfect for two couples or a family of four. You'll find 2 cable TVs, Free Wi-Fi, DVD, and blue-tooth sound - all to make your stay complete. Parking is a breeze with 3 off-street parking spaces including one covered space. This house is clean and very comfortable!!

Historic downtown Charleston is just a 20 minute drive away and offers some of the finest shopping in the southeast but make sure to leave time to take in some of the beautiful historic landmarks that made our city famous.

Perfect Spring Break

Folly’s Best Kept Secret was the perfect place for our Spring Break! Ernie is informative, welcoming, and a great communicator! The home was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Just a short walk to town with an abundance of restaurants and shops and so close to the beach! The entire island has a great, laidback vibe. We hope to come back!

Comfortable and close to everything

Very comfortable, clean and close to the beach, restaurants and pier. The host was very responsive throughout. We would definitely stay again.

Great 2 bedroom at perfect location

My husband and I stayed at this house with another couple. This home is the perfect size for 2 couples at a great location. Plenty of restaurants, bars and the beach are within a couple blocks. Highly recommended.

Our second year staying here and needless to say, we love it. Convenient location to everything. Kitchen is stocked with whatever you need. Comfortable and clean.

Great Home Great Location

This cute 2 bedroom was perfect for us . Very close to the main street in Folly and right by the beach. I would highly recommend.

Perfect Vacation House

Our family loved our stay here! The house was perfect...had everything we needed and then some! The location was perfect...easy beach access and the ability to walk to all the great restaurants and shops! Ernie was available to answer any questions we had in a timely manner! The Secret Is Out...

This house was perfect for 4 adults- we were all familiar with the island, and the location can't be beat! So close to Center Street, Bert's, the beach, and anything else you could ask for. Great communication and the house was super neat and clean.

Location, Location!

This property has everything you need and is close to the beach and the coolest grocery store in town. So convenient! The covered parking spot was a huge plus as well. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch, which was also lovely. Would definitely stay again, can’t recommend highly enough!

Great, clean location close to beach!

We have now stayed at this location for the 3rd time. Place is clean, convenient shower located outside, perfect for washing off sand before going into the house. The alarm went off and Ernie came over promptly and changed the batteries. Very efficient and responsive. Would definitely stay again!

Folly Fun

We love staying at this cottage while visiting Folly beach. Ernie is a great host with his cottage having everything you need for your stay and close enough to walk everywhere in Folly.

Ernie Banis is a Charleston native who has spent most of his life enjoying the beauty of Charleston and its barrier islands. A local residential realtor and avid surfer who first learned the sport on the waves of Folly forty years ago, 'I believe the cozy comfort I've incorporated in this home is perfect for the full Folly experience.' While this home is new to the vacation rental market, I've personally been involved in vacation rentals for years. Having managed family beach rentals at nearby Kiawah Island has given me a unique perspective on what makes for a fun and relaxing island getaway!
