Completely renovated in January 2022, Highland Cottage offers the perfect location in laid-back James Island, a suburb of Downtown Charleston. Ideally located 4 miles from Historic Downtown Charleston and 7 miles from Folly Beach. The cottage is equipped with a full-service kitchen with brand new appliances, Rinnai gas hot-water heater and outdoor grill. Within a one-block easy walk, you have access to many restaurants and one block from Starbucks. We are also only 1 block away from the closest public bus stop with access to Downtown Charleston. Beach chairs and a cooler are onsite and available to our guests. Great affordable option for visiting Charleston.

This cottage is a gem! It was very clean and beds were comfy. It is an easy and quick drive to Folly Beach and the place is stocked with everything you need for the beach. My family loved staying here! Highly recommend!

The cleanliness, professionalism of the host and location exceeded all expectations. I live in Columbia and love coming to Charleston but rarely stay overnight but now that I know about Kits place I will never stay anywhere else. It was such a relaxing experience and her Verbo was within 10-15 minutes of everything we wanted to do over these past 3 days.

Kit and Judy provided a very comfortable and clean , organized and ample amount of everyday needs for your stay . I loved the location ; close to the beach and the city ! I would definitely stay again !

We had a great stay here! Very clean and comfortable, and the host was easy to work with. Walkable or a very short drive to some great bars and restaurants. Will definitely book again!

Cozy and casual with all the comforts of a beach cabin, just not on the beach. Private feel with easy access to Folly Beach and downtown Charleston and the airport. Great place for a family vacation with 2 rooms and bath, nice layout. Really enjoyed our time here! Thanks Kit!

The place was clean and well equipped. It had a lovely patio and yard with fire pit. It was a great location for accessing Folly Beach and McLeod Plantation which is well worth the visit for Gullah history. It was also easy access to everything in Charleston, and relaxing to return to after a long day.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. Good proximity to downtown but away from the hussle and bustle. Walking distance for groceries as well as numerous pubs/restaurants. Communication was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

The house is so cute, well decorated, and had everything we needed. I loved the location - quick drive into Charleston and a quick drive to Folly Beach, but out of the hustle and bustle. I wanted to use the fire pit, but couldn't make it happen. It is very inviting though! I would absolutely recommend staying here!

Kitchen was fully equipped and functional. I would suggest adding some dry creamer to the coffee supplies. We enjoyed having breakfast out on the deck. We would do it again

Great place to stay if you're wanting to explore Charleston and surrounding areas. Clean, well furnished, cozy and quiet! Close to Folly Beach and minutes from Charleston, Isle of Palms, store, golf courses, museums and restaurants. We would stay at this place again!

My 3 friends and I came here for our girls trip and had the best time !!!! Kit was quick to get back to me with any questions i had and was extremely nice! Judy worked so hard so we could check in few hours earlier then planned and she did a fabbbbb job ! I mean the cleanest property Ive ever stayed in !! We love that! It was 10 min from charleston , 10 min from folly beach!! close to an awesome BBQ joint , that we thoroughly enjoyed ! 10/10 the entire experience !!

This duplex is a great location for a quick and easy drive to Folly Beach and to Charleston. The unit had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay and was clean upon arrival. The air conditioning units were key and helped to reduce the dampness in the air. I would stay again.
