Pelican Reef is a 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, semi oceanfront cottage located at the end of a cul de sac in the village of Waves. Beach access is across the street- literally steps away. This cottage is newly listed on VRBO, and has been renovated in 2020 featuring all new stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, 65 inch smart TV, wifi, full size water and dryer, and a new deck. New flooring 2024.Enjoy fabulous ocean views, and sunsets over the sound. There is an outdoor shower and ample parking underneath the house. The three bedrooms consist of two queen beds and one bedroom with two twin beds. All bedrooms have memory foam mattress toppers and flat screen Roku TVs. Only bed linens are provided. Bath towels are available for rental. There is a screened in porch with additional seating and a porch swing. Underneath the house features a hammock, charcoal grill, outdoor shower, several beach chairs, umbrellas, awesome beach cart, corn hole, and tiki toss. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the amenities you will need to enjoy your stay including a vitamix blender, steam pot, air fryer, keurig and traditional coffee makers, and barware. The jellyfish table can glow in the dark if you shine a flashlight on them for just a few minutes. This cottage is less than half a mile from Pamlico Sound which is a world class destination for kiteboarding, windsurfing, and fishing. Upon arrival you will find a complimentary welcome package including one roll of paper towels, 2 rolls of toilet paper, one bottle of dish soap, hand soap, and laundry detergent, 2 dishwasher pods, and a kitchen sponge in a reusable tote to help you get settled. This area of the Outer banks has unique restaurants, shopping, and a variety of things to do for people of all ages. The Rodanthe pier is a half mile to the north. We encourage you to view our other rental VRBO 707603 to read reviews on a very similar cottage that is located just steps away. Based on availability, these two cottages would provide the perfect solution for those traveling in larger groups so that everyone can have their own space yet still be together. The cottages are perfect for young families with a no traffic beach access. We are very responsive to all inquiries and are happy to answer any questions. Hope to hear from you soon. Fun beach stay

Cozy home located in between two RV parks. Beach was crowded in July due to the location of the RV parks to the left and right. The beds are very comfortable!! The linens were great as well making it a restful vacation. The home was welcoming and very clean. We did experience some theft there as someone took my sons brand new beach shoes that we purchased the same day. Otherwise, we had a great stay!!

Rodanthe visit

My husband and I stayed a few days with our small dog. We thoroughly enjoyed the property. It was perfect for us! The location was fantastic and accommodations as expected. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the ocean on one side and the sunsets on the other. We walked on the beach (literally right across the street) in the mornings. The property was very pet friendly. We will definitely be back again!

Nice Getaway

Our family really enjoyed our stay this week. The house was decorated cute/beachy. It had all the cookware you’d need, comfy screened in porch and a deck to sit and relax as well. The owner was great with getting right back with us if we needed anything. We were all very pleased with this rental. Thanks again!

Nice family vacation

We were excited about the location of the house right next to the ocean and it was indeed wonderful. We could walk to and fro in our swimwear multiple times throughout the day. The outside shower with hot water and hose were very convenient. The patio was our favorite place in the morning (you can see some ocean, lusten to the waves, and watch the sunrise right there!) and in the evening (when the sun was on the other side and it was shady and breezy). We found the beds very comfortable and the house cozy and clean. Although the kitchen was missing some items, it was well equipped and we managed without (we’ve shared the list with the owners). Overall, we enjoyed our time and would recommend the place to friends.

Pelican Reef = 10/10!

This property was BEAUTIFUL. A quant beach cottage located very close to the beach. It was perfect for our family and our four-legged companions! The home was accurately advertised, and the home was pristine when we arrived. Whoever cleans the property following each rental deserves a raise! Looking forward to renting this property for future visits to Hatteras Island!

Little details make big difference

We enjoyed our stay very much at Pelican Reef. It was fully stocked in the kitchen with everything you need to cook. We played the games that were provided and used some of the sand toys and beach chairs that were offered to us to use. We were very impressed. We rented a surf board for the week and since the location is so close to the beach, it made it easy to go out for a quick surf. One thing to note, is that towels are not included which was mentioned in the posting but that also means dish towels, wash clothes, and hand towels which I did not think to bring. So hopefully this review will help future renters. Again great location and a fully stocked home made it a great trip for our family.

Great, clean place super close to the beach!

Clean. Well-equipped. Comfy beds. Close to the beach. Decent views. Convenient outdoor shower and hose. Quiet, safe street. We really enjoyed the enclosed porch room and deck, proximity to the beach, and overall stay. It’s quiet and low-key which is what we wanted. Only negative was the spiky mini cactus and burr plants in the yard. Always wear your shoes, and be prepared to pick any prickles off of the dogs. We would stay again. Although be sure to bring enough food and supplies as the closest grocery store isn’t that close. Don’t forget to check out the ice cream truck!

Last Minute

Our stay was great. We were able to find this house after we had a change in plans. The house was clean, well furnished, appliances were top quality. It was the perfect house for us and our dog. Easy access to the beach. Many thanks to the hosts James and Donna for working with us. We would definitely stay there again!!

Great house!

Location is great! House is decorated beautifully. The house has all you need. Can’t beat beach access and the beach is great, not too crowded, always in front row. Clean beach and beautiful sea with mid waves. Tip: take your groceries. Every nearby place for grocery is incredibly expensive. Wallmart and food lion is a 40 min drive no one wants to do after a long car trip. Great communication with host. Thanks!!!
