This is our second time staying here and we love it. Everything we need for our family of 5 to enjoy a fall weekend together. Close to Ithaca college, shopping for groceries, hiking and fall farm stops. We enjoyed picking apples and pears plus eggs for breakfast right on the property. The pellet stove made for cozy evenings together.

We had a wonderful stay at the yurt. Michelle gave me a wonderful tour- showed me her vegetable garden, where to find fresh eggs from the hen house, and pick apples and peaches from the property! We had a wonderful quiet, peaceful few days. Even used the bbq and had a great summer night.

We loved our stay in the yurt! It was so peaceful watching the rabbits and the deer on the property. It is tranquil but very convenient to Ithaca. The yurt is comfortable and thoughtfully appointed. We would definitely stay again!

It was a wonderful experience overall. The host was kind and helpful from the beginning of our stay. The yurt was warm and comfortable. We hope to visit again!

The yurt is small, with lots of things for children to play with. The bedroom, with the bed against the wall because of space constraints, is at one end of the yurt and the bathroom is at another. The kitchen is very serviceable, and the big table is a plus. We had a lovely stay in the yurt, but when mornings are chilly it gets very cold. The pellet stove keeps the yurt nice and warm, but you need to check to make sure the stove is plugged in and that there are extra pellets in the bin outside. If not, let Michelle know. She is a responsive host and we appreciated that very much. The grounds are terrific and the location turned out to be very good for us. We took a great walk in a preserve only a few miles away.

Thanks so much for coming Rachel -- I'm glad you had a good stay overall. This is a 30' yurt so it's considered large as yurts go. FYI to all future folks -- a mini split was just installed which keeps the yurt so comfortable (cool or warm depending on the setting). Folks can now use the pellet stove just when it's really cold outside or when you're looking for ambiance. Thanks again for coming -- you're always welcome back!

The yurt was a fun experience. We slept in the loft and the in-laws stayed in the bedroom. The loft was fun, but better suited for kids. Main downside was the living room furniture was pretty uncomfortable, so we didn't hang out much.

Michelle's Yurt was awesome. It was the perfect rustic place on the edge of the woods with just enough refinement to keep city folk like us more than comfortable. The whole property is just charming, with extra bonuses you didn't plan on like getting farm fresh eggs from the chicken coop in the morning, and a giant garden to grab what's ripe. Michelle was more than happy to give us a tour and show us what to feed the fish in the pond.The best part for us was having access to the gorge out back. Be prepared to climb a steepish hillside - it's definitely not a finished trail to get there, and a hike up the river will get you wet to the knees, and maybe higher. Bring water-shoes. It was just awesome having a chance to get lost back there and see the rapids and a waterfall without anyone else around.

Our favorite stay of all times! The gardens were peaceful and beautiful the yurt was spacious with all the amenities one might need. The hosts were so gracious and helpful in recommending local places of interest and restaurants. The location was convenient to downtown Ithaca as well as surrounding parks and lakes.

Wonderful retreat from the real world

We had a great stay here and our host was lovely. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a simple yet comfortable place to enjoy nature and get away.

The yurt and property were in really good shape, and the flower garden off of the back porch was such a nice spot for coffee! My dog enjoyed the little loop for a walk in the morning as well

Wow, where to begin. I guess the best place to begin is with the place itself. The yurt was comfortable, clean, well stocked and nicely decorated. The landscape was beautiful. Two nice little patio areas at either entrance. We had fresh eggs from the friendly chickens in the morning and were serenaded by songbirds at night. Stars… fireflies… the whole nine yards.Our hosts were all so gracious! If they were neighbors they would certainly be friends. So helpful yet at the same time so unobtrusive, an art in itself. My wife and I are real vagabonds. There is so much still to see yet I really feel like I will come back and visit these wonderful people again.

Out in Nature and Close to Parks

Our intention was a quiet stay with access to hiking in the nearby state parks. We enjoyed the yurt with our dogs and found it to have all the amenities we needed for a pleasant stay.

This was truly the best and most unique VRBO we've ever had! The garden is remarkable and the Yurt itself is beautifully appointed and spacious. The bed is comfy, and we both slept like babies. We will 100% be back!

Family getaway

It’s located between Watkins Glenn and Ithaca. The yurt was comfortable, quiet and relaxing. We had a great vacation and appreciated using the yurt as our home base.

We came for a few nights in February, the yurt was very comfortable and warm. Very spacious and quiet. The stars were spectacular and the fresh eggs were delicious!! We met George who built the yurt back in 2007, I think. It had everything we needed, and then some! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful space with us Michelle!! Would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the garden more. :)

Fantastic Spring Break Trip!

Our three young kids (3, 6, 8) loved the Yurt! It was nice to escape for a few days, and Michelle was a great hostess! We enjoyed local waterfall hikes and the children's Sciencenter was amazing. We'll be recommending Michelle and Climbing Vine to friends who also need a fun place to stay.

Yurt close to Ithaca

Truly amazing place to stay. My family of 4 loved it. Very close to Ithaca. Michelle was a pleasure to talk to and to learn all about her property.

I wouldn’t recommend this property enough. It’s everything you want in a yurt structure, and is well constructed with all the fixtures you would hope for inside. Like the Wesley tent in Harry Potter, it feels bigger on the inside.The host is so kind and accommodating. Our trip wouldn’t have been possible without her help and guidance. Truly, 5/5 stars, would recommend.

Short Getaway - Close to Ithaca

The property was beautiful. Short paths to stroll and we had the opportunity to pick fresh apples and pears to enjoy with our meals. Very cozy yurt that had everything we needed. Acommodating and helpful host! We would certainly come back again.

Our neighbors to the south have a licensed cannabis farm. That's happening more and more in our region. They are respectful neighbors and we don't mind.
