Our stay at the cabin was very comfortable. The photos are accurate. It's a few years old but well kept, clean, and spacious. The beds were comfortable and clean. We enjoyed using the fireplace and there was an abundant supply of seasoned firewood under cover in the back yard. All the appliances and fixtures were clean and in good working order.Loved the oak flooring, hand carved mantle and all the other wood throughout. Dominic was a great host and very responsive. For example, we mentioned being out of dishwasher packets he had them ordered and delivered the very next day! He proactively asked us to note anything that needed attention so on departure I noted a few minor maintenance items which I'm sure he'll take care of (nothing that detracted from our stay).Discovered the trailhead for a very pleasant paved biking/walking path just down from the cabin. We walked it one morning (we went to the left) and it was beautifully shaded and rolling and looked almost new. During our stay we visited Cahokia Mounds, Gateway Arch, Lewis & Clark Museum & rode bikes on the Katy Trail (we rented at Bike Stop Cafe in St. Charles - recommended). St. Charles if full of quaint shops & eateries. Had the best BBQ in my life at Salt & Smoke. Then we drove 1.5 hrs (one way) to Springfield, IL, to see Lincoln's home, law office, and tomb - well worth the drive! We ate outside on a beautiful evening at Obed and Isaacs (recommended!), just steps away from Lincoln's Home.Great stay!
