Spacious Charming Hyde Park Cottage - Walk Everywhere!

Location, location, location! Welcome to our Historic Hyde Park cottage blocks from Bayshore, steps to Bern’s Steakhouse, and a short walk to Hyde Park Village and numerous restaurants and watering holes!!! This charming 2/1 (queen/twin), second story carriage house is in the heart of Historic Hyde Park and SoHo, and is a perfect getaway for the vacationer, remote worker/professional, Tampa Convention Center visitors (2 miles/easy Uber), MacDill AFB visitors, parent of local college kids, or locals who want a “staycation” in the city.

The apartment is on the 2nd floor above the garage in a detached building from the main house. There is a flight of stairs behind the outside door, and another lockable door at the top of the stairs. We are open to longer term stays; please inquire via the message string. Please ask about amenities in our well-equipped kitchen. The master bedroom enjoys an upgraded Nectar queen mattress. Enjoy the plush Turkish cotton bath towels!

The 850 sf cottage has a private entrance, well-equipped kitchen, full-size fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher, central heat and air, fast secure WiFi, hardwood floors throughout, new living room furniture, a smart TV, assortment of board games for rainy days, plenty of storage/countertop space, and off street parking. The cottage has two bedrooms with a queen in the master, and a twin bed with a desk and reading chair in the small bedroom. We provide YouTube TV (cable substitute), and all the other popular streaming services are available with your logon credentials. Don’t forget to log out before you leave! In addition, the Samsung TV has numerous viewing options.

Off-street parking is generally available in the driveway as the owner uses the rear garage door alley entrance for vehicle access; the owner will advise on the message string should he need the driveway during your stay. A BBQ grill is available for guest use on the back patio; directions are included in the House Manual. Guests are welcome to use the outdoor furniture on the back porch of the house. Off street parking is available.

We are close to the Tampa Convention Center, MidFlorida Amphitheater, Amalie Arena, Raymond James Stadium, Armiture Works/The Heights Public Market, downtown, Tampa International Airport, Ybor City, Tampa’s downtown Riverwalk, Hyde Park Village, and MacDill AFB. Busch Gardens is about 20 minutes away, and Pinellas County beaches are about 45 minutes away.

The perfect location!

From start to finish, we enjoyed our stay at this great property. Devin is an amazing host and has the home setup perfectly with everything you need. Super close walking distance to Berns and many other great restaurants. Hype park is an amazing area and we will never stay any where else when we visit Tampa. This is near everything and yet quiet.

The place has plenty of room and everything you’ll need for a stay of any length. The gracious hosts are excellent communicators and very accommodating yet mindful of your privacy. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect location, has everything you could possibly need

Devin and Pam’s apartment is in beautiful Hyde Parkand is within walking distance to several nice restaurants. It was very close to the medical facility that we needed to go to. The layout is spacious and well thought out, and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you might need. We definitely recommend!

Comfortable apartment in lovely neighborhood

I really enjoyed my stay in this apartment. It was well equipped and very comfortable. The residential neighborhood is peaceful and pleasant, and within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

Great place

We were very pleased with our stay. This cottage is in a great location. The kitchen is stocked better than most places I have stayed. It even had a small espresso pot. Instructions for our stay were clear with great recommendations for local food and activities. Communicating with the host was easy with prompt replies to my inquiries. We will certainly return when we find ourselves in Tampa.

Great Neighborhood

Fantastic apartment! All new finishes, very clean. Comfortable bed and furnishings. Great communication with owners Devin and Pam! Oh, and you can walk to Bern's Steakhouse.... huge bonus! Very much enjoyed our stay here!

Everything we needed!

The garage apartment was nicely furnished and well supplied in the kitchen and elsewhere, the bed was very comfortable, and everything was very clean. It was less than a mile from medical facilities, several good restaurants were within easy walking distance, and it was in a charming neighborhood. Devin and Pam were both so helpful. We would definitely recommend!

What a beautifully appointed, charming cottage! The location was great, neighborhood is filled with things to do and a multitude of food options. Our hosts were so responsive. The personal note welcoming us was just one of so many personal touches we enjoyed during our stay. We're so happy to have found this home!!!

Hyde Park Cottage

We had a very enjoyable stay at this Hyde Park cottage. The place is exactly as shown in photos. Cottage is clean and comfortable. Communication with owner/host is pleasant and quick. Neighborhood and area very nice and has much to offer in terms of entertainment, dining, etc. Great area for walks in neighborhood or by the bay. Overall experience was outstanding.

Spring Break Vaca

Location is awesome, right off of SoHo. Being able to walk to bars/restaurants/7-11 is a big plus. Price was good too. Owners are personable & helpful. Only "complaint" is I wish the couches were more comfortable. But we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Hyde Park location

Great property in the perfect location for our stay to celebrate a family event. We enjoyed sitting in the garden for morning coffee and walking into Hyde park to the restaurants and shops. The hosts were very responsive to every question we had as we were deciding where to book as well as during our stay. We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the Hyde park area.

We had a wonderful weekend, the property is located right near Hyde Park and downtown Tampa perfect for our weekend getaway… Shops restaurants Tampa Bay all within a short walking distance! We had a great time at Amalie Arena enjoyed New Year’s Eve at the epicurean Hotel restaurant, and finished our weekend off with the great news of my now son-in-law, getting married, followed by the New Year’s Eve ball drop doesn’t get much better than this!!!

I'm a Tampa Bay native and renovated my c. 1925 Craftsman Bungalow that I have owned for 30 years in Hyde Park, S. Tampa in 2017-2018. During this time I lived in my detached 2br/1ba garage apartment. Back in my house since 2019, I have shared the cottage with travelers for 6 years! I have hosted several folks from around the world in my home via Couchsurfing, so I'm familiar with the hosting concept. I frequently use this online community as well as Airbnb to stay with locals when I travel the world. "See the world" and "collect experiences over things" are my mottos!
