Very lovely historic home only a short walk from the plaza. Quiet neighborhood with other historic homes so it was easy to get some good rest! When walking into town on Union, you're met with a breathtaking view of the courthouse and Thumb Butte. Can't wait to come back!

Stay was good. The loud mobile hvac units kept the place cool but unfortunately they need them. Also would have liked a tv in a sitting room. Otherwise the place was cozy and clean.

The Murphy suite is very rustic but the stone foundation is very cool. It is very clean and comfortable. Also very close to whiskey row and restaurants. Great location!

We always look for quirky, fun places to stay and this basement space certainly fit the bill. Unfortunately, it fell short in some very basic ways. First, the room was not ready (and hence our door code would not work) when we arrived at 5pm for a promised 4pm check-in availability. Strike 1. Lighting is Strike 2…unlike the photos showing a light, bright space, there were multiple challenges…the main bedroom had only a single small bulb in a ceiling fan as the only light source, the shower was much darker than it appears, lightbulbs were either burnt out or strobing in both kitchen and sitting room, and trying to put on makeup at bathroom sink was more like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Granted, there was more light by dressing area mirror but stark and off center, with no ledge to put anything. Which brings me to Strike 3…no table or luggage rack anywhere to hold luggage. This is basic hospitality. The only comfy place to sit is in the sitting room but the chairs are rickety and there is no TV there. There are, however, TVs in both bedrooms. It would only take a small amount of TLC and attentiveness to improve my review but these were the circumstances of our visit. I hope they can be addressed so others who enjoy unique spaces can also enjoy this one as the location within town is ideal.

Favorite place to stay in Prescott

Love this place. We always stay in the Murphy suite and it never disappoints. Having a full kitchen saves money and is convenient.

Great stay

Modern living in an historic space. Satisfied all our needs. Walking distance to Whiskey Row and a short drive to Lake Watson for kayaking. We would stay again!

Mansion was amazing! Our unit 2B was awesome! Historic house and area! Highly recommend staying here! Walking distance to Whiskey Row and old downtown!

Near Prescott shops and restaurants. The blurb does not mention the unit we stayed in was a basement. There is only comfortable seating for two.

Murphy Suite

A unique and great stay in Prescott!The basement quarters were definitely private, with an external door for access. The only warning is that the houses water/sewer lines pass directly through the seating/small bedroom and are notable if you are sensitive to sound, although it was not a bother to us. The unit was very clean and we quite enjoyed our stay!

Quaint Little Room in Prime Prescott Location

We stayed in the Murphy Suite at the Mansion and it was just as advertised. I thought it was really quaint. The only negative was the upstairs residents taking showers at 6:20 am, which you can hear as the water rushes through the pipes in the small bedroom (but this was ALL disclosed on the details of the room, so I was not upset by it). This is a perfect location to experience Prescott and the grounds are beautiful. Highly recommend this location for your Prescott stay.

very nice

This was a nice stay. Its location is perfect, close enough to walk into whiskey row and core town square area but far enough away not to suffer that noise. The bed was crazy cozy. The property has multiple units which sometimes reduces the privacy you feel, but at this location I felt live I was the only one there. very cool

Great location to visit downtown Prescott

Very clean unit with plenty of space for 3 adults to cook/eat and relax in living room and bedrooms. The unit has a lot of character with the exposed stone walls since it is the “basement” of the mansion. We heard guests in their rooms around us and the sound of water moving through the pipes. Neither of these sounds were loud enough to disturb us. I would stay here again.

Not fancy but really comfy!

We needed to get AWAY for a few days. The Murphy suite was perfect. Enough room, comfy bed, a sitting area for reading, close to whiskey row, functional kitchen. Exactly what we needed. We were vaguely aware of other guests but noise was never a problem. Parking was always available off the street. Melanie was immediately available for the one issue we had and it was fixed immediately. We would definitely come back!

Radiant heat issue

The host was nice and responsive but the heat from the radiant pipes made it unbearable at night - the colder it got outside the hotter it was in the basement suite - the old house is heated with boiler system and the exposed pipes made it a sauna
