Bright Star Ranch is a pet friendly custom log home on 40 private acres with a hot tub for your post-ski or hike soak. Your spectacular mountain views include the Collegiate Peaks, San Juans and Sangre de Christo mountain ranges - truly majestic scenery!

This beautiful home offers:

~ Large master suite with king bed, private balcony, seating area and private bath with large whirlpool tub and separate shower.

~ Two more full baths and two additional bedrooms, offering another King and one queen

~ Great Room with a beautiful stone fireplace open to the chef's kitchen, and above to the loft with a library with interesting reads and comfortable lounging.

~Wireless internet, satellite TV
*No Over Occupancy of Guest

All Pinon homes are "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish and shower soaps are provided, as well as toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, salt and pepper, coffee filters and laundry soap.

Pinon Vacation Rentals provides guest support from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm.

All guests are responsible for reading Welcome Book “Check-In and Check-Out instructions.

~Acceptance of the terms of the Rental Agreement and all Rental Policies is ASSUMED at the time of reservation. 24 to 48 hours before arrival, check-in instructions will be sent to guest.

**This home is rented for personal vacation use only. Any other use including large gatherings or parties is not allowed. Renters must abide by all rental terms and policies, as well as all local applicable property covenants, restrictions, regulations and laws. Any evidence of smoking, use of firearms, driving ATV's other than in the driveway as access only, unapproved pets, unauthorized use of property grounds, damage resulting from violation of rental policies, and/or excessive mess may result in charges up to $3000.00 to the Guest's credit card on file, as authorized by Guest's approval of the terms of the Rental Agreement.

Reservations may be canceled more than 30 days prior to check-in with full refund. 14 to 29 days prior to arrival 50% refund. No refunds will be issued after this cut-off date for any reason. No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions, spotty internet service or interruption of service.

Amazing experience!

This place lived up to its listing. A large, private ranch with a beautiful home full of amenities and tremendous views. Perfection! We saw elk and deer on the ranch. We enjoyed the hot tub while watching the sun set. Owners were in close contact - we appreciated their care.

We spent a couple of beautiful days skiing Monarch and enjoyed every minute of our stay at Bright Star. We plan on staying every year we come to Salida. Stunning home!!

Birthday Celebration

We loved the property and location. Enjoyed hanging on the patio while our dogs ran around the fenced area. Views and privacy were most awesome. Will be back again for another stay soon.

Loved the location and the property

Views were gorgeous, and location was centrally located to many of the places we wanted to visit. The house was spacious and clean but a few things could have been improved. The linens were thin and some were shredded. The lighting in some rooms really needed brighter bulbs, the kitchen was well stocked and even had spices provided. We especially liked the fenced in area for our dogs. Our biggest issue was that the hot water did not work in one bathroom sink and that was very inconvenient

Bright Star Ranch

We loved staying at this property, it was quiet, private and much more room that expected. We also appreciated being able to take our dog and having a fenced outdoor space for him to run. The views were amazing and the location- close to BV and Salida was perfect. Property management communication was excellent.

Amazing place, pictures don't do it justice

Found this property while looking for a quiet getaway for me and a few friends. We were not disappointed, the location provided plenty of views and some privacy. The cabin was impressive and there were plenty of rooms and beds for each of us (5) and more. Will be looking to rent again for future get togethers.

Beautiful Property, Great Communication

The property management company was great to work with and quick to intervene in any issues we had. There was confusion regarding who to contact as the listed number would go strait to voicemail but we were able to communicate with the rental property through a different number that checked in with us. The property is wonderful but it does need some work. The floor could be redone but in no way impacted our stay. Overall we had a great time together!

BV Family Vacation

The booking and check in process were easy. The size of the property is great for up to twelve people, including a bunk room for up to four. The cabin/lodge feel were really nice, especially for the rural location surrounded by wilderness. It is very quiet and there are lots of activities around for people of all ages. The things that could be improved: the dish washer was broken from when we arrived until we left. This is a big deal for a place that accommodates 12 people, spending lots of time having to clean dishes/pots/pans after every meal while on vacation. Also, one of the toilets kept backing up, so the plumbing is delicate. Finally, the railings on the front porch are broken. It isn’t a big deal, but it affects the aesthetic. It is a larger house, needs regular upkeep and some updating. I would stay here again, but only after efforts are made to improve some of these things.

Beautiful all log home

The best thing is the all pine log interior. Amazing architecture and so Colorado! We were impressed by the spaciousness of the property and the home that has room for 12 in 5 bedrooms. The furnishings are older but very comfortable with plenty of seating. I especially liked that there was only one t.v. in a t.v. room so peple interacted more instead of watching t.v.. The 3 beds we used were very comfortable. The 3 bathrooms were serviceable though not updated. Masterbath was very spacious. It's a perfect family reunion gathering place! It also accomodated our dogs well with a large fenced in area in the yard. The large patio with comfortable furniture and a large table were great and a place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The kitchen was nice and well equiped. We appreciated the guidebook provided but did not see the welcome package as noted on the backdoor. There are several notes taped up as reminders of house rules which is always appreciated! There are a few upkeep items like a back door that we could not lock and the large trash barrel outside that is not bear proof. But it was a really nice place to spend a few days.

Double sided review

I want to preface this review with the fact that we were refunded 1 nights stay. (Whether we felt this was adequate is not in this review.) Everything that is mentioned in the listing is correct and accurate. I am reviewing our experience. The good: Location is GREAT in between Salida and Buena Vista with great mountain views. It was quiet and secluded which we liked, however there are houses being built (150+ yards away) which somewhat ruin the view and potentially privacy as they are elevated. The property was as expected and displayed in the pictures. Bedrooms were nicely sized. Bathrooms were nice and clean with towels provided. The bad: Fees (yes I know these properties all have fees): The fees & taxes were over a 1/3 of the entire cost which included property management fees - more on that later. Upkeep: Generally good but parts of the yard around the deck were unkept and had random items there which we didn't know what they were there for. Caulking in kitchen was cracking which doesn't look nice but a simple fix. What's provided: We ran out of trash bags and dishwasher tabs which for a full house during Thanksgiving week, what was provided was inadequate. Suggested: Fridge with an ice maker that works. Garage fridge for additional space to comfortably accommodate a full house. The REALLY bad: We had no heating in the main living spaces from the moment we arrived (Bedrooms were heating just fine) so that means waking up to 50 degree mornings. A handyman which couldn't fix the issues was called which WE were responsible for waiting on him, and then also a HVAC tech which we were also responsible for waiting for. This was the responsibility of the property management and in turn took away from our activities during our stay as we were the ones who had to wait on them. After it wasn't fixed and I followed up again, 3 small space heaters were provided, 2 of them worked. DO NOT use the fireplace until it is properly serviced. We were told to use the fireplace as a placeholder the first night to help in the heating issues. The chimney did not do an adequate job removing the smoke/fumes and left a hazy lingering smoke in the living areas which causes a few of our guests to have headaches. The fireplace surround isn't properly sealed to the fireplace. You can see in the pictures the black soot on the fireplace in picture #7. We wanted to love this place but can only review our experience. Proactive maintenance needed.
