Come enjoy relaxation at The Hide Away located in beautiful Kill Devil Hills! Take a 10-15 minute walk either East or West and end up at the gorgeous beach access with accessible parking, or the understated sound. Bring your boat and put it in the sound at the public boat ramp! Kids of all ages will enjoy the amenities that will make you feel at home. Pick your daytime activity such as going to one of our nature reserves and museums, a shopping trip at our many surf shops, a day at H2Obx waterpark, or fishing at one of the local fishing piers, and finish it off with a delicious dinner at one of our local seafood restaurants. If you aren't exhausted after that, take a dip in our brand new hot tub.

Birthday weekend at beach

Loved this place! Super quiet little cul de sac very close to beach and local places to eat! Definitely recommend! Thank you so much and will definitely be back!

Great house!

The house was clean and communication was great with the owner , she was very attentive and answered my questions quickly. We loved the hot tub!

Fall trip to OBX

Thumbs up overall. I arrived a day early ahead of my party and immediately claimed the largest bedroom. The grill, the hot tub, the fridge, the wifi, everything worked. Minor inconvenience was the lack of dishwasher. We mostly solved that with disposable stuff. Walking distance to the beach and amenities, highly recommend.

Fabulous Hideaway House!

I came with 2 of my friends and we had a wonderful time! The house was very clean and well maintained. The hot tub was fabulous and you can tell it’s either new or maintenanced enough that it feels like it’s new. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the beach, all on sidewalks and very easy. All of the little touches made our stay even more wonderful…having a coffee pot and a keurig (both got used frequently), linens, the charging stations in the rooms, extra throw blankets, and all of the little things provided for that you normally forget (hand soap, dish towels, paper towels, etc)! As someone who doesn’t love fragrances, the sheets being washed in unsecured detergent was the icing on the cake! Beds are super comfortable and they have actual shades instead of curtains, which is so nice waking up without having the sun directly in your eyes! Most of all, Natalie was WONDERFUL to work with. She responds quickly and goes above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome. We got to get into the house a few hours early because she let us know it was ready, which was much appreciated. All in all, I highly recommend this house!!

I'm Tommy Ritchie. I was born and raised on the Outer Banks and grew up on third street, often biking to the beach for surf swells or skating around the beach town with my friends. Later I found my wife, Natalie Ritchie, who grew up right around the corner in Manteo. Now we live together in Kill Devil Hills with our kids, spending lots of time in the sun. I've always worked for the people of my community, and i wouldn't trade it for the world. We love where we live, and it would mean everything to be able to spread the love to anyone else interested in experiencing everything the Outer Banks has to offer for themselves.

The beach access nearest to this property (approx. 5 minute walk) is the widest beach you will find in Kill Devil Hills and the neighboring towns as well as a snorkel-accessible ship wreck only two beach accesses down. In the opposite direction, you can find the sound, which offers water sports such as wakeboarding, water skiing, jet skiing, and kayaking, as well as breath taking sunsets that stretch to the ocean, creating a saturated cotton candy sky you can view from the front porch. Everything you need is within a mile distance from the house. Literally. For real.
