Get lost in the mountains while only being minutes from town! This adorable 2 BR/2 BA cabin has all of the feelings that you are in a treehouse and that you are lost in nature with pure relaxation while having all of the modern conveniences only about 3 miles down the road.

Lovely wooded property with 5 acres, bordering forest service and plenty of room for exploration, and a short 10-minute walk through the forest to the lovely Nottley river. Only 5 minutes from Historic Downtown Murphy and the Harrah's Valley River Casino.

Love this place!

Loved everything about our stay! My husband and I stayed in the room on the main floor….we wanted to take that bed home with us! Soooooo cozy!!

BEAUTIFUL CABIN

We spent our Thanksgiving in Murphy and this cabin is rated an 11 out of a 1 to 10! The cabin was decorated for Christmas and it was beautiful and cozy and SOOOOO CLEAN!!! The hosts was wonderful too. If you're contemplating renting this cabin, stop it! Book it!!! You will not be disappointed!

Peaceful

It was a wonderful stay! Loved the pet relief area! My dog wasn't having it though she wanted the real grass at the top of the trail haha! Loved the wrap around porch. My kid loved having the downstairs all to himself. We caught a few fish down at the river and almost stepped on a turtle headed down to the river. Little tricky getting to at night.. We got in the wrong driveway and tried backing out quickly. It was wet and we started spinning tires, thank God for 4x4. Bring some boots if you plan to go fishing, it can get muddy! Great trip, can't wait to get back. Last weekend in Oct or first weekend in Nov have the best scenary for fall!

Home Away Home

We had such a nice time. This was our second time staying here. This time we were able to see the fall colors beginning to show. We enjoyed a morning of adventure down by the lake and saw a Bald Eagle flying. It was so neat to see. We visited the Nottely River Valley Vineyards, went on a trail ride with Chunky Gal Stables and enjoyed a nice walk along the Murphy River Walk. We really enjoyed porch sitting, watching the birds doing their thing and grilling each night for dinner. Eric and Zoe are wonderful hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed. Their cabin is so cozy, and we always feel at home when we visit. Can’t wait to return!

Peaceful Getaway

We were looking to relax, enjoy nature and be removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and this cabin provided all those requirements and much more. The hosts were extremely thoughtful leaving us a bottle of wine, fresh eggs (so delicious!) and more. Check in and communication with the hosts was perfect. We loved the walk to the lake and the views when we got to it. The cabin's location made it easy to travel to local orchards and breweries. We certainly would love to come back and bring some family members with us.

What a wonderful mountain getaway and secluded Murphy North Carolina

We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend with the dogs watching nature and the leaves change. We even took a hike to see the lake/ River located right off the property. It was a very rejuvenating stay and would absolutely stay there again!

Mountain Cabin

We enjoyed our week stay in the mountains, This cabin was furnished with everything we needed for our stay plus more! The hosts added details that just made it more special. The views were awesome and the trail down to the lake was well marked and enjoyed by us and our 2 dogs daily! It was relaxing to sit out on the deck and listen to nature! The directions were throrough and the place was easy to find! It was a challenge getting our bigger truck into the parking area but was manageable. We found lots of hiking trails in the area to enjoy.

Great cabin in the woods

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cabin in the woods. the walk to the lake was enjoyable and we even saw a pair of bald eagles soaring above the water. Lovely, quiet place. Very dog friendly. The hosts thought of everything! It's a really great place. We would stay here again.

Quick trip to Murphy

This was an amazing place to stay. Very clean, had everything you needed plus more. The Hosts were amazing and we will be returning when we just need to relax. Our dogs enjoyed lounging on the wrap-around patio and loved taking the short walk to the lake.

Relaxation in Murphy

The hosts, Eric and Zoe, were amazing. To arrive to fresh eggs and a bottle of wine was an amazing surprise. The home was everything we needed - a cozy and welcoming home with access to a nature trail and lake.

Exceeded all expectations

We loved the cabin. The hosts really go out of their way to make you comfortable. They really hooked it up with extra goodies too. The cabin was clean. We loved the location and loved walking through the woods with our dogs to the lake bank and letting them play there. Also, we loved that it was centrally located between Chattanooga, Asheville, Greenville, and Blue Ridge. Great place!

Paradise in the Mountains

This is our second time staying at this cabin. Needless to say, it is an exceptional cabin. I cannot express enough how clean and comfortable this place is. The hosts Eric and Zoe have thought of everything. Since we were here for Christmas, the place was decorated beautifully for Christmas. This cabin is nestled in the mountains with beautiful views and hiking trails. Sitting out on the porch and listening to nature is wonderful. We enjoyed the fireplace inside the cabin and the little fire pit on the porch while rocking in our chairs watching the sunset. We were here for 10 days and I had to work from home a few days and I didn’t experience any problems with the Internet. The inside of the cabin is tastefully decorated in a way that makes it feel very homey. The bed is comfortable and the linens all smelled very clean and fresh. It was so cozy to snuggle up on the couch with the blankets in front of the fireplace. I cannot recommend this cabin enough. We have already booked yet another trip for 2024 which will make this our third time being here.

Incredible house, great location!

If I could leave a 10 star review here, I would! This property is phenomenal and great for the outdoorsy type if you’re looking to enjoy time on the porch or exploring down to the lake. If you prefer indoors, they have thought of everything there too. The home is warm and cozy with every detail and amenity thought of! Great proximity to town, lots of fun shops and dining at the Murphy Chophouse was wonderful. We also checked out the Murphy River Walk, beautiful in the Fall season and great if your looking for some fresh air and a nice walk with your family or dog(s). Eric and Zoe are wonderful hosts and we hope to stay here again someday.

Beautiful Cabin

Zoe and Eric have created the perfect vacation cabin. Everything was well stocked above our expectations. They were quick to respond to questions, and they made sure we were comfortable in their home. We fit six adults and two dogs comfortably in the cabin. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Just what we needed!

Probably the most well equipped vacation rental we've stayed at.They have everything you might need for a home away from home and the location was great. It was very clean My kids loved swimming in the lake, seeing the deer every day and relaxing in the hammocks on the porch. They asked more than once if we could live there! Perfect way to end the summer before school starts up again.

Beautiful cabin

About as good as it gets, comparable to European mountain resorts. Great location and very private. Only difficulty would be if you drove a very large vehicle, like a 1ton truck, as the turning around space is limited. The lake is accessible via hiking trail, fairly steep.

Best Rental Cabin

We so enjoyed our stay at this cabin. I haven’t been to cabin that has been spotless like this one. Eric and Zoe were quick to respond if we had a question. I would definitely go back and stay here.

Anfitrión: Eric & Zoe Schechter

Zoe and Eric Schechter enjoy outdoor sports and are avid motorcyclists that have been vacationing in this area for many years and became full-time residents in 2015 when they purchased the adjacent property and made it their forever home. Zoe was born in England and raised just outside of London while vacationing in Florida in 2008 met Eric and they married in 2010 in Florida where Eric had lived for 20 years.

They live with their 9 dogs, 2 cats, chickens, and 7 motorcycles, and enjoy gardening, and hosting guests.. In June of 2019, they purchased this property with the desire to operate a vacation cabin that provides an exceptional 5- star experience for their guests and where they can share their love for the mountains. We are less than 5 minutes from town, yet very secluded in the mountains! Zoe and Eric are proud Cherokee County Firefighters and on the State Wilderness Search and Rescue Team. We are mountain, pet, and motorcycle obsessed!
