The home had all the amenities we needed to prepare meals. I especially appreciate the option for pour over coffee. The bathrooms were clean and could only be improved by adding a few more wash cloths. The bed linens were clean and comfortable, and it was nice to have different pillow options to suit individual preferences. The overall design of the home was beautiful and thoughtful. Gary, the property manager, shared that much of the interior wood came from the property which is pretty cool.

Fall Getaway

Beautiful Property

We had an amazing stay at this property, Everything you need and more. it is in a great location with lots to do. The owners do a great job keeping the property neat and clean with well stocked extras. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Up north

Perfect spot to stay near empire and all the great places to explore. The place was comfortable with everything we needed. We made use of the travel guides and maps provided. Gary promptly answered all my questions.

Close to Dunes

Gary’s house was exactly as we read. It had everything we needed plus more and clean. Close to everything we planned to do to show our grandson the Dunes. We will be back.

Peaceful And Relaxing

Spartan, clean, and welcoming with the necessities for a relaxing stay. Enjoyed starry nights and the only sounds being rustling leaves. Short drive to any of the Sleeping Bear Dunes accesses to the Great Lake and kayaking, hiking, biking, etc. Owner courteous and responsive — thank you for the flowers and yummy cherries. would stay again in a heartbeat.

Gary was very helpful and kind. Im not much for computers so we communicated through text and a phone call. He had the place ready for us earlier than check in and let us know in advance. Very quit, peacful setting, not that the photos are'nt good but the cottage looks even better in person. Nothing was broken or in poor condition, we enjoyed our stay. Thanks Gary!

Perfect spot! Exactly what we needed

Clean, updated, well equipped. Location was perfect! 20 min to Crystal Lake/Crystal Mntn. 7 min to Empire, 10 min to Glen Lake. Gary has provisions that Ive had to bring myself in the past…extra TP, papertowel, dish soap, detergent and beach towels. My only “complaint” is that I wish there were fans to circulate the air a bit, esp at night. But that is truly my preference and only mention it in case someone else is like me and might want to bring a small fan. We will def be seeking out this property for future trips to the area bc it was PERFECT for our needs!

The Perfect Secluded Cottage

We used this secluded home as our home base to explore the towns of Empire, Glen Arbor and Frankfort. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park is only a 10 min drive. Gorgeous part of the USA! The home was perfect for us (2 adults, 1 12yo child). The beds slept fantastic! Kitchen had all we needed. Enjoyed coffee on the deck listening to the birds and watching the squirrels search for treats. We enjoyed the board game selection. Loved the on-site hike through the woods. Had AC avail but didn’t even use it. We opened the windows and enjoyed the cooler breezes that we aren’t used to bc we live in the hot & humid south. The only recommendation I can think of that would be a nice addition/bonus is adding a cooler, 2 beach chairs and a beach umbrella for tenants use. We drove this trip and were able to bring ours with us. However the next visit we will likely fly and won’t be able to bring them so having those items avail would be great for visitors who plan to spend time on the beautiful beaches! Thanks, Gary, for allowing us to use your home!

We had a fabulous stay. The home was cozy, set in the country on a large wooded lot. It was a quick drive to sleeping bear dunes and close to Glenn Arbor. Gary was a responsive host and easy to communicate with. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit the area. Hope to stay here again.

We loved being 6 minutes form Esch Beach and Treat Farm Trail, two of our favorite places in the area. It was clean and quiet, with cozy cabin vibes. Someone did a lot of custom woodwork in this rental! It was nice to have a yard and trails behind the property to explore. The host was friendly and available via text for questions. Thanks, Gary! I hope we get to stay there again soon.

The house was very clean, and stocked with plenty of towels, linens, cooking utensils, paper towel, toilet paper, etc. Perfect location for exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes and Leelanau. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely slice of paradise in Northern Michigan

The property was very pleasant from the deck to the grill and the fire pit to everything in the house. There were great amenities in the house, including paper goods, plenty of towels, and beach towels. It was very comfortable place to spend the week. The accessibility to Empire and the National Lakeshore was perfect.

Family Getaway

Anniversary Get Away

We had a wonderful stay at this VRBO. Gary is a great host and very good with communication. The house was clean. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location. We were able to travel short distances to the things we want to do while we were in the area.

Wonderful home, wonderful host

A great vacation home conveniently located near Sleeping Bear lakeshore. Gary was a wonderful host and good communicator. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening bonfires and the spectacular stargazing.

Fabulous house, great location

We loved this house. It had space for us and our family, and all the amenities we could need for cooking our own meals with a well stocked kitchen. Gary is a fantastic host. He is very attentive and communicative. We couldn't have asked for anything more!
