Thank you for looking! This is the perfect couple's getaway. Stroll among the stately Garry Oaks and old-growth Douglas Firs on our 5-acre property or relax in the outdoor hot tub while admiring the spectacular views of Mt. Constitution and Mt. Baker. Enjoy meadow wildflowers in the Spring, turning leaves in the Fall, or bask on the deck in the warm Summer climate of the San Juans. Whale-watching by Lime Kiln Lighthouse or long walks on South Beach are minutes away by car. We hope you fall in love with the Island just as we have. It’s a lovely place. You must have a car. John is easy to contact. Address on tree could be larger and more reflective for night arrivals and more light from parking area to front door; for safety reasons. Very bare kitchen, bring all your coffee needs,etc. Town is 7 miles away.

We had a lovely time. The hot tub was great and the little house had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the property. The hidden swing was a gem!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay over the weekend, coming to the island for a friend's wedding. Everything was simple and easy, from the check in process to the use of amenities. Sitting under the stars in the hot tub was a highlight!

Exactly what we hoped for!

The property was exactly what we hoped for. It was quiet, clean, and there was a big yard for our dog to sniff around in. The property is only 15 minutes from town which is perfect to get away from all the summer activity at the end of a long day. I would definitely stay here again!

Rhubarb Studio in Spring

We don't understand why the San Juan's aren't busier in May. It's really the most beautiful time of the year! The property was just lovely, with blooming lilacs and perennials (thanks to Lisa for her green thumb!), the lush green meadow, multiple song birds, and even a red fox visitor! We live the new hit tub! Such a wonderful retreat!

Great property, quiet and beautiful

Stayed in the studio. It was fully stocked with everything I needed. John, the property manager was very responsive and was onsite a few times to check on the property. He was personable and was a great resource for local info.Thank you for a wonderful spot!

Another lovely relaxing stay

We always enjoy our status at the Rhubarb House guest studio. This time the cottage had a new look with hardwood floors, and the hot tub is being moved to a new location so guests from both buildings can enjoy it. Even during a cloudy, chilly week it was a great opportunity to relax, recharge, and and enjoy the holiday.

Relaxing stay

Very peaceful stay

We needed to get away from work and this cottage was perfect, very peaceful and enjoyed the beautiful landscaped property as well as the hot tub. Definitely will be staying again!

Peaceful stay

This was a great place, nice property, close to Friday harbor but far enough away to make you feel like you are a little off the grid. Hot tub was super relaxing! Would be fun to go with a bigger group and rent the whole property!

Tranquil Island Retreat

My husband, our dog, and I enjoyed a long holiday weekend at the Rhubarb Cottage and loved every second: it’s the perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Friday Harbor. Every morning, my dog and I walked around the property and neighborhood. We loved spending a long afternoon in the hot tub. The cottage is pretty spacious for a little studio, with a large bathroom and separate kitchen area. Having a washer/dryer and dishwasher is also a nice perk for a small space! We loved our time in the Rhubarb Cottage and can’t wait to return.

Peaceful Retreat!

So quiet and so picturesque! The Rhubarb studio was a perfect spot to stay while exploring San Juan Island. Everything you could possibly need was right there and anything else you could want was just a short drive away. This spot worked wonderfully for us

A slice of heaven!

The cottage and property are better than advertised! The location is within a few minutes of downtown and you’ll wish the drive was longer - the landscape is total eye candy! The cottage is comfy and well appointed and very clean! The property manager was welcoming - he even turned on the lights for us when he realized we were arriving after dark and filled a bowl of water for our pup!! We can’t wait to come back!!

Love the location, cute place!

Cute cottage, beautiful grounds. We knew there was a kitchenette and we brought food- be prepared to improvise. There's no spatula, some basic cooking tools, coffee. We were able to make it work with some creativity. The cottage is right next door to the house, but there is privacy to the hot tub side of the yard if you want to stroll the grounds and get outside. Gorgeous trees, we had a wonderful afternoon photographing them and enjoying the beautiful day! :)
