Thank you for looking! This is the perfect couple's getaway. Stroll among the stately Garry Oaks and old-growth Douglas Firs on our 5-acre property or relax in the outdoor hot tub while admiring the spectacular views of Mt. Constitution and Mt. Baker. Enjoy meadow wildflowers in the Spring, turning leaves in the Fall, or bask on the deck in the warm Summer climate of the San Juans. Whale-watching by Lime Kiln Lighthouse or long walks on South Beach are minutes away by car. We hope you fall in love with the Island just as we have. Just as wonderful for a return visit

Very peaceful stay

We needed to get away from work and this cottage was perfect, very peaceful and enjoyed the beautiful landscaped property as well as the hot tub. Definitely will be staying again!

Relaxing stay

Had a great stay at the cottage with my boyfriend and our pup. We were in town for a family wedding so it was a nice spot to recharge.

Another lovely relaxing stay

We always enjoy our status at the Rhubarb House guest studio. This time the cottage had a new look with hardwood floors, and the hot tub is being moved to a new location so guests from both buildings can enjoy it. Even during a cloudy, chilly week it was a great opportunity to relax, recharge, and and enjoy the holiday.

Peaceful stay

This was a great place, nice property, close to Friday harbor but far enough away to make you feel like you are a little off the grid. Hot tub was super relaxing! Would be fun to go with a bigger group and rent the whole property!

Peaceful Retreat!

So quiet and so picturesque! The Rhubarb studio was a perfect spot to stay while exploring San Juan Island. Everything you could possibly need was right there and anything else you could want was just a short drive away. This spot worked wonderfully for us

Lovely getaway

We loved our stay! A beautiful cottage that marries rustic with comfort. The hot tub was fantastic and the night sky put on a show. Would definitely return!

Perfect Honeymoon Getaway

This property was perfect for my husband and I to spend our honeymoon. Ten minutes from Downtown Friday Harbor it was close enough to great shopping and restaurants while still feeling like a private country cabin. We explored all over the island during our two night stay. Lime Kiln Cafe on Roche Harbor has the best eggs Benedict!

Perfect Oasis!

LOVE THIS PLACE! The hot tub was so nice to come home to after exploring around the island! We loved how quiet and peaceful it was, seeing all those stars was an added bonus! Tucked away from the downtown area, but still close and easy to get to. Highly recommend!

Incredible Property

I can’t stop talking about the beauty of the property, tucked away off the main road. The land is gorgeous and so is the house. 5/5; I only wish we stayed longer!

Perfect for a quick trip!

The land was much bigger than I thought it would be. Property manager was so quick to respond to my message when both booking & when I checked in and had a question. The hot tub was such a great added bonus!

A little escape

Loved our stay here! Minimalist studio with a great amount of space for us and our 2 large dogs. We loved being able to explore the five acres and our dogs loved running around. Hot tub was much needed too! We will be back!

A slice of heaven!

The cottage and property are better than advertised! The location is within a few minutes of downtown and you’ll wish the drive was longer - the landscape is total eye candy! The cottage is comfy and well appointed and very clean! The property manager was welcoming - he even turned on the lights for us when he realized we were arriving after dark and filled a bowl of water for our pup!! We can’t wait to come back!!

Tranquil Island Retreat

My husband, our dog, and I enjoyed a long holiday weekend at the Rhubarb Cottage and loved every second: it’s the perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Friday Harbor. Every morning, my dog and I walked around the property and neighborhood. We loved spending a long afternoon in the hot tub. The cottage is pretty spacious for a little studio, with a large bathroom and separate kitchen area. Having a washer/dryer and dishwasher is also a nice perk for a small space! We loved our time in the Rhubarb Cottage and can’t wait to return.

TLC Needed

This is clearly a very special place. The beauty and privacy are incredible, and it was certainly comfortable. But it is in desperate need of a deep cleaning (moldy coffee grounds in rickety old mr coffee was quite off putting; cobwebs are spectacular) and updating (or at least sheets that fit the bed and a few more plates and bowls).

Love the location, cute place!

Cute cottage, beautiful grounds. We knew there was a kitchenette and we brought food- be prepared to improvise. There's no spatula, some basic cooking tools, coffee. We were able to make it work with some creativity. The cottage is right next door to the house, but there is privacy to the hot tub side of the yard if you want to stroll the grounds and get outside. Gorgeous trees, we had a wonderful afternoon photographing them and enjoying the beautiful day! :)

Super peaceful!

We loved our stay at the studio. It was quiet and peaceful. The other house on the property is right next to this one so it was a little confusing as to who’s car went where. Neither of us knew we’d have neighbors but once that was established everything went smoothly. There was all the very basic kitchen dishes, but be sure to bring your own tea/coffee/creamer/sweetener. The hot tub was DIVINE. We were lucky to be there on a clear autumn weekend and got to lie in the hot tub and watch the Milky Way

Amazing relaxing couples (plus dog) getaway

The girlfriend and I had such a good time getting away to quiet San Juan Island. Blythe’s property had two listings and this review is for the cottage studio. The location was well off the main road to make it a quiet weekend retreat. The studio itself had a comfortable bed plus an outdoor jacuzzi. There was nothing better than getting a good night’s rest, waking up and taking a stroll around the massive shared yard, and then hopping into the jacuzzi to start one’s day. Overall we had a wonderful time and would love to come back. Also, shoutout to our neighbors in the other VRBO who apparently have been coming back several times a year. They returned one afternoon and gave us a freshly caught and cooked Dungeness crab!
