Enjoy a true Up North experience at Good Times in the Pines. Our cabin is located on a beautiful wooded 5 acres but close to snowmobile trails, ski hills, restaurants, golf courses, wineries, beaches, and shopping. The interior of the home has been completely renovated, all new furniture, beds, and bedding, and features a fully stocked kitchen.

***New 6 Person Hot Tub!

On the main level of the home you will find a fully stocked kitchen (Crate and Barrel dishes, servers, and glassware), island with two bar stools, four seat dining table, living room with 86 inch internet TV, master bedroom with king bed, full bathroom (shower), and laundry room. Upstairs features the second bedroom with a king bed, desk, and recliner, full bathroom (shower/tub combo), and third bedroom with two queen beds and desk. This third bedroom is open to the stairs and you pass by it to enter the second bedroom so it is great for children or people who do not mind a loft style sleeping arrangement.

Outdoor seating includes two rocking chairs, two stationary chairs, and two zero gravity chairs on the upper deck near the Blackstone Grill and a six seat dining table on the lower deck. The back patio features a new Hot Tub and outdoor kitchen and bar. The backyard features a fire pit with ten seats and fully stocked wood shed. Yard games include Cornhole, Ringo, Jenga, and Kubb.

The walk out basement includes a bar (sink, full size fridge, ice, coffee maker, microwave), 4 bar stools, pool table, wood stove, couch and 86 inch internet TV. The other side of the basement features an additional queen bedroom, full bathroom (shower), and 2 desks. Indoor activities include Puzzles, cards, and board games. Speakers for music are provided in basement and living room.

Starlink Internet - very fast and can be used for video calls. Dog friendly! We love dogs and provide bowls, towels, treats, and bags. Please do not leave your dog unattended in the home or bring a kennel.

We designed and furnished this home so that it will be ideal for guests who need to work remotely (4 desks) and guests who want to cook more elaborate meals and spend time together enjoying the home and property.

Girls Trip

Great property. Super nice fire pit, hot tub and basement. Appreciated the Crate and Barrel dishes. Just wish some of the pans, cookie sheets and the oven were nicer/ cleaner. That likely happens with renters, so, sort of understandable, but, refreshing that would’ve been better. Dishwasher did’t work so we hand washed. No doubt property manager will fix that as she was very responsive when we notified her.

Our family stayed at this lovely home last weekend as a meet-up spot for siblings, and we had such a nice time! The house had enough beds for everyone, there was plenty of space to congregate together, the kitchen was fully stocked with nice dishes and utensils, and the outdoor area was perfect for yard games and campfires. It was exactly what we needed, and the cleanliness was superb! Will definitely be back!

Clean, comfortable, well-appointed place 15 min from Highlands/Nub's

Had a fantastic time staying here for a ski weekend with family, and would happily stay again in the future. Place was clean and comfortable for 2 families w/children, plus a pet. The host was responsive via messages regarding any questions, and we didn't run into any problems.

Great Place!

Really enjoyed our stay at Good Times in The Pines. House was very nice and fit our party perfectly. 15 minutes to the mountains and 3 to town. Enjoyed eating at Bobs Place. Hot tub was great too after skiing. Highly recommended. Thanks!

Family fun

The property was perfect for our family with different ages and needs. The houze itself has everythinf you need for entertaient and comfort. It is also near enough to Mackinaw that we did a day trip to the island and to Petoskey beach and local hikes. Would recommend this place to anyone : )

Great place!

Wonderful house off the beaten path in a quiet wooded area but still close to everything Lake Michigan and the surrounding area has to offer. The house had all amenities for our family and we all had a wonderful time. Host was super responsive and helpful. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Nice place to stay

Place was big but had lots of pet hair. Vaccum would not work and hot water ran out quickly. Other then that it was enough space for our family. The area was nice and quite.

Dads & Daughters Weekend

Really nice home with great amenities. We stayed 2 nights with 5 teenage daughters. Hot tub, comfy beds, nice firepit and overall just a nicely decorated house. Our daughters loved it. Host was very responsive and we had a great time here. You won't be disappointed.

Great get away to relax!

Check in was a breeze. We absolutely loved the outside area and spent a lot of our time out there. The overall cleanliness of the home was good but we did find the floors were not very clean as all of the kids feet turned black within minutes, we found other peoples socks under several of the beds, the outdoor Blackstone had been left very dirty with a full and dripping grease trap, and the basement did have a almost mildew like smell. We had a great time playing pool and sitting by the fire roasting s’mores! It was a great relaxing trip. There are tons of beaches within a 25 minute drive. Unfortunately with so much construction going getting around was a little bit of a pain (not anything that they are at fault for just a forewarning!) The property manager was professional and quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had!

Relaxing Stay!

When researching the area for stay options, our priorities were cleanliness, safety, and space. This rental had it all! The outdoor space was great for our furry friend and kids to have fun. The firepit was the perfect way to wind down the day with smores for the kids and beverages for the adults. The General Store near by was also a great source for groceries so we could make our own meals. The inside was updated and provided a comfortable, clean stay. Just a short drive to all the draws of Mackinaw and the surrounding region. When we left, everyone agreed we should stay here next year! Host was great and responsive. I highly recommend this space.

Amazing place!

What a great home! There were 9 of us and we all had plenty of space. The home is well-maintained and very clean. The outdoor space is amazing - grill, counter and table to eat, and new hot tub - all made for a relaxing environment.

Cozy home!

This was the perfect place for our two families - four adults and 3 teenagers. It was also the perfect location for skiing at Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob - only a 15 minute drive -which was the reason for our stay. Our families enjoyed the home and the amenities - pool table and hot tub. Our families usually take turns making meals on trips like this, but we didn’t realize there wasn’t a kitchen table for us all of us to sit down together - this didn’t bother us, however, and we made it work with the options available, but if this is a must for other families - this may not be the place for you. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and all our needs (soaps, trash bags, etc.) Loved that there was a fridge in the basement as well as on the main floor. Overall, no complaints and would highly recommend!

We have always been interested in the vacation rental business and in February 2022 we closed on Good Times in the Pines! For the next 4 months the chalet underwent extensive renovations including all new landscaping, finished basement, and entertainment space in the back yard. We designed this space so that it has everything guests need to have a relaxing and fun experience. We love this home and hope that you and your family or friends have a blast on your vacation!
