Heated Pool, Hot Tub, Ground Level 4 BR 3 bath. Sleeps 9, in 5 beds.

Note: Rates are for 6 guests. Extra guests $20 per night each. Centrally located community of Serra Mesa, sometimes called 'Birdland' because all the streets are named after birds. It is a residential neighborhood just north of Mission Valley, 1/2 mile from the entrance to Interstate 163 that connects to other major freeways, and about a ten minute drive to most attractions, downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, the zoo, Sea World, Qualcomm Stadium, Petco Park, Old Town, Seaport village, and San Diego International airport (SAN). It is 20 minutes to the Tijuana border and 30 minutes to Lego land, the Wild Animal Park, and several casinos. This is great central location.

House has 4 bedrooms. Bedroom next to the Master bedroom doubles as a office with a quality futon if needed for sleeping and has a door to the back yard. Master bedroom and fourth bedrooms both have private baths. Main bath has a claw foot tub that came from Hotel San Diego.

Rates are for 6 guests. There is a nightly fee of $20 per extra guest per night.

Pool is a nice sized pool with 9 ft deep end, A safety fence and self closing gate. Pool is solar heated and 9 months of year requires no gas heat. To heat pool to 80 degrees Nov - Mar with gas there is a $75 per day fee

Parking is in carport and always plenty of street parking. Even if you have a boat or trailer there is street around corner that has plenty of room and neighbor has security camera watching that street.

The host was very responsive and kind. This property met all our large family's needs. The double twin beds were great for our 3 grandchildren. The kitchen was so well stocked. The beds were very comfy. The house is well used and could use an update but for us we didn't worry about the kids not being kids. So many baby/toddler supplies and the pool toys were plentiful. The pool was a little cool for us so we did heat it for 4 of the 7 days and the outdoor temps ranged from 68 to 78 during the day and upper 50's most nights. The pool area is very large and we were grateful for the fenced area so our 20 month old could be outside and see but be safe. Loved the round table for our Thanksgiving feast! The van fit in the carport, yay! The location was excellent for getting to the main thorough fairs, stores and around town. We had City passes and they were great.We never heard or saw a same house neighbor.If you are meticulous or fancy, you probably wouldn't be content here. It checked all our boxes!

We used for central location for our family wedding we didn't use the pool, but hot tub one night loved the beautiful plants and trees and outside area . Everyone was comfortable and owner was easy to get in touch with. Loved the large dining table that can seat 8 .

Very nice house! Perfect for our big family for us to stay and attend our son’s graduation from Marine boot camp. Quick easy 18 minute drive to MCRD!!! The pool was great and hot tub was awesome!

The listing claimed this was an “entire home,” but it was not. When we arrived, the front door code didn’t work. A man came out and told us to enter through the side door. One bedroom had bunk beds and a window with blinds installed on the outside facing what appeared to be his living quarters—extremely unsettling. Several closets had deadbolts, likely connecting to the other side of the home. His presence was clear, though never disclosed. This shared setup was completely misrepresented.Other issues:Pool full of bugs/debris; my son had to skim it. We also added water to both pool and hot tub.Instructions were vague—especially for shutoffs and pool care.It was 85F inside on arrival with open skylights. No central air. Window units struggled to cool overnight.Constant ant problem. Killer spray left, but no vinegar, and the bottle stopped working. We literally had ants crawling on us—even after leaving.Dirty, dusty dishes in cabinets. We had to wash everything before use.My son cut his foot on a broken pool light. None of the pool or hot tub lights worked.Coffee pot didn’t work. I had to buy one. Keurig and Nespresso weren’t usable.Listing photos seemed outdated and didn’t reflect current conditions.

Overall impression was very good. The property is a little dated and could do with a good deep clean in some places - there were a few cobwebs throughout.The property was well equipped throughout with plenty of kitchen equipment, pool furniture and inflatable toys for the pool too. For any British visitors, there was also a kettle! The pool was fantastic, it was clean and the temperature was just right too. The solar heating does an excellent job. It was really nice to come back each evening and cool off in the pool for a while before dinner.We had one problem with the shower backing up on the second night, but after calling the owner he arranged a drain service visit for the next day. Other than that, we had no issues with the property beyond a few ant incursions. These were easily dealt with using the spray left by the owner and by making sure we cleared the side of all the crumbs each day.In terms of location, it’s easy to find and the check in notes were comprehensive. There’s off road parking for one vehicle, and it’s about 20 minutes to downtown San Diego. The WiFi was fast and reliable which meant the kids were happy.If we are ever in San Diego again we would definitely consider staying here again, it was comfortable and convenient. There is so much to see and do within easy reach of this property.

Everyone enjoyed the property and slept comfortably. The pool and jacuzzi were a nice touch, good shade, plenty of towels. One of the sinks was a little backed up, but a mild inconvenience. Everything worked fine. I had to double-check with Vrbo about some check-in concerns which took quite a while to confirm, but was resolved. A camera overlooks the driveway/entrance, not sure if it’s the only one. Though the transactions with the owners went smoothly and they seemed like respectful people. Overall was a pleasant stay, and am grateful.

Great for Our Group

We had an extended family trip with 5 adults and a teen. The bedrooms and bathrooms worked well for us and we all enjoyed the pool! The location is in a residential area so having a car was helpful but ride service prices were reasonable too (20ish from the ballpark after the game). There are a Trader Joe's and a BevMo nearby. The afternoon sun made the poolside bedrooms and the living room pretty warm so we used the box fans to move air around. If you need complete dark to sleep, recommend an eye mask too.We stayed 6 nights and made a couple of grocery runs but the house already had most of what we needed. There were pool towels and extra linens, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, a few coffee pods for the keurig and nespresso machines, a drip coffee pot, and various condiments. We didn't cook but the kitchen had what we needed for easy breakfasts and reheating leftovers. It looked to be supplied for cooking too.It's a challenge to find something that works for 3 generations but this house was perfect for us and we'd definitely stay again!

Loved having the 4 bedrooms. The older boys in the bunk beds and baby had his own room with pack n play. The 3 bathrooms were all used. This house had everything you will need with kids. The pool and hot tub, the kids loved after our busy days. They didn’t want to come home.

Had a wonderful stay in a central location in San Diego. It was a short 10-15 minute drive to get to different attractions.Our kids enjoyed the pool and we loved the hot tub!Clean place, lots of space, and owner was very easy to communicate with.

Great place to spend some family time

We were very pleased with the property. It was just as it was advertised… maybe better. The pool was bigger than we thought. We had a great time and great communication with the owners. We would highly recommend!

Solar heated pool during swimming season and covered patio. The location is a prime advantage since your are about 10 minutes from most San Diego attractions but still in a quiet residential neighborhood. There is only one street in and out of area so there is no through traffic.
