You are just 300 steps from the beach and the Gulf of Mexico in this light, spacious, comfortable island vacation rental home. The Captiva Vacation Home is nestled among other estate zoned properties in this stretch of Captiva Island, also referred to as the Gold Coast. At times the private beach will seem deserted to you and you will feel as if you own it. Using this Captiva Island vacation rental as your base, simply enjoy relaxing on the beach, collecting some of the shells for which Captiva is famous, swim in the Gulf of Mexico, fish for some of Captiva's well-known gamefish (right off the beach or the dock)... or go biking, kayaking, parasailing, golfing, boating, bird watching, surfing... And for your off-beach entertainment this vacation rental home has a heated pool plenty of modern amenities inside, including Direct TV in the living room with with VHS and DVD, Smart TV in the bedrooms, and wireless internet.
Your pet may be accepted with prior approval, and we expect the following: dogs stay off furniture and beds, are not left unsupervised and will be crated if left unattended indoors. You need to vacuum after your pet if it sheds excessively and pick up after your dog.

Easy to get to the beach from the house. The fishing from the dock was great. Everything we needed to cook dinner was available. The plants and flowers were colorful. The house was very hidden and peaceful. Communication was great. House was very clean, tidy and very spacious.

Overall a good holiday and a privilege to stay there, thank you. One slight issue, which in hindsight I should have raised with the owner, was the 'beach furniture'; 3 deckchairs collapsed on us and clearly had seen better days and the beach umbrella was completely unserviceable. Minor points but given we'd left our own beach shelter home as one was quoted as being available, that was a shame. By contrast, we did have use of a superlative beach trolley which was marvellous.

The property was beautiful! The house was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The pool was large enough for the 4 of us with floats and it was surrounded by tropical vegetation. The dock was a great hangout spot to look for wildlife. The beach was located directly across the street and we virtually had the beach to ourselves all week. It’s close to great restaurants and a few souvenir shops. We couldn’t have asked for anything else!

Perfect location. Property very clean. Margarethe and husband very pleasant and helpful with their introduction to Captiva and Sanibel. Did not fish from the dock but it was in a great location. Very quiet in the evening. Everything was as advertised

Even though you can’t see the water from the home, the private beach was so relaxing and enjoyable. The owners were very responsive to our needs and made us feel very welcome.

The Captiva Vacation Home was very welcoming to us and our pets. We didn't use the laundry service but did use the house washer and dryer and they were great.

The property is amazing. One of the most relaxing vacations we’ve even taken. The house is the top floor of the guest house. It is so spacious, clean and private. The beds were SO comfortable. Plenty of bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, beach tent… everything you need. Kitchen is well appointed with both a regular drip coffee maker and a Keurig. We loved swimming in the pool, then heading to the beach to collect shells and swim on the practically private beach. (I think we saw one family a block away one day lol! Really, it’s that private!) We fished off the dock at night when the snook were EVERYWHERE. We used live shrimp bait (suggested by the owners daughter who we saw for a few minutes- thank you!!!!) and caught over a dozen fish. The property is a magnificent garden with gorgeous flora and fruit trees. The grill served us well, and the refrigerator was awesome with filtered water and filtered ice- and ice nugget option which we loved. There was barely a need to leave the property but we did eat at a few restaurants for dinner and they were an easy 5-10 minute drive. Highly recommend and we hope to be back!! Thank you!!

Wow!! What a beautiful location and home! We were able to go to the beach down a very short path. We went for long walks on the beach every morning! Then would swim in the private pool in the afternoon! Then would go back to the beach to watched the beautiful sunset every night! The house was very nice and roomy!The host is very extremely friendly and the response was always fast.Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home!!

Home is spacious, clean with comfortable beds! Short walk to an expansive, beautiful private beach. Fishing off the dock was FANTASTIC - many fish dinners! Pool is wonderful encased in landscaping that was both beautiful and provided great privacy. This landscaping was throughout the entire property. Hosts could not have been better. All in all, a perfect vacation. Already booked for next year!

It was a wonderful Christmas getaway for everyone in our family. The location could not be more perfect, and the host welcomed us to use all the amenities. The house is beautiful and comfortable, with everything one could need. The gardens and the pool were fantastic. An easy walk to the beach or the dock for fishing made it hard to leave the property to do anything else. We hope to be able to return someday. Thank you so much!!
