Both bedrooms have a queen size bed. The sectional sofa does pull out for additional bed. There are two full bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped. Washer and dryer are located inside one of the bathrooms.
gas fireplace are features of the living room area. The chalet sits on the Shenandoah River with water access for tubing and fishing. The two large decks offer beautiful views of the river along with the mountains that surround the property and also lining provided $25 per set....

The chalet was a very nice getaway for a couple of days. Very clean and there were fresh flowers welcoming us. There were no bed linens provided, which was not noted in the listing. This was an issue for our family. Location was excellent for what we wanted to do. We enjoyed the hot tub on a very cold winter evening. The gas fireplace was a lovely feature.

Family of four, with our teens. Stayed for a week at the end of August. The good: relatively close to Shenandoah Nat Park, everything is under an hour away. The caverns were 20 mins. Wal-Mart about 10 mins. Highly recommend the caverns, including the Skylight and Lavern caverns. The property was ok, beds were comfortable and a well stocked kitchen. Clearly, past residents took care and left items for others to enjoy. There is an odd basement, wasnt really and issue but a LOT of missed opportunity to put a game room or other bunks down there.The others: The AC unit is not appropriate for that property! It got up to the 80s in the upstairs master room. The ceiling fan did not work in that room either. The image of the living room is not accurate. We brought sheets that did not fit. The hot tub was WAY WAY over chlorinated. We took some of the chlorine tablets out, but the host put them back in. The water did not get warm at all. The firepits were completely full of ash If there were shovels, we could have cleaned it out. It is close to the river, however the access is overgrown with poison ivy everywhere. Lastly, the highway noise was a huge issue for us. We were hoping to enjoy the relative solitude but that just was not possible with how close the highway was. You wouldn't know the exact location until after booking unfortunately. Recommendations: hire a professional pool cleaner for the hot tubs. Fix the fans!! Provide a shovel and people will clean up after themselves.

A great place to stay

It is hidden and on a river, it's really beautiful there. We were there when there was no other residence, so my pup and my grandchildren were able to play. It's in the front yard.The owner was very nice and accommodating

The chalet was lovely!

It was the perfect mix of serenity, but yet being close to exploring the Caverns & Skyline Drive! We had an amazing time & would definitely choose the chalet again! I loved all the beautiful wood features & rocking chairs on the deck.

Cabin was a little tricky to find, however, the property manager sent great directions once you're able to get to the address on the main road. The cabin itself is nice! It's definitely rustic and remote. We had no cell service and there was no available WiFi so staying with kids and planning trips off property was a little difficult.

Quick getaway

Decided to take a last minute trip to get the kids out doing Easter break. Great location for Shenandoah Park and luray caverns. Cabin was very warm and inviting cozy love the fireplace kids love the hot tub location on the river very quiet got to see a ton of stars at night.

We went to see Luray Caverns. Comfortable. Clean - big points for clean! Hot tub to finish the night. Very quiet. We all said we’d keep this for future trips.

Our family stayed here overnight on our way to see Luray Caverns. We loved the location on the river and wished we could stay another day to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and soak in the hot tub. We got in very late, but the host made it easy to check in without assistance. We were a little put-off by the rough road thinking we might be headed for trouble because you have to drive down a steep, moderately rutted dirt road to get to the cabin, so there may be some vehicles that would have trouble handling it. There's plenty of parking available, and the cabin was spacious, comfortable, and reasonably clean - not shiny clean. It's a rustic gem.

Beautiful property, peaceful setting with amazing views

Having never been to Virginia before, this was a very extreme difference from what I am used to. Breathtaking views all over, the locals were amazing and polite, and the cabin was perfect for the 3 of us. We had enough space we could move around without feeling like we were on top of each other, the other added bonuses like the hot tub, the grill and the fire pit were all well appreciated. You won't be disappointed, its close enough to the basic needs to not feel like you need to sacrifice, but its tucked away beautifully when you want to feel like you want the peace and quiet.

We enjoyed the cabin so much

The place is so clean and lovely. The quietness made us feel so relax. Everything in total is excellent. We will go back and book more days. My visiting friend from NY would love to take her family in the cabin and enjoy the sceneries of Shenand0oah National Park. It would have been better if we were provided with beddings as we ended up buying them. When we got there, the dryer's door was not working.

Relaxing, Comfortable, Spacious, Tucked Away Mini Getaway

Great getaway for two families with little ones! Patricia made us feel completely at home. She is a wonderful host. The Chalet has a very warm, welcoming, log cabin feeling. It is tucked away with lots of privacy and space! The home is equipped with the necessities. The hot tub is a wonderful delight at night! The Chalet is on the newer side, clean, and linens provided. The home is close to Luray, caverns, river activities, Skyline Drive, etc. There are some really great local spots nearby such as Cooter's and the Country Corner down the highway a bit. We enjoyed our one of a kind stay. We made some wonderful lasting memories in the Chalet, and hope to return in the future! Thank you Patricia!

House was very nice just what we needed!! Hot tub was very nice after a long day hiking. Only thing was there was no sheets for the bedding. It is listed in listing but didn't realize it until we got there. Just want to make sure you are prepared for that.

Beautiful spot

My family and I had a wonderful time here! It's a beautiful spot with breathtaking views of the Shenandoah. The house was clean and larger than I expected. The kids had fun exploring the surrounding area.

Nice view

The cabin was cleanish the floors really needed to be cleaned they were pretty dirty and the couch needed a good cleaning. There is a futon but it’s not very comfortable. There is a noise that sounds like a vibrating pump noise that comes about every 30-60 minutes you can hear in the downstairs bedroom. There is a lot of dog hair from previous owners on the floor. The view is very nice and the bathrooms are very clean. It’s nice that there is a washer and dryer for use. The beds were comfortable. The owner was very fast to respond when we could not get the fireplace working. The fireplace was nice to have and the hot tub was very clean and enjoyable. Overall it was a good stay and and the location is nice and close to things. The house was spacious and we would stay here again.

We love the chalet!

Our three day stay was a reunion of four high school friends. We had a wonderful time! The chalet was exceptionally clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. This was my second day, and I definitely will be back. Thank you Patricia for allowing us to use your lovely home!

Luray Waterfront

When we arrived the cover was off of the hot tub, so there were leaves and other debris in the water. It was also broken and would not heat up. We alerted the owner, but she took over 24hrs to respond. We were very disappointed, because a hot tub was one of the few criteria that we wanted for the weekend. When the owner finally responded she didn’t seem very apologetic saying, “at least at 90 it didn’t need be a high temperature.”

Lovely chalet

My husband and I rented the chalet for 4 nights. It was beautiful and spotlessly clean when we arrived. Communication with the owner, Patricia, was via email, and we could get no phone signal at the chalet, thus only 4 out of 5 stars for communication. We had a lovely stay, and would recommend the Foggy River Chalet.

Family weekend

This was a great place for our family to be close enough to stores while still being on the river. The river access was great for the family, even the kids, because of the water level at the tile and because an arm of the river branches off in front of the house lessening the speed of the water. The cabin was modern but classic and had all of the essentials!

AWESOME CABIN, VIEW AND OWNER!

The cabin was beautiful and clean. It had everything we needed and more! Beautiful view beside the river. This area is very private and I would love to return in warmer weather to fully enjoy the river! Both beds were very comfortable and plenty of sitting room in the living room. Gas fireplace was very nice and warmed the room quickly! The location was very private, but close enough to Luray and stores to never have to go far to enjoy Luray. The owner was very nice and responded very quickly to all questions. Patricia was great to talk to and made us feel welcomed in her home! We would highly recommend a visit to this property! Wonderful Shenandoah

We stayed three nights at the cabin to allow us time to visit and hike Shenandoah NP. The location was convenient to the park plus it had a nice yard right on the river. The layout worked perfect for the four of us and it was well equipped. While we did not take advantage of the hot tub and grill, we did enjoy the peaceful setting from the front porch. We will definitely stay with Patricia again.

Harry and Patricia Price are the owners of the Foggy River Chalet. The Foggy River Cabin was first owned by Harry on his family's 65 acre farm. While in the process of the Foggy River Lodge, he met Patricia. Two years later, they were married in front of the lodge. They later built the Foggy River Chalet together. Both Harry and Patricia were born and raised in Luray.
