'Aargh House' - our cedar paradise

The ideal location of this home features both privacy and the convenience to all the island's amenities. Relax in the enclosure of oak, pine and palm, yet still be able bike or walk 3 short blocks to the grocery, restaurants and shops. When it's time for a swim, just slip out your backyard down your private path and shortcut toward the beach which is only a 3-minute walk away.

This uniquely designed, multi-level home is extremely spacious, with a large open living area featuring a hardwood floor, a dramatic vaulted ceiling, skylights, a HDTV with Blu-ray and comfortable furniture. If you are cooking in the kitchen, you can still be part of the conversation and fun, as the kitchen is open to the living and dining area. Enjoy your meals indoors or out, as the tiled dining room opens onto a large 40' X 12' sun-drenched, partially covered deck equipped for ultimate relaxation and sun worshiping. If it gets too hot there, simply take a break and relax in the palm tree shaded hammock in the tree grove next to the bbq pit.

Up three steps from the living area are two spacious bedrooms (queen beds) with HDTVs and shared bathroom in the hallway. Up the flight of stairs is the light-filled master bedroom and bath. Have a glass of wine on your private deck with its view of the Gulf, then keep your sliding screened door open and let the sound of the ocean lull you to sleep.

The very private outdoor hot-and-cold shower is great after a day at the beach, or just for cooling off.

Make sure you bring Rover to this pet friendly home. He'll enjoy relaxing in his 10' x 10' covered outdoor pen after a run on the beach.

Only 8 miles away, Apalachicola is a great day trip. In 2008, the National Trust for Historic Preservation named Apalachicola a Distinctive Destination: architecture, beautiful antebellum homes, a true working waterfront are some of the reasons for this award. Only 2 other Florida cities share this distinction, Key West and Fernandina Beach. Shop, eat, and tour this historic district of old Florida.

The home is clean and well stocked. The kitchen is well stocked to cook meals. Great communication and check in/out was very simple.

We stay at this home frequently. It's private, spacious, close to everything and comes at a very reasonable price.The hosts are great and easy to get in touch with. For older people who may worry about medical care I can I can honestly say that between the volunteer emt's and those on the payroll a BIG THUMBS UP! They are quick, compassionate, knowledgeable and thorough. I have medical background and these guys didn't miss a thing. Shout out to Tom and Tara for everything. We will be looking forward to next year.

We love this home. The location is perfect, there is plenty of privacy, the beds were comfy, they have skylights upstairs and downstairs, the hosts provide everything you need and the outdoor space is a great place to read a good book. You can prepare all your meals here or you can enjoy a beachfront grouper dinner and a sandblaster right around the corner at the Blue Parrot.Thank you Tom and Tara!! We appreciate both of you for letting us return. We'll talk to you again in September.

This was our second stay at The Argh House and we enjoyed it just as much as we did the first time. It is conveniently located to everything and is a short walk to the beach. We will be back again.

Our stay at the Aargh House.

We had a great time staying at the aargh house. It's a very clean, beautiful house and is convenient to the beach, restaurants and stores. We will definitely be staying there again when we come back down.

Everything was great except there was no ESPN or SEC. We are sports people and expected to have ability to watch college football and basketball. We WOULD stay there again

Lovely home near the beach

We had a great time at Aargh House! It was a quick walk to the beach and very close to a boat ramp for our fishing excursions. The house was great; comfortable rooms, cold ac, and an awesome back deck that we spent a lot of time on! Highly recommended!!

Best home we have stayed at on Sgi. Private, spacious, open concept, location, bright and clean, outside space, awesome foliage. Everything and then some. We leave relaxed and fulfilled, having squeezed everything in and had perfect weather. We can't wait to return next spring. Thanks to our wonderful hosts for allowing us to use their beautiful home!

Nice house in great location.

This is a large home with 3 nice bedrooms. There was lots of room to walk the dog in the yard and neighborhood streets. We loved the big deck off the living room. Short walk to the beach. Check in and out was easy.

Excellent stay!

We had a wonderful time at St. George Island. The house is in a great location, only a short golf cart ride away from shops and restaurants. The house was perfect for a stay with teens and dogs with a very private yard, entire upstairs suit for the parents, separate rooms for the kids and multiple enclosed decks so the pets were easily outside yet contained! The owner was friendly and easy to commit with. We hope to stay again in the future!

Great place

We really enjoyed our stay, the house had everything we needed plus ! The location is great, close to beach, close to town, yet has a private feel to it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had a jacuzzi tub , something new since the last time we stayed there. I love that it has a lot of outdoor space to enjoy! We were able to bring both of our dogs. Owners were a pleasure to work with! We would definitely rent this home again!

It was a bit of a struggle to find lids that fit the pots and pans correctly or sharp knives, but the kitchen had what we needed otherwise. The entry downstairs smelled pretty badly like wet dog, but it is a pet friendly place and once we were settled we just avoided going through the house that way. The house is in the perfect location secluded between both sides of the island. Just a short walk one way for the sunrise and the other way for the sunset. The back deck is perfect for starting or rounding out the day. Just a short walk away to ice cream, coffee and açai bowls making the teenagers very happy. Would love to go back but for 2 weeks next time!! PS - the outdoor shower is amazing!

Our family is scattered and we wanted to make a home where we can all get together and relax in the off-season. Life is short, right? The name 'Aargh House' -- yes, ok, beach, ships, pirates -- derived from the fact that during renovation we must have each said 'aargh' about 100 times a day as we searched high and low for misplaced tools, dripped paint and hammered our thumbs. Soon aargh turned into Aargh House which kept us laughing so the name stuck. Aargh House is a very very very fine house.

We had rented houses in St. George a few years in a row and loved the area. So one day we just started looking to buy and this house was a stunning find.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

This is an architecturally beautiful home, with vaulted ceilings and skylights on a large lot. Technically, it's a corner lot, but the 'road' that is supposed to lead all the way to the beach is partially grown over and so acts as our second driveway. We carved a private path through it for a quicker walk to the beach.
