SEMI OCEAN FRONT 5 BEDROOM COTTAGE HAS OCEAN VIEW FROM NEW TOP DECK!

SAILFISH IN AVON is a lovely 5 bedroom beach cottage located on an ocean front cul de sac that is seconds away from beach access. You do not have to cross a street to go over the dunes.! Walk out the front door of Sailfish, go to the street, (S. Beachcomber) turn to your right and go north on S. Beachcomber). Go past the next door neighbor' s house and the wooden walkway to the beach is right after the neighbor s house. Turn right and go over the dunes on the wooden walkway to the lovely beach. We also accept pets. There is a pet fee. Part of our renovation this year is new flooring. NO carpet anywhere except for the stairs.
OUR OTHER RENOVATION includes NEWLY CONSTRUCTED. OUTSIDE STAIRS AND DECKS! We also have all stainless steel kitchen appliances. We have a Keurig coffee pot as well as a Mr. Coffee.
.Avon is a great village with a Food Lion, ice cream shops, gift shops, Studio 12 for pottery painting and terrific restaurants. We also have a new CANDY STORE! Come spread your blanket on our gorgeous beach. You are also within walking distance (3/4 mile on the beach) of the Avon Pier.
PLEASE NOTE THAT SEPTEMBER THRU APRIL IS A 3 NIGHT MINIMUM AND MAY THRU AUGUST IS A 7 NIGHT MINIMUM. PLEASE TEXT US IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION.

Grounds for eviction: Do not go up on the roof of the house. It is literally 3 stories up. It wold result in death if you fall off.

Do not move furniture in the house. All furniture has a specific place. Please keep furniture in the room where you find it placed on arrival.

Great location near beach

Excellent place to stay. Very close to beach and easy to walk into town. New deck was nice and the house had everything that we needed.

GREAT PLACE

Would definitely recommend and stay here again, very comfortable, convenient. The one complaint I have is that it was not clear on the website that no bed linens, towels, or paper products were provided.

Nice, clean place to stay while at Avon. Very spacious and comfortable.

We are a group of fishermen and have been to obx many times. This house fit the bill in every way. I would happily stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

Great stay at Sailfish!

My family of four adults, two children and two dogs greatly enjoyed our stay at Sailfish. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, and the kitchen had everything you could need for cooking in, if desired. We particularly enjoyed the deck with great views of the ocean, and the proximity to the beach.

Great Trip

Went on a fishing trip with my dad and his friends. House in a great location and slept eveyome comfortably. I would recommend this house for future stays.

Overall good property. Everything essential worked fine, great location. Plenty of room, brand new deck, reasonable price. Shared recommended updates with host and they were gracious and receptive. Already booked for next year.

Great place for a beach getaway!

Sailfish cottage was an excellent home away from home! Of all of the places that we have stayed at the beach, Sailfish was by far our favorite. The house was clean, had a great layout, and was in a very convenient part of town. It had fantastic views from the porch and was just a short walk from the beach. Would 100% recommend!

2023 vacation

Great central location for the house. We had a great time! Quick walk to the beach or stores. Could not ask for a better location! We just so happened to drive to the Museum of the Sea which is a really neat place to check out! We are planning on coming back to the area!

60th Birthday Celebration

We all had a very enjoyable stay as a result of the house and the location. The house was absolutely perfect for our celebration…the kitchen was well-equipped for the meals we prepared, and it was open to the dining, living and deck areas. We had absolutely beautiful weather so we spent plenty of time on the beach which is within walking distance.

love the sailfish

we have been staying at the sailfish for a few years now and we wouldn’t want to spend our trip to the obx anywhere else! it truly is our home away from home we love it there! and betty the property manager is wonderful she is always so nice and so prompt with responding and always accommodates us with our stay! we will see you next year

Whale watching from the deck!

This is a great property. Plenty of room for our extended family. We were able to watch whales migrating from the deck on 3 of our 6 days there. Beach access is easy. Wi-Fi and cable worked great. Couch has been upgraded from property photos. Check in was simple and easy. Would definitely recommend.

Great location

This house was perfect! Avon has beautiful wide beaches and not too crowded for a sunny week in July. The access is super close and short walk to the beach. Can also walk to wine and spice and cups and cones just down the street. This place is affordable and pet friendly. Location is perfect and the house was clean and has all the basics to make your stay comfortable. I would stay again. One of the nicest beach stays I’ve had and I go to the outer banks every summer since I was a child. Highly recommend!

Quintessential beach house

This is our second time staying at this property. We stayed with friends here a few years back. It was perfect fit for our two families this time. Kids ranged from 16-11. Perfect location to beach. Loved the large dining table. Fit all 8 of us comfortably for dinner! I wish there was a light above table (I feel like there was one a few years ago) all in all we had a lovely vacation and was very happy with our accommodations!

Sailfish

The property was wonderful. Check in was easy. Prepare for stairs, lots of them if you bring dogs. Quiet, easy beach access, easy to find and access to Avon. Improvements: mention where the instructions are posted, as I didn't see them til the second day and WiFi info at the TV was outdated. WD40 on sliding glass door to deck, gate at the top of the stairs from the top deck so dogs could sit outside alone, identify where the vacuum cleaner is (not the shampoo machine) if you want us to vacuum before leaving.

Wonderful in many ways!

Our first time in Avon: hope to come back, and here! The weather was not great, but we had books and puzzles provided! View was spectacular. Location fantastic: walked to ice cream almost nightly. Nothing was more than 20 minutes away! Cleaning was adequate. Would love to see an overhead light for the dining table, but other than that nothing else. We’ll be back!

Perfect!

With a family of all grown adults, it is very hard for everyone to get together for a whole week. Being able to plan the trip a year in advanced allowed everyone the time to make it. With 5 bedrooms, the house gave everyone the privacy that we needed. The large open share space was great when we were all together. The large table and bar allowed us all to eat together. It was a very short walk to the beach and we all liked to sit on the balcony at night and look at the ocean. It was a perfect trip with great memories and we all can't wait to go back again.

Fantastic Week

We had a fantastic week at Sailfish; the house has all the basic amenities and it was clean. It is within a few steps from the beach which makes it extremely convenient specially if you are going with little kids. Mr. Lewis was very responsive and always replied to my messages all along the way. The outdoor shower was a lifesaver with my 3yr old and we showered her there all the time to avoid tracking sand inside the house. Being within walking distance from the ice cream shop was another bonus :) Overall we had a great time and we would consider going back.

Definitely needs upgrades. Back porch is horrible, couldn't let my grandchildren out on the deck at all so they were stuck inside the entire time we were at the house. Soft spot in the floor right inside the door. We enjoyed our stay at the beach because we are a family that just deals with things as they come but the house definitely needs repairs done.
